Never, ever again. Every single time I go to a movie here the entire place is filthy. Even though I can select a seat ahead of time, I have had to switch seats a few times because the people behind me put their feet up on the back of my seat. There are no staff available to check in on theaters to dissuade people from doing this, so it persists throughout the movie. I had a terrible Father's Day experience with my son at this theater. After ordering a $10 beer and kids snack pack, I noticed the popcorn was less than half full. I asked for it to be filled, like it had been for the last 15 years of taking my kids to this theater, and they said no. I asked the manager and she said that's how it should be. I contacted the GM Jeremy and he said the same thing with a ridiculous cut and paste email. So rude I'm never going again. This theater and Cinemark should understand why this is frustrating, and shrink the container if they want to be that cheap. read more

My wife and I went to go see Inception here a few days ago. We got to the theater about 45 minutes early. My wife went to go get some Tea and I went to go save us some seats. I walked into the theater and noticed it was completely empty. Well... except for the couple in the last row. I didn't see the guy, but I saw the girl's back. She was sitting on his lap, facing him and rocking back and forth. I overheard her say something along the lines of "No, I'm not bleeding yet". Stunned - and not really wanting to have a confrontation - I left the theater and went to find my wife. I must have made some noise and scared them because a guy followed me out of the theater about 30 seconds later. I didn't really care that much (although I'm glad I knew what seats to avoid) - but then I saw the guy talk to some of the other employees and go into a "restricted area" and realized that HE WORKED THERE! After we got our refreshments (read: flat soda), we went back to the theater and were glad that other patrons had taken their seats while we were away. We got our good (and reasonably comfortable) seats and waited for the show. We then had the seemingly-now-required pre show "entertainment" blaring at us for a half an hour about terrible movies and TV shows. Unpleasant, but we can deal with that. However, at 7pm when the movie was supposed to start, the pre-show entertainment froze. For about 10 minutes. An employee came in and said that the movie would be starting a few minutes late. The projector software then "crashed" and we were presented with a Windows XP desktop. We all sat there for about 10 more minutes and they finally told us that the movie wouldn't be showing. They offered everyone vouchers for other movies - but we were from out of town and did not intend to come back to this terrible theater. When we explained our situation, the manager quickly refunded our credit cards. (I also made a point to say that I wouldn't have bought a $5 soda if it wasn't for the movie, and he refunded our concession purchases as well) (I also think we should have been somehow compensated for being subjected to ads for 30 minutes... because they clearly made money off of that... but that wasn't a battle I decided to fight) Now... I understand that technical glitches happen sometimes. But maybe if their employees weren't so busy fooling around with their girlfriends in the theaters, they'd be able to concentrate more on making sure that things are working properly. The only bright spot in the visit is that we got all of our money back. Unfortunately, we got none of our time back. read more

Reserved seating? Came to see hotel Transylvania 2 to have a very rude 18 year old tell me "we have RESERVED SEATING now, I suggest you buy tickets online". Been going to see movies for about a decade now, never ever had this problem, or had a youngster be so unprofessional and rude. Came here for the first time for a special screening of an up coming movie. The staff at the theater was very friendly and accommodating upon entry. The seats were very roomy and comfortable to watch a movie in. The bathrooms were also well kept and when the movie was over the staff was eager to get in and clean up and get set for the next show. read more

*Gasp* no review from me on this theatre yet? Insanity. Anyway, my husband and I go to this theatre on occasion to see a movie. It's a lot cleaner (I don't think the floors have ever been sticky, actually!) than the one in Louisville, and not as far a drive for us. The theatres never seem all that crowded (granted we don't go to movies on Friday or Saturday nights all that often either, I like to avoid peak times) and we usually can get whatever seats we want in there. I never buy food at movie theatres, so I can't comment on that, but I believe they even serve ice cream and Starbucks in there? Maybe I'm wrong... but it looks like they have a wide selection. Anyway, I recommend it. I'm not a huge fan of theatres in general, but this one is definitely not bad. read more

Pros: Unbeatable location; right in the heart of Boulder and 5 mins from home. There is a free, underground parking garage with ample parking - a great perk in the winter. I also like the assigned seats so you don't have to rush once you get your tickets. Cons: Confusing concession counters! After buying tickets, you get funneled into the ice cream/coffee counter where you can't buy popcorn. Um, who orders and drinks coffee during a movie? Maybe this is a Colorado thing... Anyways, moving around the ice cream counter, we were wondering where the hell to order popcorn from! Caught a kids attention and he gave us our popcorn, and only our popcorn. He can't walk 2 steps to grab a pickle. Gotta go to the pickle counter and order it there! Can't order drinks here - turn around and there is the soda machine. The logistics of the drink station are all wrong. Why do 10 lids fly at you when you attempt to grab one?? Where are the effing straws? I felt like we were starring in Maze Runner, when we only wanted to get snacks and go to the movie!! This was really annoying. At checkout it makes more sense - a grab N go concession stand. Great idea but should be explained when you buy your tickets. Only other con is the theatre seating. Talk about smashed in! No leg room, no arm room - but seats were comfy enough. Summing up, not the best first impression, but I'm sure it will get better on the next visit. read more

