He loves and baby pool! We then went for a walk in the sand on the beach. He wanted to go to the playground and play so that was next. It's nice they have a playground for the older kids and one for the younger kids that's gated in. After he was worn out enough we hit up the concession stand for a quick lunch. Love the fact they had gluten free options and a little bit of everything you can think of snack food wise. We got a cheeseburger and fries and a lemonade. We then ate lunch by the clubhouse and took a walk on the boat docks and up to the tower view area to see the lake better. During our walk we saw a mama duck with 4 babies and a turtle sunbathing! We had a wonderful time and highly recommend taking the kids there if possible!

Lots of picnic tables and places together with friends and family on the weekends or in the afternoon or whenever. I still come here every summer with my brother and his family. There is no lifeguard on duty but there is always some one from the department patrolling for other violations. Talking about violations. NO alcohol/bottles, No animals. Plenty of parking. The sand, grass area, water is clean and well maintained. It does get dirty during peak hours but they do come clean few times a day. This pond is isolated from other water bodies around it. Keeps it little cleaner. Makes it good for scuba diving and there is some fishing as well. The have amazing trail system in the park for cycling and hiking. There is a trail around this pond. If you hike to the back of the pond, there is some water access (private beach). Or a spot to take your girl friend. There are two sand volleyball courts with net. One shed which can be reserved. This park is ideal because it's away from the crowded beaches around the area. Only thing, there could have been more trees in the lawn area for shade and tie your hammock.

There was an Ofrenda set up to pay homage to those who have passed. There were a few vendors selling crafts (think day of the dead headbands, ponchos, etc...) There was an arts and crafts table for the little and someone giving away pieces of bread. The dancers rolled out in traditional Mexican dress and danced away! If the kids lose interest, no fear- there's a playground right there! Also, so is Canada... in the distance. A nice way to experience the riverwalk in Detroit.
