When I got to center I asked if I would owe anything and the person at the desk said only $45 for the office visit. Today I got a bill for $222. I asked billing why and they said $45 for the office visit and the difference was my co-pay that my insurance required I pay. If I knew that the bill would be so high I would never have done the evaluation. I was not having any symptoms except a bulging vein. I would tell anyone considering going to them get the payment information in writing. Very mad at the bill I received.

Rachel did the ultrasound of both my legs. Even though I was a little nervous, she was kind, gentle and knowledgeable. Based on her ultrasound, she found the cause of my varicose Vein issues. I highly recommend Rachel. Dr. John James explained every detail of what his treatment plan would be for me. I am very grateful for all the knowledge and expertise. I am going back in a few weeks for my Vein treatments, and I can not wait!

If you are looking for an advocate for a health issue, this is not the place. Lab results took a month to complete, when I was told that they would likely take about 4 days. They were not willing to reach out to the lab. They were not willing to retest and send to a different lab. To them this is a job, not a passion. After being ill for over a month and coming in twice, with no progress (no new tests, no new medication, no ideas). The third time, I was late exactly 10 minutes because I was printing lab results that, had finally, just arrived (after approx 1 month) and I knew that they would not have them, and I thought it would be helpful to bring them. I was told that they have a late policy and could not see me. There was no one else in the office.

The secretary insisted that as new patients we had to schedule a MEET AND GREET with the doctor or PA. I scheduled the MEET AND GREET appts. My husband went to the office and met the AP, dropped of the new patient paperwork. The AP listened to the lung sounds and that was it. He then scheduled an apt for a physical. A couple of weeks later we get a bill for $250 for that "visit." About $70 was paid by our insurance so we had to pay the rest of the balance. I called the office shocked that this was a real charge as there was no real visit and all we needed was a physical which is paid 100% by our insurance. The office confirmed that this was a real charge. We paid the charge and felt that it was a scam. I cancelled my appt for the meet and greet and will not visit this doctor again. It is truly a shame that you do not tell patients that a meet and greet means you will pay over $300 for me to come to your office and drop off paperwork and greet the doctor or AP. I could have done that when I came for a full physical. Not only you have to take time off from work but you get a nice fat bill for nothing. Had never heard of such scams but my mother in law is an AP and she confirmed that her office does not do such "meet and greet" sessions since insurance companies don't pay for them and they are absolutely a waste of time.

The front desk staff was pleasant and I didn't have to wait long, probably the only positives of going here. I was taken back to a room and shortly after a female PA came in. She literally looked me in the face and said "I'm not sure what you came here expecting" as if I had hobbled into my dentists office and told them I'd hurt my knee. She didn't touch my knee once or do any sort of exam, just had one of the nurses take me for an x-ray (which showed nothing). Then when she returned with the results she said "you may have injured your meniscus." Again, this was done without doing any sort of exam whatsoever. She then told me she'd wrap it in an ace bandage and told me to try going to an orthopedist. The two minutes she took to wrap my knee was the extent of her coming within 5 feet of me! Wrapping my knee in an ace bandage was probably the worst thing for me because it only made the pain worse! I would have been better off taking my $75 co-pay and lighting it on fire instead of wasting my time here.

I had my first appointment with Dr. Marie Monticciolo in Rocky Hill yesterday. I felt that I needed to complete a review for the entire process, start to finish. From the time I called to schedule my appointment until the time I scheduled my next appointment was completely fabulous!! The staff at the desk were SO friendly. Dr. Marie Monticciolo also was so friendly... and knowledgeable...and thorough! She took me into her office first, and went through all of my active diagnoses and medications... then took me across the hall to the exam room and did a full assessment. I needed to make a follow up appointment per her request for something she was concerned about. She gave me some papers I'd need from her to have a few things done like blood work, and I was on my way!! The appointment took about an hour and I sincerely feel positive! Both her and her…read morehusband (Richard Monticciolo, MD) run an internal medicine practice where one on one patient care is not seen as an inconvenience but as an integral part of their treatment philosophy. Prior to initiating treatment with Dr. Monticciolo, I was treated with several physicians through Hartford Medical Group. However, I was finding it increasingly hard to get an appointment, and once I did I found that I spent longer in the waiting room than actually having a consult with my physician. Many times I was not even seen by an M.D. but his or her PA. Regardless of who saw me, half the appointment was spent reviewing my medical history before getting to why I was actually there. I felt that I was a co-pay and not a patient and upon that realization I knew it was time for a change. Since I have begun to see Dr. Monticciolo, I have ALWAYS been treated by her. The practice is small (just her and her husband) and there is not a lot of frills to their office. You will not find your medical records stored electronically or fancy diagnostic tools, but what you will find is a doctor that knows her patients, is willing to talk (yes - talk) with them in her office before the examination, and refer you to another physician if she feels it is necessary. My medical records may be handwritten but I know that they have all been meticulously written by Dr. Monticciolo who - from the routine wellness visit to more serious matters - will give me sound medical advice and excellent patient care.
