The cars are usually both presentable and punctual, often a rarity in local taxi firms. Recommended for anyone in the area. One thing is, from personal experience if you ask for a quote over the 'phone they obviously oblige and that's how much you get charged (essential for any important pre -booking obviously) However if you just state a destination and don't ask for a price, often the driver will charge less than the office would quote. I'm not sure why, I'm not sure if they should, but they do.

Because i've never used them for long distances i cant really speak about the prices but in the short rides i've had with them they seem fairly priced. Even though i used to live right by Dudley they never knew where my street was, even though its right off a main road. The base is often loud and its hard to hear what the guy on the phone is saying, causing confusion and added delay at times.

I'm a big fan of Royal Cars. Mainly because the telephone lady always makes polite chit-chat. I…read morethink she recognises my voice now. Even the drivers are quite chatty (which is good and bad in equal measure). Anyway, these guys are pretty reliable and the taxis always seem in good condition. Their fares are staggeringly low and I never feel like I am getting ripped off. One minor criticism: I'm always shocked by how the drivers struggle to find my address. Living in an apartment isn't that odd and my building has been here for 7 years.
