This particular location/set of realtors was recommended to me by USAA. Which is unfortunate, because until this point I had never been lead astray when following a USAA recommendation. This, however, is the exception. The realtor I had worked with, who was partnered closely with Advantage Gold Realty (See relevant reviews: http://www.yelp.com/biz/advantage-gold-realty-jacksonville) had such a busy schedule that they were unable to respond to my voicemails or emails until 10-14 days after I left them. At the same time, I was told only after the fact about the poor condition of the property AFTER a showing took place. That was three months ago. I just received notification of a negative review of the SECOND showing since property listing on June 3, 2014. Once again, no steps were taken by the realtor or their partnered property managed company to notify me or to correct deficiencies with the location after the first negative showing. It's almost as if they don't WANT to sell the property, because they aren't willing to notify me, or take any other steps that require them to do any work, in order to ensure the property is taken care of in a meaningful way. Zillow recommended Sharon who served as my realtor. After having some concerns about her service I reached out to the head broker, Shirley, and she did not have time to listen to my issues. They were both dismissive, apathetic and condescending. If you are looking for a brokerage that cares about your best interest or overall customer satisfaction then keep looking, because this ain't it! read more

While I cant speak for the entire company I can speak about Taylor Greene and his assistant Melissa. A common saying I hear alot sround realty is "there is no better praise than recieving your referrals". I would refer no one else in the east carolina area other than Taylor. He is the quintessential professional that realtors should strive to be and customers should look towards working with. I have worked with him both selling and buying a home and there has never be an easier purchase. Taylor is patient answers all questions throughly and ensures you get the best deal, that makes you happy, as possible. Absolutely horrible experience here. We're new buyers and wanted someone to guide us through the process of purchasing our first home. The realtor we had an appointment with was amazing...and as amazing, professional and courteous as she was I couldn't bring myself to have any of my hard earned dollars contribute to their daily operations, and we went elsewhere. I suggest you do the same. I pass through every month or so to pay my check at the adjoined AGR office (see that review), but this review is based on the one afternoon interaction I had with the Century 21 office proper. It was somewhat busy in the entry, but the greeter/secretary/lady sitting at the desk seemed to be counting down the minutes until she left - not very friendly, and didn't seem to have any idea where the agents were. We were gestured over to the chairs while she figured things out. As we waited, a young family came in with their children to see someone about something. An elderly gentleman came out and acted every bit like the small office manager that he may or may not have been - arms crossed and annoyed with the fact that they were there. After about 10-15 seconds of projecting an "I'm generally annoyed" aura (which he did very well), he finally offered them assistance with their inquiry. I didn't hear what he said, but what I "read" was "*sigh* wait right here with your screaming kids while I try to find someone to deal with you". We took our home buying business to Keller Williams and could not be any more pleased with our decision. We move-in in July. read more

Another terrible experience. We're moving across country, and my wife is there by herself trying to find some place for us to live. She was working with a woman named Jane Burger who told her that she didn't have time to help my wife find a place to live, that she should just ride around and find something herself. She also said that she wasn't making any money on us renting and that we should just buy something, even though we aren't sure we're staying in Jacksonville. My wife asked to apply for a particular house on several occasions and she was ignored each and every time. A second woman that my wife tried working with there, sent my wife a text message by mistake, in which she described my wife as "some chick". I emailed the owner (Shirley Morrison) of the firm and made a formal complaint. It's been a little more than a week and she just returned my call today. She did in fact apologize, stating that she does not condone such behavior, and that she expects better of her agents. She said she had given both women a talking to. Quite frankly, Ms Burger should be glad she doesn't work for me, because she'd have been fired on the spot. I can promise the folks at Century 21 Sweyer that they will never make any money off of my family, and if I can help it, my friends. I don't care if we find the absolute perfect house to buy, if Sweyer has anything to do with it, it'll rot before we buy it. Renters.. Stay far, far away. The good reviews here are likely the exception, not the rule. Owners.. If you need to have someone manage your property, don't stop here. read more

To summarize: my husband and I are completely new to the area and don't know anything about it. We enlisted Wes Hart's help in the buying process. He's been incredible! Down to earth and doesn't mind taking you around to learn about areas. He's very professional and friendly. He's taken us to see a lot of homes and although we haven't found exactly what we're looking for yet, we are confident he'll help us find it. It's nice to have a patient realtor who cares about finding his clients the right place for them vs just selling a home. He certainly earns his pay and we're so glad we found him! Short story-We were PCSing to the area and William Corzo worked his tail off to find us a rental property. I can't speak for the rest of the staff because the only person we worked with was William Corzo. He did an excellent job representing Century21. Until working with him, I didn't like going to the large realty companies for renting, but the help we received was sincere. We were a bit picky, but William worked with us for almost a week straight viewing multiple properties, including on the weekend. Thoroughly impressed with him, and if he is an accurate representation of this office, you want to use them for your real estate needs. read more

