But as far as video game shops go, the Game Stop on Henry Street is la creme de la creme. Like the other Game Stops in the city, it offers some amazing sales. It has stacks and stacks of games for all consoles. It will give you money for your old video games or you can exchange them for a new or pre-owned game and pay the difference. Game Stop has the same scheme for DVDs which are located upstairs. You can exchanges your old movies for new ones and pay only two Euro. This deal beats any DVD rental place.

This store is really well laid out and they keep every segment well organised. The shop is also quite spacious and comfortable. The staff seem to be helpful, especially with parents not knowing what to buy, also they play some excellent music in the store. As always the major caveat is you can probably get better prices if your selling games etc elsewhere.

In addition, a great team employed by this particular branch. Always friendly, and service with a smile which is really a valuable commodity these days. If they don't have what you're looking for, they'll find out who does. I now cannot think of a worse place to work. Screaming toddlers runing around in danger of scraping knees and bumping foreheads while mothers argue with their mothers about who's buying their little precious a Ben 10 wristwatch. That being said, Smyths is still one of the best toy shops in the country. They have an enormous amount of stock and their customer service is great. Not only that, they also have a 'software zone' which is pretty good for computer games and consoles. I do sometimes go into the Smyths back home for a bit of a nostalgic time wasting. Just not at Christmas. NEVER at Christmas.

I give this review a 3 star because I do enjoy going there but no more because of the condition the consoles/controllers are sold in. I and other people are paying money for a product and when you receive it you expect it to be in clean condition. I'm not saying it has to be immaculately clean but the consoles I received has dust, hair, grime and stains all over the controller and console.

GameStop is in harsh terms a poor man's GAME. It does video game trade in and the usual console…read moremalarkey but hasn't got much of an edge in the ever running war between the two video game giants. It generally is a bit more pricey than GAME and doesn;t have great offers. The stock is categorised pretty shoddily and I rarely find what I'm looking for if it's a harder title to find. All that being said, I did buy my beloved Xbox 360 here a few years back and got a great deal, considering how much the Xbox was selling for at the time. It seems you can get a good bargain here if you strike while the iron is hot. Just keep your eyes peeled for the right offer.

Although the shop itself is a bit smaller than many of the others you will find, this one gets a good supply of people turning in second hand games making it a great place to have a route if you are passing by. I am forever finding games I have never heard of or special editions I didn't know existed. The staff are nice enough, but as others have said, their prices are a bit more than GAME, but then again you can sometimes find a sale here you won't find at GAME, it's just a matter of checking sure!
