However it's a great way to spend an afternoon, looking around at all of the artwork. From paintings to clothing to pottery to sculptures with lots of potters and jewelry makers. There's a lot of great music scheduled and it's all free. Quite a few food truck vendors. Peoples Choice is held at the Grange fair now and used to be the more affordable version of the arts festival. Now it's six dollars to park at the Grange Fairgrounds, and the prices at the Peoples Choice are just as high.

They have the food, they have lots to do, the booklet they produced is detailed and very informative, the volunteer trash crew is everywhere and very dutiful at their jobs, good food choices, and clean bathroom facilities all over. One suggestion. Many festivals around the country have become dog free. You should think about this. Most large dogs are poorly attended to by their owners, take up precious sidewalk space, and in general the environment may be too noisy for animals. I see you ban bicycles. You must have thought that one through, because most festivals encourage bicycles. Think it though on animals. I would encourage a ban. This is the 47th iteration and it seems they are only getting better. They take over the entire city and everyone cooperates! Plan to come next year, central PA is lovely in July.

If I could go back in time, I'd buy some pottery on the Children's Day (Day 1) because surely those would've been cheaper. There is also a People's Choice Arts Festival in Boalsburg during the same time. I heard they have more local artists and things are generally more affordable. Gotta check that out next year. There are also different performers and artists; check out the website for the schedule. The funnest part for kids has got to be the water structure that's built on S. Allen Street. Where's the one for adults?! Lastly and most importantly, the food: This year there were booths with Funnel Cakes ($5), gyros (good but paying $8 for one makes it taste less good), greek food (including a salad), fried seafood, fried rice. There are also nonprofit/fundraising groups stationed throughout the area offering drinks and snacks for a donation.

Arts of all kinds, from metal statues, jewelry, wooden furniture, leather purses, to photography, modern Art, stained glass, clothing, pottery. It's spread out from on campus all the way back to Fairmont Avenue. There are plenty of food vendors, although I would like to see some new ones. Concerts on several stages, all of which are free. The best ones typically happen on the campus right in front of old Main. Everything set up early in the morning and goes until like eight or 9 o'clock at night. There is no way you could come to Arts Fest and not find something you want! Whether you were looking for a giant piece of art for your office or some cute little earrings no one else has. Arts festival is for you.
