I cannot say enough about this team! We have had them out here twice for pretty large interior painting projects and have been so happy both times. Blake, Jesse and the painting team are top notch. We even had them redo some bookcases that another painter messed up. The prep work they did left our house immaculate when they were done. They are honest, professional and great at what they do. I don't understand any negative reviews for them except to say there is more than one Certapro location so make sure you contact this location. Although I have never felt the need to leave a negative review on a company, I feel very strongly that any potential clients have the right to know the experience we had with Certapro. We recently moved to Aledo and needed the inside of our home painted. We had only seen the house once due to COVID, so companies were giving us quotes based on a 3D tour and dimensions of the home until we got possession of the home for a walkthrough. It came down to Certapro and another local company who offered us less. However, we had told the head painter at Certapro that we would give them an opportunity to meet the price and stuck to our word. The contact we signed quoted us $5500 for the job. The head painter (Jeremy) decided to get almost half way through the job to tell us it was going to be more in materials then we expected due to the original color being darker than he expected (which he had obviously seen before telling his painters to begin the job). When we arrived to look at the progress one evening, all of the painters were gone but our air conditioner was set to 60 degrees ( in the middle of the summer) for what was obviously an extended amount of time. Jeremy then came to the house unannounced once we had moved in to our house to talk to us about the price. I told him he'd have to talk to my husband who had been dealing with the cost from the beginning. He instead continued to try to explain the excessive extra cost to me with ambiguous and meaningless numbers that were contradictory to all of the statements he had made. When I expressed that to him and said he needed to talk to my husband, he said my husband was "squabbling" with him and being dishonest. He then implied that we couldn't afford to pay for the job..I had to ask him to leave my home and contact my husband directly. When he did contact my husband, he said I was "disrespectful and belittled him" which was inaccurate and ludicrous, especially considering I had already asked him to talk to my husband instead which he decided not to do. Not only did they end up charging us $2,000 over our contracted amount, but they continuously called us dishonest and made many inaccurate statements along the way. They later offered to lower the price by $992 if we agreed to sign a non-disparagement stating that we could not write any reviews or speak of their company at any time INCLUDING dates that had already passed. If we did, they would charge us $10,000. Contrary to their incredibly rude and disrespectful assumption that we couldn't AFFORD to pay the bill, we paid them $6,992 ( $1,492 over contracted agreement) in full and refused to sign the non-disparagement agreement. We truly believe the owners of this branch are incredibly dishonest and would find any way possible to get the $10,000 from us if we signed the agreement. We are good people with good intentions and refuse to sign a legal document to prevent us from telling others about the incredibly upsetting and unsatisfactory experience we had with them while simultaneously allowing them to speak so poorly of us as clients when we agreed to pay them a reasonable amount for the extra cost for paint (also important to mention that the receipts they showed us did not, by any means, make up for that amount of money) Attached are photo examples that demonstrate the damage that was caused to cabinets, windows, carpets and walls due to their poor workmanship. There are approximately 43 more to go along with them. My goal is not to slander a company, but to prevent any other person from having to go through this experience. We are just happy that we are able to move on and hire the other company to fix Certipros' mistakes. It is important to note that if you read reviews, specifically on Yelp, that the owner ( and also father of the head painter previously referred to) continuously blames the client in extensive and lengthy "counter reviews" for what appears to be ongoing customer service and ethical issues on their behalf. read more

We had an absolutely great experience with Jeremy and his team. Honestly, we were pretty surprised to find negative reviews. On Google, this Certapro team has hundreds of reviews and nearly 5 stars. I, for one, will be recommending Jeremy and Certapro to everyone. They charged significantly less than than the competition, they worked with our flexible schedule as our home closing got moved back for weeks on end, they started really quickly after we closed despite having to rearrange their schedule, they finished faster than expected after they started, and after we went meticulously through the house requesting some minor touch ups here and there, they fixed absolutely everything we asked. Now, our house looks great, we saved thousands, and because they were so fast, we get to move in a week earlier than we originally expected after all of delays. They did a great job! read more