I came in to sign my lease and pay my deposit. First, the office was very cramped and have very little room for people to sit and walk. The lady at the front desk didnt seem very excited to help anyone. I literally walked in, and waited about thirty seconds before she looked away from her computer to address me. Next, I was put in a room where the lady told me to watch a video, told me to initial my lease papers, and then left once she put the video on. The video was of some other lady explaining vague lease terms. And while the video was playing, I was trying to follow along on my lease, but the video didn't elaborate as much as I would have liked and I was forced to skip parts, which left me with too many unanswered questions. It may have been different if they were nearby to assist in my understanding, but I was left alone and secluded from anyone who could help. Not to mention the fact that the room they put me in was under construction, so the blue tarp covering the ceiling kept making loud, distracting noises every time the wind blew against it. When the video was over, I pretty much had to go over the lease from the start and read everything to try and understand it. The lease also didn't reflect what their listing had promised. The lady at the front desk also seemed to busy with her computer work to give the customers a pleasant face-to-face run down of what was needed or what was to be done. When I was finally done asking questions and signing my lease, they seemed very unorganized when it came down to getting the key. It was all very impersonal, unorganized, rushed but slow process...I had to ask a bunch of questions to get any helpful information. When I was shown the property, it was also riddled with about fifty dead beetles and bugs. I cleaned up and moved in and the lock box is still on my door knob. read more

Irina Stocker is the absolute greatest agent! She was always helpful with answering whatever questions my fiance or I had about the homebuying process. Unfortunately, due to terrible circumstances, we had to stop looking for houses, but the whole time that she was our agent, she always made herself available. She was even very helpful to my fiance who was very ill at the time, by handling an issue outside of Century 21 with a matter that involved his previous landlord. She took the time to personally contact the former realty company and have a talk to help straighten things out. Just can't thank her enough. read more

Worst Agency EVER. We own a home and doing renovations so we decided to rent for 6 months starting in Jan. First since my husband was retiring in April and his income was dropping to 2000 month and with my income of 3400 a month, they denied us because "we didn't make enough". The rental was $1250 month so if we couldn't afford that, its crazy. Obviously we got the house and it looked horrible when we got it. Floors filthy, Walls dirty, paint blotchy and so forth. We had told them the toilet needed repaired when we moved in because it had the ":guts" stripped out of it and it took 6 wks for them to call us to fix it, but of course, we fixed it ourselves. We had a water leak (that they covered up with paint), and they sent someone out and they had to talk to the "boss" because it needed repaired. We never heard anything. Finally we went downtown and complained and the city even said it needed fixed. The agency lied to the city and said everything was fine. There is mold in that house and I know that because our kids are allergic to mold. They were sick all the time, coughed every night and so forth. It was awful. During the ice storm, our heat went out. We called them, but of course they were closed and they don't have an emergency line to call, you have to leave a voicemail at the office. After no answers, it dropped down into the 50's in the house and us having 5 young children, it was freezing in there so we stayed at a hotel the 2nd night of no heat. Finally on day 3 they had someone come out and fix it. The agency said they would not refund us the hotel stay because 50 is fine to live in when law is anything below 70 in the winter. The heat and ac had gone out multiple times, termite damage which they never fixed and so much more. We have asked to speak to the owner, and they refuse to let us talk to her apparently because we have yet to get a call. Thank goodness tomorrow is our move out inspection and sure enough it will pass, looks 100% times better than it did when we got there. Also, today we had chimney cleaned and inspected, carpets cleaned and so forth and I get to the house with 2 cars there and the door open and someone is looking at the house. We still had a couple of items in there and no one called us to tell us anyone was coming at all. I had last minute cleaning to do and luckily, I didn't call the police. We even told the agency when they called to tell us of a showing at 5pm today that the pest control was coming at 4pm to spray and no one can enter for 4 hours. They didn't care. So who ever went in there could slip and fall or even get sick and they don't seem to care about anything. So, if you want to rent, do a rental by owner, DO NOT GO THROUGH THIS COMPANY EVER. We have rented our home before and treated our tenants with respect and fixed anything that needed done within hours. This company takes weeks to months to do anything and will even lie to get out of things. So please, do not rent 820 Commons Dr until everything is fixed unless you want your kids sick and def do not go through this company. read more
