I really wanted to write a good review for Certa Pro painters. I waited several months since our painting was done to be sure we were not over reacting. We have used Certa Pro painters in three other states that we've lived in and have always been very pleased with the work, but unfortunately this time it has left us disappointed. We had interior painting done last fall. There were countless drips & paint mishaps left on the floors in every room, door trims, kitchen cabinets, etc. I had to touch up the white trim & cabinets before Christmas since we had guests coming to visit. I found dozens more splatters on the floors recently as I washed the floors on my hands & knees after other upgrade projects were completed. Pics of just a handful are attached. I scraped up a lot before I started taking pictures. It doesn't seem they used drop cloths at all. The bathroom floor had a partial paint footprint behind the door. The biggest disappointment is the way the wall paint now appears around the door frames & shower stall. You can see where the wide brush marks and rolling were not blended. The wall trim paint looks like a brushed stripe in comparison to the rolled paint.....around all the doors. Simply put, it looks awful. We've never seen this before with Sherwin Williams paint which we've been using for over 30 years. Poor quality work, poor clean up, sloppy edges. I gave them 2 stars only because the coffered ceiling paint came out nice even though there were numerous drips on the floor in that area. read more

This is by far, the WORST managed and performing painting company I've dealt with in my 23 years of home ownership in the same home. The painter and his "apprentice" of 6 months was not what I was told would be doing the work. Really? An apprentice doing a professional job? No thank you. I canceled my contract in less than 8 hours after watching the oh so simple and basic work being preformed. CertaPro is all talk. Hire another company. read more

Our house is currently being painted by CertaPro, Marco's team. Our property is challenging and has lots of wood rot and repairs. I can't say enough nice things about our paint crew. They arrive early, are always on time and stay until the job is done. They come to work with great attitudes and respect the customer. They've gone above and beyond to meet expectations and requests. This is a full service company where you have an assigned project Mgr, Sales Mgr and even the owner has been to our home to make sure all goes smoothly. Neris and his crew did a great job painting the exterior of our house, the deck, and the walls of our garage. They were professional and paid attention to detail. Throughout our time we spoke with MaRanda and Julia (I am not quite sure what their roles are). 4/27 we signed our agreement with them. We let them know that we would be getting new windows installed that we wanted to wait to paint until after the job was done. As of 5/30 we told them we were ready to move forward. We were told that the anticipated start date was 6/19 and that "We will narrow your start date down as we approach it and provide at least 1-2 days' notice." As of 6/27 we had no update so I reached out to see when we could expect painters out. We got an email stating that we could not be given a specific time but we're currently expected to begin pressure washing 6/29. We got an email with the wrong proposal-which my husband pointed out to them. Our painting, done by Ed and a woman he worked with, took about a week due to inclement weather. 7/10 we received an email with the final bill as well as the company wanting us to verbally confirm our complete satisfaction. I responded the same day letting the company know that we were unhappy with a few things-nails left on the ground, paint on our sliding door frame, split caulking, & overspray on the trim. 7/12 we were told that the company would be out next week to fix the issues. As of 7/19 we had not heard from anyone as to what day we could expect Ed to be out to fix the issues. My husband sent an email stating his frustration and expectations. The response we got was sub par, and untruthful. The response stated that there was a message left "on the 12th indicating Ed would be out on Friday." While I did receive a voicemail on the 12th there was no specific date as to when I could expect Ed back out. We were then told in the same email that we would get a call tomorrow (7/18) to confirm. We did not receive a call. I did send a follow up email on 7/20 stating our frustrations. I was told that Ed would be back the next day to fix the issues at hand, and if it took more than a day that he would return. We received an email 7/21 stating that he would not be able to come due to the weather that the next availability would be the following Monday. Fast forward again, Ed did come on Monday. I ran a few errands while he was working and when I returned, Ed was no longer there. I figured that he was coming back the next day as I could see the caulking on the front of my house. I emailed the company back in the afternoon of 7/24 asking if Ed would return the next day. When I spoke with Maranda, I shared that the issues remained and the job was not completed. I sent pictures & when I spoke with MaRanda again she explained that she had spoken to the owner of the company, and they decided not to send Ed out again, but to send a different crew. 7/26, I let MaRanda know there were more areas of concern. She stated that we would stay in touch while Francisco was here to make sure everything was addressed. Francisco & his men were great. Francisco had me walk around and show him our concerns. He himself said that it was no good, and shook his head in disbelief. Francisco came to get me later to show me that Ed had let paint spill over the bucket and onto our pavers. Francisco and his crew worked diligently and fixed everything! Francisco did not leave until I walked the house with him and was completely satisfied with his job. He also stated if I saw some thing I was unhappy with to please reach out that he would come back and fix whatever we needed. Short story: While I will never use CertaPro painters again, nor would I recommend them, I do recommend Francisco and his crew. If you choose to use CertaPro be sure to request that his crew do your job! My husband nor my concerns were taken seriously until I sent pictures. Neither of us feel like the communication was prompt or empathetic. We did request a deduction from our bill for the hassle to which they obliged. read more

