Long story short: my husband was diagnosed ADHD back in 2008 in Illinois, we have 2 children who…read morehave gone down similar paths. I've walked this journey for awhile. I've been diagnosed with depression and needed a psychiatrist's prescription before moving forward. After having met with many different professional doctors for decades I found this office, "psychistist" is not an accurate descriptive for what this practice offers. I was handed my file and told to walk back to his office, I walked in, he stood up and ushered me out yelling at the receptionist that I shouldn't have come back there. I sit and wait an additional 20 min. I am sent back again, he hands me a laminated "menu", for lack of a better descriptive, and asks what do I feel I suffer from...? I say probably 9 out of 10. He says I could tell you were ADD when you walked into my office. Ok. Again: professional. I left with a prescription, it took a few months but I was able to get this transferred via insurance through my PCP. I also see a therapist for PTSD, who has changed my script. My advice; this person is a pill pusher, there's no real diagnosis. He shows you his book, he gives you a laminated list of symptoms, that is it. He does not check your vitals, he takes no history, it is bizarre. As to the staff, the receptionist is a wonderfully sweet woman, the nurse is condescending and does not understand she will sometimes speak with someone who is educated in these matters. After being chastised on the telephone I explained she needed to check herself, I did not need to be chastised like a child, enough was enough, I would not be seeing them any longer. Run, do not walk, to the nearest exit.

I will copy and past from the rooftops! People need to know about this doctor! I have taken so…read moremany lab tests, went to so many doctors, tried so many antidepressants, hypnosis, iv vitamin C only to have found in minutes with this man that I have ADD. I have spent hundreds of dollars and just recently $500.00 at a holistic doctor. Symptoms are very similar to depression and anxiety but other doctors don't care to question the patient further so I did not know. Its true that they make money throwing any old medication at you and that's a band aid remedy. It never lasted that's why I tried pill after pill. I had not been to work in 9 days and I was at the point of checking myself into a hospital for depression. In just one day I had life back! This man combines, diet, supplements, God, attitude and meds (if you truly need them?) He is truly heaven sent! Buy his book while you are there. It has great information to help you understand whats going on with you after you are diagnosed and be sure to read about fruit juice vs. nerve pills. This guy is so smart! Please allow a couple hours for your initial appointment. Be patient cause this is the only doctor that helped me. I believe I have been struggling since 3rd grade. You will not be disappointed. This is a REAL doctor who really cares, I am amazed!

She had become combative and they thought she might need her meds adjusted. When we first took her to st. Thomas she could walk and talk ( although didn't make much sense). She could feed herself and was continent. When we picked her up 3 weeks later she was completely and totally unresponsive. She had become incontinent and had list 15pounds during those 3 weeks. She was transferred back to the memory care unit with hospice. She received so much medication at the hospital she couldn't wake up at all! After returning to the memory care ( where she did not receive any medication) within about 4 days she began to respond. She did reach a point where she could take a few steps with assistance and pivot to a wheelchair. She had to be fed and never regained bladder or bowel control. She never got back to baseline. During the first 2 weeks we weren't allowed to visit. On the third week we could visit 1 hr a day but we were given in writing that we were not to ask the nurses about her condition. This hour was for visiting only. We could almost NEVER get to talk with any staff on the phone. I finally started calling at 4 in the morning to talk to a nurse. And nobody would call us back. It was awful. Come to find out she had a UTI which was probably why she was combative in the first place! If you can possibly avoid it don't send your love one there!

They do not pressure you to do anything you're not ready for. They make you feel safe and walk you through each step. The nurse on call was kind and made the process as painless as possible, which I thought was impossible. The advocate made me feel cared for and gave me such encouragement. I hope all women or men in this situation find the same quality care, treatment, and advocacy that I did during one of the darkest days of your life.

I have no doubt if your abuse was by police, clergy or other authorities in power, they would do the same thing. If you are silent and don't talk about who abused you, they will tolerate you and give you basic yet incompetent treatment because you can't fully heal such a trauma if you have to hide what happened to you to make the therapists and supervisor emotionally comfortable. I experienced multiple ethical violations, lies and outright psychological abuse by several staff at the Sexual Assault Center when dealing with the after-affects of a rape (I have in writing and in legally obtained recordings as proof) just because I was being abused by a mental health therapist. That therapist still practices in Nashville, by the way, because the Sexual Assault Center made sure nothing happened to her. They led me to get away from the therapist telling me they would get me a therapist quickly, then after I did so they refused to see me. They referred me to 2 providers: a physically impaired provider and a therapist who does not even give full sessions and refuses to take health insurance despite it being illegal to not have health insurance. There is a strong political "brotherhood" at this facility and they have no problem going against a client to protect their image which is apparently not what they project to the community. This is the second time I tried the Sexual Assault Center. I went to them back when it was called RASAC for help with childhood sexual abuse and the therapist at the time told me to go into the bathroom and masturbate during session (while they were collecting health insurance money.) You decide, but I will never recommend this facility for anyone.
