We finally got around to checking out Jingle Fest! It's a one day event that's been held at Central Park for the past 4 years. Lots of vendors selling specialty foods, handcrafted items, clothing and decor. There's a live band, bar (Newhall Refinery) and food trucks. Kids can visit with Santa for $8, with pics taken with your own phone. Overall a really nice park event. Free admission, pets allowed and lots of parking. read more

What another beautiful and HUUUUUGE park in the SCV! Something for everyone here. Lots of great hiking trails in the adjacent hills, many soccer fields, baseball/softball diamonds, basketball courts, Disc Golf, Community Gardens, TWO dog parks(small and large pups welcome to their own space) and for avid stairclimbers, who enjoy (???) walking actual stairs, a DEDICATED exercise staircase. The staircase was the first feature I noticed the first time I passed by at night. I could see something in the distance that resembled the Mulholland aqueduct cascading down the Newhall Pass near my home. So on this beautiful Wednesday evening, we headed to Central Park to "investigate" the lights at the back of the park. How cool! We arrived just as the late afternoon sun was descending o're the horizon and the clouds were moving from white to pink, to grey, to pink, to peach, to orange. Gorgeous! Perfect timing to see the beginning of the "River of Lights" that caught my eye. A beautiful array of 214 programmable lights that seem to "flow" in ever changing colors from the flag pole at the top of the exercise staircase down, down, down the 172 steps and into a main plaza, lined with benches and trees, to encircle a lovely 2025 art installation entitled "When Cloud Met A Cloud" by Sujin Lim. The overall effect is rain falling, cascading down and evaporating into the clouds to cycle again. It's so pretty! Along the plaza are educational displays from the SCV water Agency, highlighting the importance water has in our lives. It does INDEED resemble what we in the SFV see on the "other side" of these hills, as the aqueduct flows into our valley. I may not attempt this staircase walk anytime soon, but we did enjoy walking the forged trail around the park and seeing all the people - and lots of free parking! - utilizing this space. Not the famous New York Central Park, but the Santa Clarita version is pretty nice too. Went here for a soccer tournament and it was crowded and busy, but the event was well organized. At least the park is huge and not concentrated in one area. A lot of different fields and games going on. Parking can be a struggle with so many people. People please drive carefully when there are a lot of families and little kids walking around, you'll find your field and a parking spot eventually! read more

I've been coming here for years and I can't believe I haven't written a review! My kids practice and play games here so often and I still feel like I haven't even seen the entire park. Just last week my son had a soccer clinic on a field near the back side of the park that I have never seen before or even knew existed. My understanding is that the just returfed the grass to change it all to the short, fast grass thay balls travel quickly on. The fields seem endless so there's a ton of space for activities. They have outdoor basketball courts with lights and near the front of the park is a baseball diamond that I've never stepped foot on. There is a playground area as well. There are definitely lots of parking spaces but I feel like for each field they are insufficient so you may have a walk to find an open space and return to your desired field. Listen, the park is huge. They also recently unveiled some light fixtures, climbing staircases which improve the aesthetics of the park and bring more people to exercise on the stairs. Even though it's huge, it always seems packed nowadays. Most of the fields are occupied during the weekday afternoons and evenings so sometimes it can be hard to find an available big field but if you look, I'm sure it can be done. Last year, we did encounter some issues with the lights on the rear fields because they would turn off at an early hour and it seemed unpredictable. I'm not sure if it is public knowledge which fields are reserved and how long the lights remain on for each field. It seemed each field had its own light schedule. The park is also very clean, not much, of any trash rolling around. Overall I like the park, and I'm sure I'll be coming here for years to enjoy it. read more

Five paws for Central Park! I strutted through the huge grassy fields and cruised past the basketball courts like a fluffy little mayor doing my morning rounds. Even the 172-step exercise staircase was packed with Santa Clarita humans huffing and puffing their way toward health and wellness- very inspiring. The only bummer? The dog park gates were locked tight. My sanctuary was sealed shut. But a champion like me doesn't quit: I took the off-trail route, found a peaceful overlook above the fenced-out, confused pups below, and completed my solemn, soil-returning duties with pride. Jessie and all grounds crew are very helpful when you bring an issue to their attention. Old homeless camp set up in one of the canyons had lots of trash. Brought it to Jessie's attention and later that morning was informed they had already removed most of the debris less an old couch that had a bee hive in it. They contacted someone for the hive and have since removed the couch also. Outstanding job guys read more