Dirty concession areas and the theatres aren't as nice and clean as they once were.. The manager and attendants were actually pretty sarcastic and rude. The bag policy is tough if you rode the bus and just have what you have with you, result is no place to put your bag or purse thus no movie. The only reason why I would write a review on a movie theater is because I had to mention something about it that everyone should know. I like the big movie theater and all but the rocking chairs are annoying. I wish there was more space between the chairs because I kept kicking the person in front of me which would cause his chair to rock. When I started laughing (because Superbad was hilarious!) my chair started rocking and kept hitting the person behind me on the knees. I KNOW that the person behind me was pissed off because he started kicking my chair. I was trying so hard to keep my chair in place by holding onto the cup-holder-armrest but it was an effort. Let me tell you! That is all. I had to let out that frustration a little and Yelp was the perfect place to let the world know about it. read more

Not great, bob. Theatre itself is fine, normal cinemark style. But I saw baby driver for a second time here (after a first at another theatre) and it was borderline unwatchable, the sound quality was so bad. Completely flat. I am a film nerd but honestly would have been a better experience watching it on a laptop. I asked an employee if it was possible to turn up the sound even a fraction to make the film more enjoyable. He was pleasant and said he would ask a manager but nothing changed. Oh well, wouldn't come back here anyway, but I'm not joking when I say it'd be worth it to drive all the way to Denver just so you could sit your ass in a real theatre like the Alamo drafthouse, where they actually have the resources to make the movie going experience special. Sadly, quality plagued theatres like this one are doing half the battle in killing the big screen (coupled with prices - reasonable here, at least, competitively). read more

I love the $5 Tuesday's but I hate people refuse to sit in the seats they purchased then are scared of telling people to move. Went into a movie that had no seats left and people were sitting in my purchased seats. I was with some friends so my usual response to "someone took my seat also" was a bit more lax. read more

As far as movie theaters go, I really only go here because it's closer than Flatirons. Every time I come here I feel like the theatre has not been cleaned. Yes, a typical movie theatre will have popcorn on the floor occasionally, I give you that, but this environment feels especially dirty. The staff usually isn't too plesent, it's only on occasion when I'm treated with respect or some sort of courtesy. They have a good candy selection (overpriced though) and the theaters themselves are pretty standard(not too much leg room). They do not give a student discount to highschool students, you must have a college ID available of you wish to receive a student discount. Overall, not my favorite, but not too bad either. I certainly wouldn't go to a movie here just because I don't like the environment, but if I had a choice I would go elsewhere. read more

You cannot sell assigned seats when you don't have reclining seats for the front. This movie theater should be first come first serve because of its smaller size and non reclining seats. You will loose business. Don't go to this theater ever. read more

I don't live in Boulder but this is the closest movie theater complex with stadium seating to where I live. That's the only reason i'm giving this place 3 stars. Well-lit underground parking is a big plus. Best food deal and definitely the best concession items are the double scoop of Boulder Ice Cream and Starbuck's coffee. First three rows in every theater are pretty worthless because they're way too close to the screen. Cleanliness does not seem to be a forte here - popcorn kernels cover the carpeted hallways and the tiled floors in the common areas could use a good mopping As far as movies go, they offer the latest box office hits and occasionally throw in a bone to indie film fans. I'll keep coming to this theater until there is a decent one where I live. read more

Tonight I had one of the most freighting things happen at a Boulder's Century Theater. I was watching American Made with my wife and a person came up to sit between us and another couple. The person was obviously stoned/drunk/on something and was laughing at scenes that depicted death and torture. The person smelled of BO and was stuffing popcorn in his mouth and spilling on me and the guy on the other side of him. 10 minutes into the movie the guy gets up and abruptly leaves, I followed him out as I had a bad feeling about him. He left the auditorium , when I returned to my seat I noticed he left behind a backpack. I went down and told the manager of the theater, she proceeded to say ok we will look into it. I went back up to my seat and looked behind me and no one was coming. I asked the gentleman on the other side of the empty chair if the backpack was his, he said no and we proceeded to look into the pack and noticed baggies and and something red. At that point I picked up the backpack and left the auditorium with it, I asked for the manager to get it out of there, and she said what do you want me to do with it. So I walked it out. Returned to the auditorium and the guy came back 30 minutes later, I told him I took the backpack out and another guest said he was disruptive and should leave. He did. After the show the Manager came and confronted me telling me I handled the situation poorly and that I had no business asking the guy to leave as he had a medical emergency. Several people tried to explain the situation to her and she was not interested in listening to their observations. She continued to tell me I was in the wrong and that I should leave and not come back. I have lived in Boulder for 53 years, owned 3 companies here and been an active person in the community and am told this...unreal! I guess from here on out I will visit AMC Theaters in Broomfield, with comfortable reclining chairs and small auditoriums where my safety isn't threatened and no one will be allowed to place a backpack under a chair and leave...remember Aurora. Organic Ice Cream and Movies can it get any better?

