In other words, she kept it streamline, asked pertinent questions and most importantly took down my emotions so we could get to business. I left her office confident she was the perfect advocate for my child. Ms. Proper knows her sh** and is highly regarded in her area of expertise. She knew the 'players' in Prince William County. She navigated the specific high school and the Kelley Center Special Needs Department. At the conclusion of our case, we chose to have her prepare a Medical Power of Attorney for which gave our family peace of mind. Now, what prompted this review? The unfair review of Ms. Proper which was unwarranted. Most attorneys require an initial consultation fee; their time is not free. Ms. Proper's fee is actually quite low and she doesn't mince words. Ms. Proper is an active listener, is sensitive to your needs, provides education on the law then informs if you have a case. If you have a case, she lays out the costs; either you seek representation or you don't. Ms. Proper also gives back to the community. What do I mean? Once a month/quarter she provides pro-bono (free) consultation at a local non-profit.

Considering I'm in another part of the country, it's challenging to go with anyone out of the blue. Therefore, it's the only reason I have tried to reach Mr. Beckwith twice but to no avail. I was promised the second time around that I would most certainly receive a phone call. It's been approximately a month and no one has bothered to respond back to either call. At the very least, if they didn't want to take on my case, someone from the firm could have the common decency to let me know they were too busy or simply not interested. Or, perhaps they could have called back with a recommendation to an esteemed colleague who actually had time to focus on a new case. Mr. Beckwith worked for the aforementioned attorney GRATIS. It's mind boggling he and/or his firm can't be bothered to pick up the phone for a potential paying client. Not only is this unprofessional, but it is rude, discourteous, and arrogant. How can you trust someone like this to handle your case? The attorney who recommended him absolutely concurs - their lack of care and concern is inexcusable. In fact, he finds it quite shocking and will probably never recommend them to anyone ever again. Here's a little Business 101 - most business is word of mouth.
