From the first contact via Yelp, Jorge Ontiveros, owner of Century Painting LLC, provided exceptional customer service, especially in his communication with his client with regards to the project. What was impressive was he seem to intuitively understand our needs as his client and was quick to resolve any concerns we may have had. We had contacted over seven companies for the project before entrusting our condo project with Jorge and the results were fantastic! During the project, Jorge would sent updates with photos and description of what had transpired during the work, without being asked. The painters are very skilled and thorough, covered every visible (and even hard-to-see) cracks, bumps and holes for a smooth finish. Very organized and clean-up was very well done, PROS: Jorge and his team seem to take great pride in their work, and the results reflect in the remarkable results. They are legitimately registered with State of New Jersey and fully insured. Jorge will even provide you their full insurance information when you request it. CONS: They may need to use your fridge to store their lunch. :D PRICE: Price is competitive and on-par with other rates. I was on the market for painters to help paint my entire apartment (2br 2ba including doors, trim…read moreand baseboards). After doing some research, I knew I wanted to use BJ Moore Regal Select paint which was consistently ranked as the best quality interior paint and we had our colors & finishes already selected. I reached out to 5 different painters to learn about their services, get estimates and I scheduled in-person walkthroughs for my top 2 choices. The walkthrough meeting and followup Q&A really sold me on Century Painting, we hired them and were not disappointed. Jorge (the owner) was responsive, very professional, timely and offered helpful advice about care / maintenance. I requested an initial estimate and covered the majority of questions thru Yelp, shared photos and a floor plan over text, and covered followup questions with Jorge over text and a brief walkthrough meeting I requested so I could get better acquainted with them and be completely transparent about the project scope for our specific space so there wouldn't be any surprises down the road (we have high ceilings and structural beams that might be tricky). Jorge was quick to meet and he provided a firm estimate in writing to me over email. Jorge provided a very competitive quote for the job and he required no advance deposit (most required 10-50% down). He also accepted credit card payment as an option, with full payment expected only when they completed the project (note: they were the only painter of the 5 that accepted credit cards). Jorge and Carlos showed up on time every morning, was able to provide a COI to meet my bldg's requirements, and they came ready to work with all the necessary paint and supplies. They took good care to move / cover our furniture and hardwood floors so they were protected and made sure to return everything clean and put back in place. Jorge encouraged us to identify any holes we may need patched or painting misses that needed correction - tbh, most of these things were proactively detected by them first. They really paid meticulous attention to ensure the quality of their work - and invited us to call them if we had any issues after the project (since we have furniture being delivered following the project). We fortunately had a little paint leftover so we're keeping it just in case we scuff any of the new paint in the process. They were done with the project in 2 days (others quoted me for 3-5 days with 2-4 painters). They were truly a pleasure to work with. We chose 2 dark colors and 1 light color - everything got at least 2 coats of paint but the dark colors required at least 4 coats. It came out beautifully (see pictures). I can't thank Jorge and Carlos enough. Highly recommend you check them out for yourself - I doubt you'll be disappointed.

I did the "adult" thing & got three quotes. The other two were late, wish washy, cheaper but would take a long time. Anyone who has had work done or painting knows that having a bunch of strangers in your home sucks & creates chaos. Best to pay more to get the job done. Ross from Precision painting showed up on time (usually early during the job), had an industry discount with high-end Farrow & Ball paint, & left me his business card like a professional. He also knew about priming over different colors & surfaces & what my specific project needed for gloss levels, etc. Ross' quote was reasonable & he would be faster than the other guys. I confirmed with the woman holding down the organized office & decided to sign with them. Of course I added in wallpaper on the ceiling & crown moulding after I asked & Ross was calm about it, "yeah, we can do that" is not what I am used to hearing. He didn't second guess my wants as a woman & had capable men on hand to really make my dream room come true versus settling. We readjusted the quote to add in the new work & ALL FINANCIAL & TIME PARAMETERS WERE 100% CLEAR. There were no games around money or time- no saying he'd show up & then nothing. His crew were the best. They came early & were good people. Minimal mess. I have had all of this work done multiple times in the past with horrible messes & dust. I feel traumatized by past work but Ross + Precision Painting job was unbelievable. The room before was OK but boring & simplistic plus kind of messy & a bad paint job. Most troublingly, they are careless and do not clean up after themselves. At the end of one workday, they left a sanding machine sitting directly on my brand-new kitchen countertop, chipping it. JOB: Paint livingroom & foyer, remove old baseboard & window moldings install new. Install 3 new doors. Run wires for TV, install wall mount & TV. Skim coat & paint bathroom. Tile over existing tile floor & reglaze tiles. Issues: Painting/molding- 1. Painting around light switch rather than removing as a professional would. (picture attached) 2. Incorrect paint finish used on bathroom walls which led to cracking & now has to be redone (picture attached) 3. Fail to sand bathroom door frame (picture) 4. Sloppy seams and excessive chalk used on new baseboard moldings (pictures) 5. Used cut baseboard molding for window molding rather than using what I showed him matching what was in my bedroom. TV- 1. Unaware of what wires to pull which lead me running to spectrum to find out. a. If a contractor accepts a job, it's reasonable to expect them to know how to fully complete not ask me in the middle of doing it. 2. Wanting to plaster around pulled HDMI cable after pulling it. What does one do if wire needs to be replaced break the wall? a. There are switch plates for this, I am a female who works in finance - how do I know this and not a professional contractor? 3. Multiple attempts to hang TV mount with no attempt to repair holes left. (picture) 4. Nail Damaged spectrum wire. After job was complete, had to have spectrum rerun a new wire. I removed old wire, repaired holes and painted. Damage to home- 1. Numerous scratches left on my wood floor (pictures) 2. Someone/ thing slammed into foyer light breaking inner light bulb, nearly got glass in my face when I removed it to clean. I find no joy in leaving a negative review however would not want someone else going thru what I did. **Updated in response to company** I had no intention on responding but my review was 100% honest, I can't say the same for the response. This is 100% a lie... "In regards to plastering around an hdmi cable, we simply asked if we should do so, so that there isn't a large plate on the wall or if they would like a plate installed. This has been done both ways and is simply a matter of preference. As shown in the picture, with holes behind the tv bracket, would love the opportunity to correct if allowed." You did not ask! I asked you and if I didnt you would have plastered around the wire. There was no option given you did not even have the plate to use. I had to run to Home Depot to get your crew the plate. Additionally you were given the opportunity to correct the holes as you were made aware prior to final day; you made the concious choice not to. This is a lie as well " The following day, the scratch was brought to our attention. Of course, this was very distressing and immediately offered to have the floors refinished." Per text On Friday 1/6 at 10:07am you advised " I can come back with golden oak and blend it in. It will still be slightly noticeable but not to someone not looking for it" I responded back on Friday 1/6 10:14am. I did not hear back until Monday at 10:57am but this time I had already went to home depot and made the best of situation left. To my knowledge golden oak and refinishing floors are not the same, moot point. I am sure you are capable of fanatastic work but that isn't what was provided to me. As you are aware there were other issues, missed paint spots that I had to touch up. The picture of molding is just one spot there were many. Wanting to tile around the toliet bowl.