This is the place Boulder goes.....is it because it rocks or is extra special? No. We choose this theater because it is the only real choice we've got if we want to watch a new release in Boulder....that said, they do have stadium seating and it is clean and reasonably maintained. I prefer the AMC theatres a few miles away in Broomfield, but am just lazy enough to stay in town and see films here. read more

They got new seats in this theater, probably due to the AMC theater taking away a lot of customers with their plush leather recliners! While Century didn't go that far, they have nicer fake leather seats with more padding and I would say it definitely improved my moviegoing experience. I now have no issue coming here since the crummy seats are gone, and on Tuesdays tickets are 2 for the price of one! read more

First the seats are very uncomfortable. No matter how often you recline or adjust, it is always uncomfortable. Second, the popcorn is stale every time I visited. Third, I come from Longmont and I don't have a vehicle. I carry my backpack to hold my jacket, bottled water, sunglasses, and books. So now they have a no back pack policy. I am heading to a matinee and won't allow my pack. This is a college town full of students. I will never return to this theatre again. read more

Went on a busy Holiday and had short lines for tickets and munchies. Theater was clean and I lived the assigned seating.

My gf and I went to a movie (Super 8) on July 4th. During the previews, I said (yelled) to her, "aren't these trailers extra loud?" When Super 8 started, we spent ~1/2 of the first 20 minutes of the movie covering our ears. Went left shortly thereafter and complained to mgmt. They did refund our money. This place has the audio WAY TOO L-O-U-D!! The seating is also VERY limited (each theater is very small) and will sell out fast for any decent movie. Overall, a poor construction design and very poor audio control (by choice perhaps). read more

Convenient location, parking isn't too hard to find in the garage, but don't go there on a weekend night without purchasing tickets in advance. Plan ahead and you won't be disappointed. Also, be aware that high school students don't get the student rate. There are good restaurants nearby (Laudisio's is next door/above if you want to splurge) so you can go to dinner and a movie without driving anywhere. read more

Used to love this theater, but the new seat selection system ruined the experience. Wasn't able to sit with the people I came with because every time one of us would buy a ticket, the seats surrounding would sell out. Plenty of open seats once we got in the theater though. Encourages people to show up late, which seems unfair to those of us just dropping in and looking for a decent seat with our friends. Probably won't continue to come to this theater until this system is gone. So unfortunate, otherwise a great theater, been coming here for years. read more

Warning to bikers! I rode my bike all the way to the theater to watch a movie that I paid for online. I was told I that I could not come in with my backpack. Keep in mind this wasn't a large hiking backpack - it was a day bag, like children use for books. When I asked what I should do with it they told me to "Call a friend to pick it up" or to "just stash it somewhere". The movie was starting in about two minutes there was no time to call a friend (not that I would ever do that anyway) and I wasn't going to stash it somewhere since it held my helmet, headlamp, gloves, etc. When I spoke with the manager he wasn't remotely apologetic and wouldn't work with me in any way. I even offered to have them search my bag and they wouldn't do it. He said signs were posted stating the policy and that is true. Two small 8x11 inch signs were on the wall, but this doesn't help someone who bought their ticket on line and then rode their bike to the theater. The manager never offered to hold the backpack while I watched the movie, never offered to make an exception, never apologized and never smiled. If they are to have this policy then how about providing lockers in the lobby so you can lock up your belongings. This is Boulder and is supposed to be biker friendly after all. read more

Will not go here again. Only one ticket booth open despite long line for matinees. They make you pick a specific seat, which takes even longer in line. You then stand in another line for popcorn and drinks, and another line to pay for them. By the time I finally got to my seat, a woman 4 empty seats away starts yelling at me that people eating popcorn "bother" her so I can't sit there. I considered leaving but had driven 25 miles to see a new release that was only here or at the Mayan in Denver. I moved. This woman then has the nerve to reengage with me after the lights come up. If course, no usher anywhere. Ruined my afternoon. Won't be back. read more
