Century link customer service is crap. I had completely paid off the bill in June. Typically its around $50 a month, so when i recieved my $75 bill in July, i was pretty confused. We (my roommate and i) called them up to see what the deal was. They were short, rude and treated us like we were stupid. Apparently this charge was from 3 months prior when we had fell behind. 1 time! We have had their services for almost a year and usually dont have a problem. They said sometimes it can take a couple months for a charge to post. Bullshit. They wouldnt do anything else. They claimed they couldnt do anything and only corporate could. But yet wouldnt provide a phone number. Needless to say, we will be ending our services after this year. We are not the only ones who have been screwed by Century Link. Most of my friends and co workers have had issues with them. Hire employees that arent snotty and stuck up. read more

No service, no people to provide updates, no valid information on when internet will return. Internet has been down for 24 hours. Yesterday the CenturyLink robots said service was being worked on and would return by 10pm. At 10:01 the robots said service would return by 2pm today August 7). Very poor service, Comcast is starting to look good again. read more

Had internet for 9 months, it was slow. I had issues with steaming TV. June 25th it started to frequently try to load and then drop my connection. On June 27th I completely lost my server. Checked with the app online and they said my service would be back up by 11:00 the following day. Got home from work and still no service. Called the help line talked to a person and could not get an answer to what the problem was. Promised service the following morning June 29th by 11:00 Am. Again no service. Checked my online app and got a message that it would be July 1st 11:00 AM before service would be restored. Called them Saturday the 29th to cancel my service and was told they are unable to do this on a weekend I would need to call billing on July 1 to do this. Unplugged my equipment and went to a new provider, hooked up and was running an hour later. Called Monday July 1st and got an apology and told my lines in were old and they would replace and give me better service and please give a chance and "you can cancel your service with your new provider within 30 days so just use them until we can fix your problem. " I was like "No." Then I was told dont pay the bill it is incorrect and we will fix it and only charge for the days you used us. My bill is still not fixed, it is now overdue. Called today and was told pay it and we will send a refund. I said no. 30 minutes later I was told she cant help me and call billing on Monday. REALLY? Worst customer service ever. read more

Went to store several months ago closed on a Sunday made another trip recently to pay bill at store store looks closed up and gone thank you CenturyLink DSL/DirectTV What ever happened to customer service in a highly competitive area of need for consumers. To get a $75 refund of a service that was never installed, spent over 6 hours on the phone over a week. Would get a different story from every employee. Called the 'Financial' department, they say they would transfer me to the 'Minnesota' office. After a 20 minute wait, they say they would transfer me back to 'Financial'. Then while transferring the call would get dropped. This has happened 3 times. Finally they say they have issued a refund. 3 of their geniuses say they only issue refunds by check. Never received check. 3 others say refunds would be issued to credit card that it was issued against. Never received credit. Supervisors are even dumber. Centurylink is charging me $105.89 per month for home phone plus 7Mbps internet. Way over priced. I am looking for a better deal.

Terrible service! They advertise $20 per month and then charge at least twice that, JUST FOR STANDARD INTERNET. Then they charged me over $100 for one month and could not give me the reason. I canceled my "membership" and the amount was supposed to be prorated since I canceled mid month. I was charged $160 for terrible service that I didn't even use - for LESS THAN one month. Then they say "well, there's a cancelation fee if you cancel before 1 year is up." They never once mentioned that when they canceled it for me. Never, never use this company. They rip you off and will not give you accurate information. read more

I have been with CenturyLink for 30 years!!! Last Wednesday night we had a storm, and it knocked out my phone service and interenet service. I called first thing Thursday morning, I was on the phone with them for over 40 minutes. They told me that the next time they could get a technician out was today, Tuesday. I work out of my home. I was very upset. I was told I would receive a call from a supervisor in 15 minutes. I received the call 2 hours later. I have her voice message, and she said that there would be a technician out on Tuesday, that would be today. Last night I called Centurylink, to make sure they were coming today, and was on the phone again for 30 minutes with them. They informed me that the two customer service people I spoke with last week, never wrote up a service order. They then informed me that Centurylink could not be out to help until tomorrow, Wednesday. I called Xfinity at once, set up new service and they are coming tomorrow, Wednesday, between 8am and 10am. I called CenturyLink this morning and canceled all of my service with them, phone, Fax, Internet. They tried to get me to stay, offering $240.00, spread out over the course of a year! I said, you have kept me from doing my job for a week, and that is how you want to handle it??? I canceled all of my services. There was a knock on the door, 15 minutes after I canceled all services, it was two Centurylink technicians!!!! How screwed up are they????? I am glad I am no longer with Centurylink!!!!
