It's…read moreamazing how students have to learn to manage their time in school and also learn to organize their belongings to fit in their parents' vehicles at the end of the school year. The campus provides a large wheeled bin to help students carry their belongings from the dorm to their cars. You must sign the bin out and return it by a certain time; otherwise, you will be charged a late return fee. There is a donation room designated for usable items you no longer want or need. The donated items go to the local Goodwill. The PSU campus police don't issue tickets to non-registered cars during the move-out period as long as you put on your flashers. Bottom line: that dorm room assigned to you better look like the day you moved in, or the student/parents will receive a bill for trash left behind, items left in the room, and anything damaged.

They offer private tutoring (1:1 or in a group setting, I always do 1:1) as well as review sessions for most major classes. They tend to have reviews be most popular for classes that are higher level and more advanced than the classes that LionTutors offers, which is nice for upperclassmen. The 1:1 tutoring is more pricey but really, really helpful in understanding the material better. I honestly don't know what I would have done without the tutoring for certain classes - it's amazing how much 1:1 tutoring helps especially when your class has 300+ people in it. As much as I love Penn State, the chemistry department is definitely one of their downfalls and PSU Know How saved me from doing horribly or even having to retake these hard classes. Just be advised - it's not a cop out from having to actually learn and put in effort! I think the people that succeed the most are those who go to class, do their homework, but really just want that extra help to actually understand the material more. Once you do that, you are way more well prepared to answer exam questions and apply the material you have been learning.

I love my major and enjoy all the professors in my major. The school is mostly known for Pre-PA but, they have other great majors and minors to offer. The campus is beautiful during all seasons, love walking down Ivy lane to class during the fall and spring. For the most part all the professor i have had or been in-contact with are passionate for what they teach and for you being successful in their classes and in general. There is a great teacher to student ratio, most of my classes have had 25 students or less. Which creates a great class setting. The one downside for me is campus and town is small. If you come from a busier town it can be a harder transition. Luckily State College and Williamsport is less than an hour way. But, due to a smaller college, there are less student which is nice because you know or recognize almost everyone in your classes or just in passing. But overall it is a great school! If you are looking for a smaller school and a more quite area, be sure to check this school out!

This annual, free event can't get any better. While it is obviously kid-centered (what kid doesn't…read morelove holding a tarantula??) my wife and I went kid-less and had a fantastic time looking at all the exhibits, holding the creepy crawlies, and chatting with the booth workers. People of all ages would find something they like, and this is a great way to spend your Saturday afternoon. They even have food and drinks to purchase, so you can easily make a whole day of it!
