I took my mother there and saw Dr Dan Ricchiuti and she was tested for bladder cancer and after 3 weeks she never heard back so I had to call the office. After numerous calls and messages, someone finally answered the phone. I was told my mother's tests were negative and she was fine. Why did nobody call to let her know? She spent 3 weeks wondering if she had cancer or not. I asked to speak to management and spoke to Amelia and she was very rude and talked down to me like I was stupid. The office has new employees every time I take my mom for an appointment , and none of them look or act professional. Just a very unorginized practice with many rude workers and managers. My mother will be switching to Southwoods from now on!

I was impressed by his professionalism and his actual interest in my complaint. An absolute GREAT experience. He has had me in The Surgical Hospital at Southwoods on three separate occasions. I was in for two sets of biopsies and once for insertion of "SpaceOar" for protection during radiation. This hospital, as far as I'm concerned, has always gone above and beyond what should be required for ALL hospitals. The doctors, nurses, orderlies and every other person always goes out of their way to be certain your experience will the best that they can give you. I would recommend this to anyone for whatever ails you. Too bad I can only give 5 stars because it is wsorth so mjuch more.

I have seen staff go out of their way to comfort and reassure me. The doctors are very skilled and thorough in their treatment and in follow up testing, etc. Noone wants to have cancer (or another blood disorder), but if you need an oncologist - I highly recommend The Hope Center.

This is not a bad review on Dr. Porter. She's great. This is with regard to the front desk staff. I…read morewas suffering from a sinus infection and knew I needed an antibiotic. I phoned the office on a Thursday and asked for a call back. I would go in, if necessary, but did not know their restrictions for Covid. I never got a call back on that day or the next. When I did call back on Friday, the office had closed for the day (1 pm) and the service at that same number was not taking messages. I contacted my pharmacy, which faxed a request to the office on my behalf and it was denied, probably because I had not been seen by the doctor, which tells me she didn't get my message. I still had had no contact with my doctor and spent a very miserable, painful weekend before calling a telemedicine doctor and obtaining a simple antibiotic. This same scenario took place in June where I wanted a consult and did not receive a call back, so this isn't the first time the front staff at Dr Porter's has ignored calls or been very unhelpful and unfriendly. If possible, they are even more irritable and unfriendly in person. There were others complaining about the staff when I was in the waiting room at my annual physical earlier this year so this isn't just my opinion. Because of the staff alone, I am looking for another doctor. I love Dr. Porter and it's really too bad that she probably doesn't even know how the staff treats her patients. Everyone deserves a doctor whose staff cares as much about the patients as the doctor does. This office doesn't have that kind of staff. Anyone reading this and looking for a doctor should know you can expect deep sighs and eye-rolls from the staff in Dr. Porter's office. It makes your health seem very unimportant.
