The newspaper's website contains sections for news, sports, obituaries, editorials, classified advertisements, social events, legal notices, puzzles and games, etcetera. I first encountered The Herald months ago when I was researching my ancestry. I used obituaries to determine familial relationships and to build my family tree. The Herald's website contained obituaries for several of my distant family members. To access the obituaries, I had to pay a fee. The following options were available: home delivery starting at $27.99, a monthly digital subscription for $19.99, one article for $0.99, or a day pass for $1.99. On two separate days months apart, I bought day passes. I experienced no problems with the functioning of the website.

After several calls & situation not improved, I had them change delivery location to my home. For some reason, I don't get the paper delivered until Friday. And I requested delivery to my front door, yet in the 2 wks I've been getting the paper, it has been tossed into the middle of my driveway. I tried calling the office today - several times and all I get is a voice saying "who's calling" and then total silence. Nothing happens, so I'm not even able to reach them.

I finally decided it was time (after many years) to cancel the paper. I called in January, February and March in an attempt to cancel. I called over a dozen times, only to have the paper continue to be delivered over my cancellation. Now they are telling me I owe for all the deliveries I did not want. The News Herald has become a bad bad company. I suggest anyone thinking about starting a subscription to think again. They do not know the meaning of customer service.

The recording you get when you call to report it is pure BS. Unfortunately, I can't cancel it because my husband wants it. If it were up to me, they would have lost us as a customer years ago!!!!! When we don't get it, my husband goes out and buys one so we pay double for practically nothing.
