A day before my scheduled pickup, a friendly lady called to let me know the sod had been freshly cut and was ready. We have been working on our backyard for a couple of weeks, and I'd like to tell you about our experience with Central Sod, although I suspect that this is perhaps "just business as usual" for them, but for us, it was an exceptional way to end our backyard project with a smile! We tore down an old privacy fence and had a new one put up. We removed two very large sections of zebra grass which left us with over 1000 square feet of bare dirt in our newly fenced backyard. First I searched Home Depot and Lowe's for sod -- I had seen a few rolls at Lowe's when I was there on a recent trip to pick up supplies. Then I decided to do a random Google search for companies that actually specialize in sod. That 's when I came across Central Sod. Their pricing was better than the big box stores and we liked the idea of buying sod from the folks who are growing the grass instead of a going through a middleman. The online process was very easy and I could even schedule a delivery date right online. We had a big birthday party scheduled for the next day and my husband asked if we could get the sod in the morning so we could lay it before the company came at 3:00. I called Central Sod. Raul answered the phone and was both professional and a pleasure to talk with. He said it would be no problem to deliver the next day. I couldn't believe it! It was 5:00pm on a Friday and Raul said they could deliver the 1200 sq.ft. of sod that I needed the very next morning (I was thrilled!). I received a confirmation email and a text. Then I got a call from another Central Sod employee, Ryan, later that evening; he had been monitoring the weather and said storms were expected and wanted to know if we wanted the delivery "rain or shine" -- we did -- what great forethought to call and ask (in case you were wondering, the weather stayed in our favor and the storms didn't interfere with delivery or laying of the sod). The next morning (bright and early!) the Central Sod truck was in our driveway delivering the sod. They used a forklift and put the sod right where we needed it at the back of the house. They were in and out within 10 minutes and we were laying the sod by 8:15 that morning. We finished up around noon. When our guest arrived at 3:00, they couldn't believe the transformation from just the day before. Central Sod has provided one of the best customer service experiences we have had in quite a while.