Hired this company to paint our ceilings. Their estimate wasn't right. Due to their incomplete estimate they wanted more money to fix their error. Parts of our ceilings are still yellow and multiple rooms looked like they didn't even paint the entire ceiling. They would not come back to fix their error unless we paid them more money. If you want the job done right, hire someone else! read more

I wanted my house painted on the out side. First step I got 3 quotes and made my decision. I choice CertaPro Painters out of Buford. Chose the colors set a date to start the project. Two weeks before the start date got a phone to start the project that week. I told them no I wanted to wait until the start. The next week once again got calls to start the project that Friday. Again I told them wasn't ready. But I would call on Friday. Did call to let Brain know to come on. He said the guy that was going to pressure wash the house call me on Monday. No call just showed up. Then was down hill. All the wood work was not done and what was done had to be redone. On the second I did a walk around the house and the front door was a nightmare. Called Brain ne came out yes he ask them to redo the wood work on the front porch. Redo the front door and trim and added $100.00 +. Yes I agree only because I wanted my door to say WOW when everyone saw it. Not what the hell. The touch was half done. When they clean up it was not done in the area I designated for him was not used. The front grass side of the house is now blue. On the last day the clean up was pasted over. My husband spend two days cleaning everything up. I can't prove it but Brain did tell me when he came out. The project manager was a good painter but was now a project manager. I feel like I was the first project he was on and he and the one guy with was to much. I paid $8000.00 for this work and a lot of it wasn't done right. Yes I can have them to come back day after day. When I did my walk around he kept telling me he could get it preface. I told every person I spoke to the date to start and they I would be out of town 4 days prior to the start date. Hind sight is 20 20. Just feel like no one listed to me at all. My husband and I will do the touch up. read more

13 years ago, we had Certapro repaint our home, using cottage-type pastels. A couple of months ago, I noticed the siding on our western end was beginning to fade, so I called Certapro out for a quote for a complete exterior repaint. After we agreed on $3400, they scheduled to work to begin on 9/24/12. The work crew, led by Arturo, were neat, clean, and polite. To facilitate their access to all sides, I spent 4 hours the day before trimming back shrubs and other plants away from the walls, and moving planters and lawn furniture on the porch and deck. They pressure washed the house on Monday, came back Tuesday to scrape off loose paint, caulk gaps and holes, and nail down any protruding siding, gutter, and trim nails. Wednesday, they painted all day, starting on one end and going around the house twice so that all surfaces were double-coated. Thursday, they finished up trim and accent items. They cleaned up after themselves, worked as a team, and did a fine job. 13 years from now, I'll happily call them back out. In the meantime, I'm doing too many 4 and 5 star reviews on here. Time to lurk for a coupla 2's, 3's, or (mwaa haa) a 1. Don't want anyone to think I'm going all Pollyanna and stuff........ read more

In early September, I got an estimate from this company for some interior work. I explained that my wife was traveling and that I needed it completed before the end of September so I could surprise her upon her return. The estimator complimented me on being such a thoughtful husband and told me they were scheduling out two weeks so there would be no problem getting it down within the timeframe. Eventually, we reached a time where the job could not have been completed and, in fact, the scheduler finally called me on the day I was leaving to meet my wife in Spain. The scheduler said she had no knowledge of the time limitations and the estimator had not passed on that info. It has been several weeks now, and I have not even received an apology for the mistake. This company has done acceptable work for me in the past, but apparently, their organizational skills have deteriorated. I will not be using them for future work. read more
