Being the rider if the bike I thought only I knew!!! The price for the basic service is well priced and does what it says on the tin. They have a range of services available which cover different aspects. They assured me if it needed further work they would contact me before undertaking the work. The shop has a good range of bikes, children's, teens and adults. They also stick the usual array of cycling clothing. The real plus side to this shop is its location just a 30sec walk from Norwood junction station so if you commute to work via Norwood junction it is way to drop off and collect your bike. The only downside was they lost my number so I had to go back to the shop to see if my bike was ready, which it was so no biggy!! So all in all they do provide a quality service (minor hick up aside) and I shall be using them again in the near future that I am sure of. I would have given them 4 stars but they did misplace my number ;) So if you are in the area or thinking about getting a bike/servicing your existing ride hop off the train and give them a go.

Yet another shocking experience from Evans Cycles. They've had my bike for five days and only go…read morethe repair it when I turn up to collect it. It was meant to be ready on Friday but I couldn't collect as I was off work. You think they'd have it ready three days later! Having been advised it would 'just take five minutes' I was still waiting ten minutes later. This is the second time in a row this branch have made me wait while they repair my bike, despite coming back for collection. Last time they rushed the repair and I had to bring it back two more times to be done again. What's the betting they rush this repair and I break down on the way home? Next time I'll be using The London Bicycle Company round the corner - they're a professional organisation. Further to my last review - to top it all off after they rushed my bike repair on the spot I pointed out to Evans Waterloo that this is when mistakes happen - queue - a problem with my gears on the way home; what a surprise! They had messed up the gears when replacing the back wheel inner tube and I was missing a gear. They made such a mess of re-repairing my bike last time I just got my husband to fix it this time. On my first interaction with Evans I really felt they couldn't organize a children's tea party let alone repair a bike. The only reason I returned this time was because I have an injured ankle and I couldn't walk far enough with a flat tire to get to the London Bicycle Company. This time Evans Waterloo really excelled themselves proving that they can't even repair a flat tire - nice work guys. DO NOT USE THIS SHOP - they're utter amateurs.

This means that most of their bike stock, clothing, and accessories are geared up towards road bikes. Out of interest there is a mountain bike specialist around the corner on Waterloo Road. As a road specialist the store and its staff are very much geared up for giving you the best advice and support for road bikes. Whenever I've been in here it has always been busy, but the staff are very helpful when you get to speak with them, and are never in a rush to get rid of you and serve the next person. They finish with you when you are good and ready. The store is well laid out and there is room for wheeling in your bike.

I recommend the Gold Star service at £35.00, I swear my bike actually felt lighter than when I put it in, breaks were fantastic and I could finally get into 1st gear. These guys are fantastic and the shop is full of lights, levers, covers, mirros and they can even put bells on it! Speaking of which they run a nice old school Christmas Club as well! They ponce around as if they know more than Lance Armstrong or Chris Hoy put together. Peer disdainfully at your ride if it's not worth more than 4000 pounds. Actually, they would probably still frown upon a 8000 pound bike, because the front brake lever or some other component is not made out of carbon! So it would be okay then if the staff treated you with friendly honest service. They should all go on a trip to America and see the meaning of customer service! Outstanding customer service (eg personalised text messages updating you on progress of your service), excellent quality of workmanship, customer-friendly opening hours, and keen pricing. I called round 3 other places (both independents and chains) and their pricing was the most competitive. They have various tiers of service available and once they see the bike recommend which you need (not necessarily the most expensive they recommended a more basic one for mine). They also offer as standard a free follow-up check to ensure everything is still working smoothly, 4 6 weeks after every service, which I believe is unique among bike workshops (at least I've never seen it anywhere else anyway). They also really know what they are doing on the technical side the mechanic Troy said he has been doing this for 15 years. A proper old-school independent bicycle workshop the place is owner-managed and you get the feeling that they really care about you as a customer. Would not hesitate to recommend them.

I had the back wheel stolen off my bike very annoying and went into Cloud 9 for a replacement…read more Great service: 2nd hand wheel offered and they were able to complete the work there and then, fitting a new cassette, puncture proof tyre etc. At my request they also fitted some Wellgo pedals. When I returned they had also cleaned up the bike and replaced a fraying cable. The bike goes better than before, and best of all I wasn't made to feel an idiot about my limited technical knowledge. Bill came to £150 but with a voucher from their website I paid £140. I think that's pretty good. They are total enthusiasts! Highly recommended.

From fabulous cycle stickers, to boutique tire valve covers, this shop is a gift buying dream. This chap really knows what he's doing when it comes to cool. The minimal clutter separates this shop from other bike joints. The beautiful bikes are lined up in order of brand with a whole wall of quirky and unusual cycle helmets in the downstairs area. There is also a little workshop where they fit poorly bikes. How cool is that! It's a trek out if you don't live in the area but so worth it for the brilliant shopping experience. A small staff means that you know who's serving you and you'll see them on your next visit, as after the first time, for certain you'll be back. Now all I need to do is buy a bike!

I thought this shop was immaculate looking with all the single speed , mountains and hybrids lined beautifully. I was too busy eyeing up the pink and blue vintage styled ones... don't get me wrong I love my baby but silver ain't my favourite colour. Downstairs had more bicycles with all their quirky styled helmet, I mean I saw a MJ styled helmet and a lovely flowery pink one which they did not have in my size :(. It is also a repair shop downstairs as well. Upstairs with the bicycles are all the other cycle accessories from locks, bells, clothes, repair kits etc. I bought my baby new bell which said "I love my bike" for five pounds which a really good bell not like my bad excuse for a bell that came with my bicycle. I loved my shopping experience here, the friendly staff really know their stuff and gave me a free bag (with their logo on it), which I carry proudly around.