It's been awhile since I've been to this park and recently came to see a tribute to Santana with the concerts in the park that they've been having all summer long. It goes until the end of august. If you get there early you can reserve a section for you and your friends/family, but if you're like me and went solo they have a standing and dancing area up front by the band. This park also has different community fairs, festivals and concerts. They have baseball/softball leagues during the week. Kids practice football here. They have a trail around the park to walk or run on. Dog park, basketball court, play area for the kids. This park is big compared to some of the other parks we have in scv. read more

Surprisingly, it had been nearly 2 years since I last visited Central Park until yesterday for the annual SCV Home & Garden Show this past Sunday. A yearly tradition for my wife and I greatly enjoyed the stroll through numerous vendors and tent offerings this year. My last visit prior was to observe the total solar eclipse of August 21, 2017. There were so many kind individuals with the proper shaded glasses and telescope setups, graciously allowing any and everyone a view through their devices. Jackie and I hopped in line for several views. Great atmosphere and experience. We've taken Prince to the dog park here on numerous occasions, and my youngest son was a regular at the basketball courts during his high school years. Even still meeting up with friends there to play a few games every now and then. Nice hiking opportunities as well around the perimeter trail, with regular softball and soccer games going on at several fields throughout. And during summer months, Concerts in the Park offering all genres of popular music by various cover bands is attended by thousands for free every Saturday afternoon. With plenty of parking, a great gathering place for family outings. read more

What a fun event! Tequila and Taco Music Festival turned out to be lots of fun. Plenty of parking was available and the entrance was close by. We waited on a long line at the entrance and to go through security but it went quickly and the staff were friendly. The other patrons were also very friendly. (Maybe because they were a bit happy with the delicious margaritas!!!) It was a beautiful day in the sun with a variety of booths set up with food, drinks and wares. Live music from "Bruno and the Hooligans" had us up front and center dancing and singing. They were fabulous singing Bruno Mars, hence the name, and a few Amy Winehouse tunes. The watermelon margaritas were delicious! My friend had the spicy pineapple one. A dark cloud gathered above us as the sky opened up and began to pour. We continued to dance and sing laughing about the rain. Definitely a fun filled afternoon. So glad I went! read more

When I'm in the area, I like to bring my doggy to the off leash park or walk around the park. They have little hills so you can "hike" and get some exercise. Different sports leagues can play or practice at this park. I saw a soccer field, baseball field, and basketball courts. I believe they can host cross country as well. This is a very nice park. Has a lot of open fields and a hiking trail that can be rigorous depending on how fast you go and which route you take. The views in Santa Clarita are nice all around, but it's really cool when you get to the top of the hill. Typically I drive all the way to the end of the street and park there. Me and my gf will start the hike on the right side and go up the narrow path towards the loop around that leads to the water towers. It is short enough that you won't die when you get to the top, but you will be huffing and puffing. The grass here is pretty much green all the time and it is well maintained. All in all one of the better parks I've been to that have a lot of things to do. Baseball, workout, dog park, basketball courts (a lot of them), disc golf, etc. read more

Love Central Park. It's such a convenient walk from home. My boys enjoy playing basketball here, at least two or three times a week. The basketball court is huge, eight basketball rims. Great separate dog park as well. I love the hiking trails, fantastic way to enjoy nature and, get your work out at the same time. My favorite is, the Summer Concerts every Saturday in the Park. Rendition of Latin jazz, eighties funk, Country, And so much more. It starts the first Saturday in July and ends the last Saturday in August. It's sooooo much fun. Saturday July 15th 2017 will be the rendition of Earth, wind & Fire music. It's gonna be awesome. Come out and enjoy the beautiful weather & good food. Bring your blankets, picnic baskets and yes even your four legged friend. read more

The non profit I work for has a plot here for our clients to tend to. I'm not sure about the pricing, but it's a nice little garden to plants your fruits, flowers, veggies, and whatnot. There's a lot of space in between each plot so no ones on top of each other. Everyone is very friendly too, always ready to lend a hand or a seed. There's even a little chicken coop inside where you can purchase freshly laid eggs! It does have a code to get into, but people are usually pretty cool about letting you in if they see you out front. It's nice to just wander on a nice day outside. We come here at least a few times a week! read more