I had a poor experience with this company. When I got the bid and scheduled them Jeremy said we can absolutely do a great job for you. When I showed Jeremy the issues after his workers has completed, then Jeremy told me what they couldn't fix. When Jeremy says we can't fix it, it means his crew is not skilled enough to fix it and/or they don't know how to do it. They negotiated to fix one area, when a skilled friend showed them how to fix it. There were dry wall repair opportunities, please note they don't know how to repair drywall spots. Jeremy said he used this crew that were experts in dry wall repair, this is a sad statement for his company. If this is his best, best not use them. Overall, I am still removing paint from refrigerators, washer dryers, tv stand, hardwood floors, strike plates for doors, kitchen cabinets ( that were new ) hinges and door knobs. If it doesn't move they paint it. Area's should have been caulked and they weren't. I waited to do this review, so I had time to really look it over. They scraped acoustic off the ceiling and pieces of popcorn are now painted to my living room walls, due to poor clean up and preparation work after the ceiling scraping. They should have cleaned up better before painting the trim and walls. I had lacquered paneling to be painted and it was not sanded and painted, I have concern for it's longevity, plus there are scraps of popcorn stuck in the paneling paint. We negotiated in the end as to what they would fix and I will never recommend or use this company for any jobs. I hired this company because my daughter had a crew from this company in her home that did a better job for her. When I hired the company I thought this would be my experience and told Jeremy I was hiring this company because I wanted his crew to do the same in my home, not realizing he has more than one crew. I got a different crew and I should have been informed that I would have a totally different crew before I signed off on the contract. This is not a good business practice to bait and switch your customer. read more

Receive estimate from Jeremy(Sales Associate) on 4/5/19 with a agreement to paint the walls,outer front door and kitchen ceiling of our 4bdr/4bath home with the understanding as per contract that Certapro would cover and protect all furniture,cabinets,fixtures. Job would be completed in 3 days(took nearly a month and very poor job with poor cleanup effort). Agreed to $4000.00 after offer of a $824.54 military discount. Also discussed if paint were put on carpet or flooring. Certapro would replace or clean(did not clean to previous condition or replace carpet). Per contract, clean up would be completed in full daily in each room(did not happen). Drop cloths(did not use at all),tools and ladders(painters used my ladder because company did not provide one for 3 days) to be put away for safety daily. (none of that was done). Our house was cleaned by us and professionally cleaned(have receipts) prior to Certapro entering for painting walls. Our carpet was professionally cleaned(have receipts) prior to Certapro entering our home. Our wood flooring was immaculate prior to Certapro entering our home. Our lawn did not have paint thown about prior Certapro entering our home. Agreed paint start date would be in a week and half. Certapro crew started a week early without our knowledge. Wife showed up at our house on Friday to find 2 workers living i.e. spending the night,sleeping, cooking, eating,used all 4 showers and bathrooms for personal hygiene. Chicken bones on floor, dirty clothing in my office, made cornbread in our cleaned oven. Painters stated that Jeremy knew they were staying there without our knowledge. House was a disaster. Paint on carpet,wood floors,cabinets,fixtures,showers,tub,lawn,and our sink(some kind of corrosive),the only set of curtains(painted on) that were left in the home because of our move to put the house up for sale. Jeremy suggested that we leave the key to the house since no furniture was there and his painters would have easy access. I was hesitant to do that. But because he kept stating how professional his company is and insured for $2 million. I relented. We were promised a professional paint job (job is mediocre and incomplete) would be done. They kept giving us dates that they would be complete with the paint and cleanup after we complained and did a walk-thru with the owner (Gerald Bushong). All things we showed them during the walk-thru were not completed after 3 times of promising to fix it, still is not done. After sending a text to Jeremy explaining that we were still not satisfied. Gerald called and threatened to put a lien on our home if we don't pay in full immediately. So we made arrangements to pay them the full balance under threat of a lien being put on our home since we were eager to put it on the market. They knew that and used it. Worst customer service ever. Their attempt to make it right was to do everything as cheaply as possible. They're cleaning crew made up of Jeremy's kids did a subpar job of it. read more

