I needed to ship off a special item that could only be done by Fedex and had to be handed to an…read moreassociate. You can't ship a firearm by USPS or UPS and it can't go into a drop box. Also, it can only be shipped TO or FROM a Federal Firearms Licensee (i.e., a dealer). So today's shipment of my slightly broken pistol was declared and handed to the nice lady here at FedEx so that it could go to Smith & Wesson for repair. Some things you don't say loudly, like "I have a gun" but you do have to say "There is an unloaded firearm in this box" so that it is treated properly. And so today's service was pleasant. She did not want to see the inside of the box or confirm that it is unloaded, as that's on the shipper to ensure. I was handed a receipt with the tracking number and my package did arrive at Smith & Wesson a few days later as expected. Thanks for the service! [ADDING...
