It's the end of the year at PSU, so it's move-out day. It's…read moreamazing how students have to learn to manage their time in school and also learn to organize their belongings to fit in their parents' vehicles at the end of the school year. The campus provides a large wheeled bin to help students carry their belongings from the dorm to their cars. You must sign the bin out and return it by a certain time; otherwise, you will be charged a late return fee. There is a donation room designated for usable items you no longer want or need. The donated items go to the local Goodwill. The PSU campus police don't issue tickets to non-registered cars during the move-out period as long as you put on your flashers. Bottom line: that dorm room assigned to you better look like the day you moved in, or the student/parents will receive a bill for trash left behind, items left in the room, and anything damaged.

I think my tuition was $2,675 per semester back in the late 1990's. Good times from what I think I remember from those days in metropolis junior. Anyone who hasn't visited in the last 10 years would be amazed by all of the changes on campus. Tons of new buildings and lots of roads now closed to vehicular traffic, which is a good thing. Lots of changes in downtown state college as well. Many new high-rise buildings and development. Come back for a visit and enjoy all the university has to offer.

They offer private tutoring (1:1 or in a group setting, I always do 1:1) as well as review sessions for most major classes. They tend to have reviews be most popular for classes that are higher level and more advanced than the classes that LionTutors offers, which is nice for upperclassmen. The 1:1 tutoring is more pricey but really, really helpful in understanding the material better. I honestly don't know what I would have done without the tutoring for certain classes - it's amazing how much 1:1 tutoring helps especially when your class has 300+ people in it. As much as I love Penn State, the chemistry department is definitely one of their downfalls and PSU Know How saved me from doing horribly or even having to retake these hard classes. Just be advised - it's not a cop out from having to actually learn and put in effort! I think the people that succeed the most are those who go to class, do their homework, but really just want that extra help to actually understand the material more. Once you do that, you are way more well prepared to answer exam questions and apply the material you have been learning.

I'm from Georgia, and would have went to the same school there, but life circumstances led me here, and I am glad I went. Even with carpooling from Lewistown, once I got there, I found girls that I could ride home with, that lived in my area and we are still friends today. The staff is wonderful. Mrs. Natali is a great classroom instructor and if she doesn't know the answer, which isn't very likely, she will always make sure she finds it for you. Ms. Stacie is very knowledgable in the business aspect of the industry and can definately further your knowledge in the advanced methods that she teaches. She's very verbal with her explanations and in-depth as well. Mrs. Leah, coming through the school's education system, is now the salon floor instructor, which fits her bill. She stays up in all the latest and newest hair trends and will explore all those possibilities with her hands-on approach to learning. Mrs. Lorri, as the Executive Director, has all the knowledge of her staff, wrapped into one. She's been in the business for at least two decades and has worked in both Lewistown and State College, giving her the best idea in ways to continue not just your career but your education. Also, Mr. Schoeneman has a dedication to his students and staff by providing different workshops and Expo's, including the one that brings together all 103 offiliated schools together for competition and school spirit.
