After seeing a performance at Market Hall Performing Arts Centre, I needed a drink. I decided to get a drink from McDonald's and opened my app while seated in my parked car. The app had a medium iced coffee for $2. Considering that this day was long, I needed a bit of a caffeine boost to get me home. Sure, it was 9:30 pm. I'll take it! I also got some apple slices. I needed to snack on something as I headed home. Luckily, my drive was just over an hour. This McDonald's was 2.7 kilometres away and is open 24 hours a day. Nearby had a McDonald's inside a Walmart. Both stores were closed. It was a nice drive over to the restaurant. I got to figure out where everything was, from a HomeSense-Winners combo store, to the Grocery Outlet. I made a left turn and followed the signs leading me to the drive-thru. There were two lanes. I took the free one on the left. There was a car to my right that left a few seconds later. I got a man on the other end of the speaker. I gave him my order code. He asked me if I needed to change anything. It was a first and a nice touch. Normally, I don't get that question. I was fine with it. He talked fairly fast and said that I could move up. When I got to the window, it was the same fast-talking man who rattled off an order that I didn't recognize. The second item was a McDouble. I said no. It wasn't my order. It clicked that mine was the mobile order. Yes! He gave me my iced coffee and bag of apple slices. I thanked him and drove off. The iced coffee kept me alert and content. It hit the spot. It sort of curbed my appetite. The apple slices were the perfect snack. They were crunchy and naturally sweet.
