Massive burger and wedges!
Stephanie O.

Well, I was warned before I went that this place was just average but I went anyway for the novelty of the "centimeter" theme. Turns out only a small part of the menu is dictated by this centimeter rule so we ordered toasted bread with different toppings just so we could have something that was measured in centimeters! I had quite a traditional Austrian dish - lentils with bacon and dumplings (Linsen mit Speck und Knoedel). It tasted awesome but the dumplings were not good at all, just very bland. My friend had the burger which was massive! It came with loads of wedges which were really tasty. The platters of finger food looked really tasty. The prices are good for what you get. Service wasn't so good. There are separate smoking and non-smoking rooms. There is a very casual atmosphere and the decor matches. There were quite a few big groups too.

Good service and cool pub atmosphere. Decent pub food. Comparable pricing for the city. Recommend as a watering hole social spot and for decent food.

I would recommend this Austrian restaurant to anyone with good appetite and loving meat! I pass by a centimeter every day on my way back from work, and I finally got to eat there. Of course they have some good salads and soups, but what really amazed me was the one meter long sausage (Schwert), the size of the rips, but above all: their burgers! You can choose between 6 of them with 200g of meat (lamb, rind, buffalo, sheep...), but the most impressive is the Centimeter Burger: two steaks (360g) of rind meat in a home made burger, served with lots of potatoes (half of French fries and half of baked potatoes) and four different sauces! Plus the prices are very reasonable (9,90€ a burger, 11,90€ for the Centimeter one), the staff really friendly and seating outside on the terrace made us spend a very nice moment! We'll be back!.

Sunny outside seating.

Proportions are just too large and service is horrible. Would not be surprised if they collect leftover potato salads.

A real "locals" bar. 1950s speakeasy feel to the entrance…read morebut once inside you are welcomed by very friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Wall projected pictures and 60s style hanging speakers abound in this very funky bar/chill out lounge. Large bar and ample space to sit, including cinema style seating along one wall. Not too pricey and a good "before club" or "after party" spot.

We got there super early (around 9PM), and the place was empty--as one expected on a Friday evening that early. To our surprise, and to our wallet's delight, 9-10Pm was happy hour that night; cocktails were 1/2 off. We both ordered long islands; usually I can't taste the alcohol in a long island, but the bartender had fixed us up with a generous amount of alcohol. Our bartender was dressed in head to toe black, including black skinny jeans, with a mop of shaggy dark hair; he floated around the bar looking more the part of a tortured artist than a bar tender, but he did fit the grungy-in-a-hip-way atmosphere. By midnight, the place was pretty packed with people. Groups of friends sat along the walls in faded yellow movie theater seats, around the bar in the center of the bar, and stood in clumps, chatting with heads cocked sideways and a drink in hand once all the seating areas had filled up. I didn't get the sense that this is a bar that gets raucous or overly crazy; the crowd was tame even when the bar filled up--this was in stark contrast to the bars we visited in Budapest. The music was good, but nothing too special. There were a few cool trap tracks dropped; luckily no dupstep or pop. Nothing really memorable though. Donau would definitely be a place to frequent if I lived in Vienna! Definitely check it out if you're in the city.

2 o'clock in the morning and you still need a couple of cold ones to hammer your brain into…read moreoblivion. "Zipp!!!!!!" When you enter the bar, it's like in the movie backdraft, where the guy opens the door and a exploding fireball blasts into his face. Entering Zipp is a similar experience though, instead of the explosion, there is loud rock music and drunken singing, and instead of the fireball, an accumulation of smoke from a 1000 cigarrettes blasts into your face, instantly making you, your hair and clothes down to your underwear(no matter how many layers you wear) smell like cigarrettes, vomit and alcohol. If you think, drunk singing, getting drunk, heavy smoking, drunk dancing in close quarters and drunk conversation is not enough for a bar... there is also a "recreational" option... The Bar tenders and even sometimes the DJ are often quite open to a challenge of "dice poker" where the loser, you guessed it, has to pay for a vodkashot round, for all participants. Or you can try to play foosball against some really skillfull players.. where, if you lose without scoring at least once, have to invite the enemy team to a drink. Btw... one of the few bars, which serve the vodkashots icecold in a frozen shotglass. A fun and weird place to be... where time itself stumbles into the toilet to throw up.

I don't think I will be back. The place is too shabby and the bartender seemed to be too…read morepreoccupied with his friends who had come over - I felt like he was annoyed whenever someone made an order. There are many other good places in the neighbourhood, go there and not to Zipp!
