We took a tour of the processing areas as well went down to the Cav (cave) and viewed storage Barrels. The smaller natural Cav was really cool and something the bigger House didn't have. We had 3 tastings and a Brandy like drink. I liked their Grand Cru the most. Surprisingly the Detour par l'alambic (Detour through the Still) was the biggest hit. Most of us bought a bottle. Unfortunately their Champagne is not available in the US. Given their size and overall freight costs are too high, they are not able to ship to the US. Our Tour Guide was engaged/upbeat and gave us some good information. The sustainability actions they are taking and that it takes from 15 months to 3 years to age their Champagne. She's always open when you want to visit and to taste, just give a call to be sure. She took over the business after her grandfather and father and this one oldskool champagne maker; she uses the original wooden (!) press to press the grapes after harvest and there are only 3 in the region that still use this classic method! Her champagne production is quite low compared to the bigger houses in the region; she produces a few thousand bottles each year. She even labels all bottles by hand! But the taste..... My absolute favourite was her signature champagne "Cuvée Ecolibri" (€16 per bottle). Recommend big, big time to visit, to drink, and to take home with you ;-). Another big plus (besides her lovely & warm personality for a Française) is that's she speaks English. Winning on so many levels, this champagne house!!

I'm getting fairly decent at following along (or so I'm deluding myself), but my partner can translate fairly decently. While we were here, we had one of their Brut champagnes, but they also do Rose champagne made with being in contact with the red wine skins as opposed to adding red wine to the champagne. It was delicious. We bought four bottles of wine. We also got a tour of the facility and the wine making process. We were really happy with the wine here and I highly recommend stopping in to get some of your own.

It's what they're known for and even won awards! It's super small, super local, and family-owned. Their production is quite little of you compare it to the 'big' houses, but they manage to produce a few thousand bottles annually. And ah well, if you're here - why not taste a few, non?! Most interesting: the Cuvée "1911" made solely with the pinot meunier grapes. And the rose champagne of course!!

This was one of our favorite champagne tastings. The hidden castle is a magnificent gem. We enjoyed exploring the grounds at our own pace followed by a wonderful tasting.
