I wish we could leave a 0 stars to this business, we contracted Connors Decorative Concrete Inc. to…read morerefurbish our pool deck, replace the drains and painted, Jeffrey Connor was the person that identified as the owner and my husband and I signed the contract with for $4,000, deposit of $2,000 They (2 people) start 8/27 they worked on the deck for 3 days during this time my husband was concern about the way they were doing the drain because they covered the drain with concrete and left a little cut straight over it that was the only way for the water to go through in the drain , Jeffrey explain to my husband that was the only way to do it for the water to go out, when I get home the day that day suppose finished the job , one of the color that we picked was wrong , we called him and he said that was a mistake and he came on Saturday 8/30 painted with the color we ordered, he called and asked my husband for the rest of the money that Saturday, my husband ZELLED $2,000.00 the balance pending. We wait until Sunday afternoon to walk on the deck and look at the final product, for our surprise the concrete on the drain was all cracked and collapsing, there were cracks on different areas of the deck and the paint was all uneven around the pool, we called Connors to come and check the situation, he came couple of days later and promise that this time he will do the drain different way and the right way, and he will be painting around the pool and fix the cracks. He installed a drain net on top of the ditch but multiple pieces attached unevenly to each other, the ditch is to big for the net, there's cracks still on the deck areas, we called him and again he offer to send back $1,050.00 for the drain A company is charging us $2,250.00 to fix this mess. We want at least half of the money back to have this done the right way, NEVER trust reviews this Company is 5 stars but they 3 reviews over supposedly 10 years of experience, definitely friends and family rate.

Since the cost of the remodel determines if we purchase the property, this made no sense to me and it's bad customer service. Dealing with Eric McCoy and EMC Construction was a nightmare from beginning to end. Eric McCoy has…read moreis a big bully with terrible temper and threatened me with physical violence. Let's start from the beginning. EMC came in with the highest bid among three, $15,000 for converting a carport into a garage and replacing two support posts for the front porch. McCoy was recommended by the realtor who sold me my house, and being new to the area, I went with them. Even with 10 weeks to complete the project, they still could not finish on time. But wait, it gets worse. The work from this company was very poor. the support posts for the front porch are not plumb and they hang over the front and side edges of the porch. This, of course, looks absurd. The electric work in the garage is sloppy with wires running along the ceiling of the garage that could have easily been tucked out of sight. The stucco work for the wood-frame garage was amateur looking with finger prints and waves and dents everywhere. I am still cleaning up waste mortar scattered about my property. Some was even discarded in my neighbors bushes. When I asked Eric McCoy to remedy these problems, he responded with a profanity laced tirade. He said everything was good enough and met code. He continued getting angrier and was loudly cursing me, dropping f-bombs everywhere. When i asked him to stop cursing and talking to me in that manner he only got worse. I expressed that he can't talk to me that way on my property and he replied he would talk to me however he pleased. When he continued with the insults and cursing I told him to get off my property. He refused. I said I would call the police and have him removed and he said go ahead and call them. His stucco guy started to drag him off my property but McCoy kept screaming, calling me a "pansy-ass" and tried to get me to come into the street so he could kick my ass. Keep in mind this is no small dude. He is about 6'3" and 240 lbs., so there was no way I was going to take him on. Plus, I don't customarily handle my business dealings in such a manner. I was warned by one of his workers about his temper so evidently this is the way he operates. I had to ban him from my property for the duration of the project. The stucco guy came back on his own accord (a subcontractor) and re-did his work, so credit to him. McCoy thought the original work was fine. The job was supposed to be complete at the end of may but wasn't finished until late August. Office manager was demanded money be brought to their office because they didn't want to wait the 2-3 days for the check to get there by mail. If you want a belligerent contractor who will treat you like crap, insult you, refuse to leave your property, and threaten to kick your ass if you don't like his poor work and attitude, then this is your guy. Otherwise I suggest you hire someone else.

Finding a fence company that will do "smaller" jobs was a bit of a struggle, but thankfully Colton was happy to help. He came out at the expected time, gave a fair quote and since we were planning on doing it eventually anyway, I trusted him and his crew at MiCo Development Group to install a 2nd gate on the other side of the fence. The quote for the project was fair and delivered quickly through email via a customer portal. Payment for the deposit was simple and easy to do and everything was honest and straightforward. We scheduled a time for the work to be done a few weeks after the quote and Colton was communicative about the best days, letting us know that they had to adjust slightly for the Thanksgiving holiday, but was also clear in checking in ahead the day before to make sure the date worked out. When the work was done, they showed up on time and went over the agreed upon specs ahead of time. Colton and Mike paid attention to every detail I mentioned (such as a specific gate latch that I wanted) before starting. And in the middle of the job, when they accidentally hit a sprinkler line, they were honest about it and ensured that it was fixed properly before calling the job complete. The repairs were done in about half a day and now I have the piece of mind of (two!) working gates.
