I took my girlfriend here because she wanted to experience a "nature walk" in Lubbock. Rather than…read morerisking a rattle snake bite in the real nature, I took her here as a safer alternative. The Good: It's nice and quiet. They do have local indigenous plant life. There's a lovely little trail that goes around the entire facility. They have the biggest rosemary bush I've ever seen in my life. The Bad: It's quiet mostly because nobody ever goes here. Most people don't even know it exists. No, no -- there was not a large pumpkin walking around but rather hundreds of local people/organizations carved pumpkins. The creations were put on display and lit so everybody could enjoy seeing the little orange works of art. I wish I had counted, but there must have been two thousand pumpkins. Some organizations had a hundred or more carved and decorated for there display. I don't have a green thumb, so I enjoyed seeing the hard work of others. I appreciated the work put into the grounds and loved the seclusion and chance to not feel like I live in a desert.