Do not use-I had Jeremy and his assistant (daughter) walk through my entire house to get a bid for interior painting. At one point his computer started acting up and then the laser measuring tool. His daughter got a call from their office and chatted while I was standing there. Then they were in a rush to leave but said I would have an estimate tomorrow. I waited a couple of days then called Jeremy. He said" you wanted a quote for your living room", and I said "no, the whole house". He reminded me about the computer problem and said he would have something for me by the end of the day. Waited and nothing. I called the office the next day. She said she would contact Jeremy and let him know to call me. I also left a voice mail on Jeremy's phone. Waited and nothing. Very unprofessional! read more

This company has a myriad of issues starting with the quality of the work and going all the way up to the management. Despite what was represented to me, no prep work was done before paint went on the walls. I specifically told Jeremy I wanted to hire painters for the common areas of the house because I did not have time to do the proper prep work and wanted these areas to have a professional paint job before moving in. He assured me they would do it all (sand, fill holes, etc...) Instead, the painters came in and started slinging paint on the walls (and everything else). Certapro never finished the job and I never received a walk through (much less a final walk through) with anyone despite my repeated requests. Instead, I received excuse after excuse of why someone couldn't make it out for a walk through. There are still holes in the walls and trim that were never filled prior to painting. The cut lines on the walls and trim are crooked and bleed onto each other, old paint can still be seen through the single coat of paint on the wall, there is paint all over our window seals, floors, cabinets, and on our bathtub. We had no furniture in the house and the job was supposed to be completed before we moved in. it wasn't. After the first day, I began contacting Jeremy to let him know about the issues. He would rarely respond and would not come out to look over the job with me. When he did respond, he would schedule a time to meet and then no show without a word. Eventually, he referred me to the owner, Gerald. The owner told me the painters had returned multiple times to fix the issues. But multiple issues still remained. The owner even said he did a brief walk through (without me) and noticed some of the issues I mentioned to Jeremy. At this point, we were a day away from moving in. I requested he send another crew out (I'd lost confidence in the current crew at this point) but was told that that wasn't possible and I would be charged more. I was also informed that I would be charged more if the painters had to move furniture out of the way to fix the remaining issues. According to the owner, he was already upside down in the job because the painters had to return numerous times. More excuses--not my problem. In a good faith effort to resolve this mess, I offered to pay for a majority of the contract price. I didn't expect him to be out the entire cost of the contract, and I didn't expect to pay the entire price for a job that hadn't been completed. In response, the owner agreed to let me pay less than the full amount of the contract provided I sign a full release agreement which contained a non-disparagement clause (i.e., I couldn't leave this review or say anything to anyone about the quality of CertaPro's work) and an unconscionable liquidated damages provision in the thousands of dollars (a penalty they would attempt to enforce had I signed the agreement and given a bad review). I paid the full contract price for a job that was never completed just so I could leave this review and warn others. CertaPro will rush in, sling paint on the walls (and everything else) and rush out. Save your money and DIY or, if you want a professional paint job, look else where. read more

Used CertaPro before for outside painting with mixed results. Painters were not careful with overspray, drips or cleanup. A team was sent to clean up but not everything was or could be fixed. Decided to give them another opportunity with interior painting of two rooms. One room repaired and painted in excellent manner; however, our bathroom has quite a few issues. Also, they did not use the agreed upon paint. This was after Jeremy convinced us to use the upgraded Emerald paint in the high cleaning and moisture areas. We believe this was a big oversight on the part of Jeremy as the painters were never instructed to use Emerald paint. Without belaboring all the details, the biggest improvement you could make is to improve Jeremy's social interaction and job management skills. He is very unprofessional in his coordination efforts for both job start to end and tends to be abrasive when discussing issues. By the way, there was no walk around at completion. My intent was to point out that the issues in the bathroom were to lack of attention to details and poor quality in the performance of the bathroom painter, i.e., poor trim work, scattered paint on fixtures, doors, etc. Jeremy did offer to come back and try to fix some of the issues in the bathroom and even stated this is normal. However, after this session, we wanted to be done with Jeremy and CertaPro. Any company that performs work with the expectation they will have to make multiple trips to correct issues that should be done right the first time is losing money on inefficiency. They may be a successful business, but that is only because they are using illegals and keeping their overhead low. This was actually confided to me by Jeremy when he was trying to fix the issues with our first outside painting job. Let me conclude by stating that I do not expect or even want a follow up to this survey. We are done with CertaPro. read more