The "Mega Park" for Santa Clarita which holds everything from football practices, soccer games and summer concerts. Seriously, this place is littered with more rugrats, MILFs and SUV's than should be allowed at one time in one place. If you are into single moms, this place is also ground zero Monday to Thursday from 4-7 pm. Just show up and do your thing - I guess it would be like fishing in a barrel as the saying goes. Baseball/Softball fields - got 'em. Separate dog park/area - got it. Playgrounds - got 'em. Food concession stand - got it. Large open areas for football/soccer practices - got 'em. Like I said this is a mega park and when there are multiple things going on, parking is a mega pain. read more

Central Park is one of the biggest parks here in Santa Clarita. I thoroughly enjoyed walking and running here in high school. There are plenty of children playing soccer, basketball and jumping around on the playground or playing baseball on the field. There are multiple fields to use and plenty of bathrooms and places to hike around. There is also places to walk your dogs and hike up on the trails. In the summer and spring, there are events like concerts or food gatherings for people to hang out. I remember when Pokémon go was a huge thing and many people came to the park to walk around. It is peaceful, the parking is not an issue and a great place to take a date and socialize with friends. You can see a lot of people playing sports here throughout the day on the weekends. Very spacious and beautiful park. When my wife and I had dogs we'd come here very often to go to the dog park section. I recently stopped by to play Pokémon go. Very nice place to walk. A lot of events tend to happen here. Reasonable amount of poke stops and gyms. As for normal people stuff, the walking is still cool. Community garden, baseball, soccer field, disc golf if you're into that. There was one memorial that particularly caught my attention today. It was about the young adults and children that had lost their lives in car accidents. Really made me stop and think about my driving and my kids. read more

Such a great little garden: two children's, one butterfly, greenhouse for starters and chicken coup. Host workshops where community is welcome. Made some amazing smudge sticks where the host just plucked whatever we needed straight from the earth. We really enjoyed Central Park. It is very clean with a lot of open grass areas to run and play with my 2 year old. There are several trails and sidewalks to choose from. Next time if I come alone I will jog them. The playground is a bit small and there is only one structure for such a big park. However it is clean and new with a sand area. We will be back! read more

Perhaps it is because I am more of a reserved person, but I cannot stand Central Park. It can get very crowded, especially during the shows they host there in the summer. If you go to a park to unwind, i dont think this park is the best one to go to. However, it is a very good socializing park - they have a dog park where people can meet one another and talk about dogs or something. They have sports and host events there a lot. This is my home away from home. Haha. Its the biggest park in Santa Clarita. At night, theres almost always a bunch of people playing pick up basketball. Softball leagues and children's soccer and football fill up the many fields. There's a disc golf course and a cross country track hidden along the sides of the park as well. Theres a dog park for all of you dog lovers. You can take them off their leash and have them run free. If your into getting in some of these adult leagues around the city, the off ice is located at this park as well. Also, during the summer there is a concert series that has various bands play on saturday nights. read more

I've played here numerous times throughout the years and I have to say it's a fairly nice sports complex. There are numerous things you can do at this park given that it is so big- soccer, football, basketball, leash-less dog park, playgrounds, food stand (not always open though), and even running. The softball fields are pretty big and not gated off. Literally, it can be a hit-a-thon if you hit the right gap. Biggest park in the area with lights. Three basketball courts, 18 hole frisbee golf course, couple of softball fields with leagues all the time, fields for soccer, dog park, and a free weight work out area next to the basketball courts. Lights for the courts shut off around 10:30-10:45. read more

I love this park and the eggstravaganza egghunt however, the parents ruin it every yr. 2 min into the hunt parents run into the egg hunt area while the kids are picking up their eggs even though they are told not to. It's a dangerous situation. A huge wall of adults trampled over the kids and I couldn't even see or find my lil 5 yr old because of the stupid adults. I dont know how this could be helped. Why can't adults let the kids be kids and follow the damn rules. read more

This park is much bigger than it looks from the street. The road and parking go back towards the rear of the park. I haven't been here for a long time... I didn't remember it. We went today for the home and garden show. The only down side is that they had a handful of Andy gump porta potties and a couple of porta sinks.... Besides the wind blowing about 25 mph.
