I am writing this to speak up for those individuals who have gone to the church for help and were…read moreturned away and who feel like speaking up is speaking against their church, but after observations made and multiple people have reached out for help and they didn't help, that someone needs to speak up! This church constantly asks its congregation to give financially--even urging people to donate to global initiatives like "Kingdom Builders" telling them to give when they cannot afford it or when its their last and those members actually giving their last; guest pastors telling people indirectly to give up their homes if they are directed to by God or asking members to give large sums of money $. Yet, when their own members face a crisis, the church offers virtually zero meaningful support, not even help with resources who can help, prays with you (hallelujah for prayer because prayer works) and then they send them on their way to deal with it alone and their only hope being that God makes a way because we all know that God always makes a way even when the church doesn't help, not even with finding resources to help sadly, but God will always make a way. Instead of real assistance, families in need are handed a prayer and a hope, and the hungry are given a single bag of mismatched canned goods that wouldn't feed a household for a single day let alone make enough meals to last a few weeks as the pastor stated (not that they are ungrateful by any means, they just would like to know what meals can be made from them is all.) When members seek help, leadership automatically assumes they are just begging for money. They offer unsolicited financial lectures, even pressuring recent high school graduates who still need life guidance themselves causing them to feel badly and then they walk away from the church because they feel humiliated. In reality, people in crisis are often just looking for resources, guidance, or physical help because they cannot manage alone. To be written off by your home church, or treated as an irritation by a pastor where it feels like a sarcastic comment that "this has been going on for a long time," trust us that person knows this already and doesn't need a snide remark to remind them--especially for individuals dealing with a crisis or chronic illness. Pastor preaches that its in Gods time yet makes comments like this which is disheartening and hurtful to those individuals. Furthermore, systemic support is lacking. While states like New York, Texas, North Carolina, and Georgia have resources for those in need, Florida lags severely behind despite its massive homeless population. It is heartbreaking to see unhoused individuals and families, even individuals in wheelchairs, left without basic daily living needs to sleep in the streets. We need to wake up: while local donations are shipped off to help other countries, the vulnerable families, children, and individuals right here at home are being completely abandoned and even by the churches that are being supported by members who may eventually need help too. It may not be you at this moment, but everyone eventually faces struggles at some point in life! Just know that this church won't help you, so don't bother asking for help or even for help finding resources that will help.

Here's a man passionate about his walk with Jesus, honest about his own past and immediately I felt "listened to". The congregation is small but caring and friendly - truly a church family. There's something for everyone; weekly Kids club, weekly Celebrate Recovery, biweekly Food Pantry, Afterschool program, a Spanish worship service (1pm) and more. Sunday Bible class at 9:30 and Worship service at 10:30 are the best and most user friendly than I've ever experienced. They truly live up to the sign above the church doors that reads "Embrace Hope All Who Enter" I love my church home and family!

To begin with, Journey Church is a pretty big church with lots of visitors. They have plenty of parking and there are volunteers directing traffic. There is a tent for new visitors with lots of information. I got there while worshipping was happening and I felt the spirit through their songs. I loved how at home I felt by this. Immediately after it Pastor JJ Vasquez started preaching and, wow! He is funny, informative about the word, and keeps you fully engaged.

He speaks the word of God so well. He makes every single sermon relatable and understandable for anyone. The slogan of this church is to make Jesus accessible to anyone and that is exactly what they do each and every Sunday. The church is growing so much, they've been around for nine years And started in a living room and now they have thousands of people attending several different services at different locations and even online. I love participating in small groups that really helps to create community among such a large church. And they always have wonderful events for couples and women and teens and more. Recently, my close friend and her daughter started attending and her daughter even got baptized, which is something they do at the church. I believe three times a year.

This review is not meant to endorse or critique a place of worship or services. I visited the auditorium for a concert on Friday. The lobby was small, but still nice with decorations. I didn't see any concession stands, so we ate somewhere else before the event. When we got to our seats, we noticed that our tickets weren't checked, even at the entrance. We sat in our assigned seats anyways, which was at the balcony. The seat was a typical arena style seat, but it was comfortable enough. The AC inside was cold and perfect. Looks like the venue is able to hold about 2000 guests. We had no issues viewing the orchestra and the monitors there. The bathrooms in the balcony area was small and only accommodated a couple people at a time, so there was a little wait. Though, it was pretty clean. Other than the security screening, we didn't see much staff at the venue. Wasn't sure whether the screening was common at the venue, or requested by the concert people, but the security staff were mostly polite and professional. They did however, leave immediately after the show. There was staff to help with parking and heading to the venue, but that was it. Parking was free and ample, so it was a plus compared to other venues. For a concert, I would visit the venue again. However, I would be aware of the lack of concessions inside, security screening requirements to enter, and not much staff indoors. But the free parking, comfortable seating, and great AC makes this a nice choice.

He and his wife, Melanie and their children reflect the love of Christ in all that they do. We are also very happy to have a pastor who not only serves the Lord, but has put his life on the line for this country as well, as a decorated veteran. My husband and I are very happy to be in a church where the fellowship is warm, the word of God is preached boldly and unapologetically, and the people in the congregation are loving and welcoming. We love our new Pastor and are very happy in this church .

A few years ago, my wife, her family and I attended a holiday service at this church. We also…read morebrought a 17 year old along who my wife, as his nanny, had essentially raised from birth. He actually came along as a courtesy to her as she wanted us to be together as a family to observe the holiday. Towards the end of the sermon, the young man excused himself to go to the rest room which was located in a more isolated part of the building. While standing at the urinal, an adult stranger entered the rest room and informed the young man he had been watching him from the rear of the church. He began to reprimand him for not taking the sermon more seriously, handed him a religious tract, and left. Naturally, the youngster was rattled after having been singled out and stalked to a remote part of the building by this stranger. Later we discovered that this person was mentally ill and prone to unexpected violent psychotic episodes; apparently the former pastor witnessed some of this behavior at his services during his tenure. First of all, a grown man does NOT follow a 17 year old boy into a bathroom to accost him, especially when there is no one around, no matter what the intentions. Secondly, why wasn't this individual under supervision and allowed to freely roam the building while a service was in progress? The current pastor and his upper minions were made aware of the incident, but since nothing happened, everything was swept under the carpet to avoid tarnishing the reputation of the church. However, the reality is things could have gone very wrong very quickly if something would have triggered this guy. Plus, the bathroom was isolated enough so that no one in the nave would have been aware of something going on in that part of the building until it was too late. The young man never received an explanation or an apology for the incident. This church is a major disappointment with its religious pretense; they profess to preach the Bible, but evidently the real priority is protecting a squeaky-clean image and its own self-preservation. Thankfully, this church got lucky and there were no tragic consequences that day.
