I first went to this Climic because I wanted to get a second opinion for some dental work. I had consulted in Ottawa, and I heard that prices on the Quebec side might be a little less expensive, and that my dental insurance would cover me in another province.
I first had a consult with a Denturologiste, who took photos and measurements and spoke to me about solutions for missing teeth and improving my smile. The consult was free of charge, and I ended up getting a free x-ray, which the dentist could use if I chose to get an exam.
The staff at the reception were über-friendly, so I managed to get a cleaning later that same day. I had a young & professional hygienist do a very thorough cleaning and she again took photos with a small device to show me things in my mouth I'd never seen!
I waited a bit for the dentist, and though he looked "imposing" at first, his smile was comforting and he spoke English very well. He checked my x-rays, showed which cavities were priorities, which ones could wait, and why. I felt more like his colleague rather than just another client to "drill & fill".
I got an estimate for the work, which I could then check with my insurer. The secretaries said I could call back for an appointment when I wanted & that there would be no problems. The electronic insurance submission responded immediately and all I had to pay was a 25$ fee for my first transaction.
All in all, for a (dreaded) trip to the dentist, I was pleasantly surprised. I'll let you know how the filling went! read more
