Multispecialty Health Group at Spotsylvania Regional isn't any better...called for an appointment , they said to have only one doctor working , the others are either taking update classes or are on vacation ....This is crazy. This is quite literally the worst experience I've ever had with a doctor's office. I've been a patient of theirs for a while and it's a total nightmare. They are nearly impossible to get in touch with. I had an insurance that required PCP referrals and forget it. I would call, call again, call again, and I wouldn't receive a call back until weeks later when my upcoming appointment had passed. I would finally get in touch with someone and be told that I'll receive a call back on Monday or what have you, and nothing. Seeing specialists in this town is very difficult as there are so few and they are usually booked 6 months out so these referrals are extremely important so that we don't lose our spots. I have, on more than one occasion, had to walk into the doctor's office and ask the front desk for my referral. Why on earth would anyone have to walk into their doctor's office to get a referral when there is an entire department dedicated to this?! And they have an online portal, etc!!! It's mind-boggling. It is incredibly frustrating. Currently, I am experiencing the worst back pain I've ever had in my life. I messaged them at the beginning of the week on the online portal to get an appointment. Someone called me around 4pm but their phones weren't working correctly so the call dropped. No one called me back. I tried calling and kept getting an error message. It's been three days of me calling and leaving messages and I have yet to hear back from someone. How has no one at the front desk answered a single one of my phone calls in three days? I'm at my wit's end here and will be moving practices since they don't seem to care about keeping patients. read more

1of1: I regrettably write to provide information and rationale for leaving the Mary Washington Healthcare (MWHC) practice at 12006 Kilarney Drive, Fredericksburg, VA 22407. I recently was involved in a vehicular collision accident, on or about 191956NOV2022, causing me to be evaluated at the hospital. As a result of my evaluation and review, I received a referral from the Emergency Room (ER) doctor at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center on or about 200107NOV2022 for my upper right humerus bone had a rather large growth and lesion that showed on an x-ray and subsequent radiological report. The doctor indicated and insisted that I needed an orthopedic oncology consult and provided one in the report. On or about 210830NOV2022, I called my Mary Washington Healthcare (MWHC) "primary care" provider at 12006 Kilarney Drive and spoke to Caitlin, the "referral coordinator". I informed her of the situation regarding the referral from the ER doctor and impending priority and attention it needed. Caitlin assured me the referral would be made and placed into the system. She stated, "It would be about 2-3 days before it posts in TRICARE referrals". I assumed and trusted the referral would have been placed into the TRICARE referral system as promised. Unfortunately, much to my chagrin, later I discovered that Caitlin gave up and lost her integrity. She provided a lie to a patient instead of performing her duties, responsibilities, and obligations as a healthcare professional. On or about 290830NOV2022, I browsed my TRICARE referral website only to discover the orthopedic oncology referral I was assured would be placed into the TRICARE system was NOT IN THE SYSTEM! On or about 290851NOV2022, I contacted my MWHC "primary care" provider and, as usual, had to leave a voicemail (VM). I put "primary care" in quotation marks because patients are DEFINITIVELY NOT "PRIMARY" and THE ONLY "CARE" for the MWHC PRACTICE IS ABOUT PAYMENTS COLLECTED! Likewise, I put "referral coordinator" in quotation marks because "REFERRALS" ARE UNCOMMON and "COORDINATION" RARELY OCCURS! On or about 291007NOV2022, I called my MWHC "primary care" and spoke to Kia regarding the referral from the ER Doctor from the 19 Nov 2022 vehicle accident X-ray. Kia transferred me to Caitlin. I asked Caitlin why she DID NOT PUT THE REFERRAL INTO THE TRICARE SYSTEM on 20 Nov 2022. She stated, " It has been a while since you were seen here". "We need to see you before I put the referral into the system". I asked why she DID NOT SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT instead of assuring me the referral would be in the system. Once again, I informed Caitlin that I had a referral from the ER Doc and my Orthopedic Surgeon to the orthopedic oncology specialist regarding the X-ray of the upper right humerus. Caitlin stated, "Since you have the referral from the ER doctor, I can put the referral into the system and we don't need to see you". Caitlin stated, "I'll put the referral in today". I asked, "Are you sure"? She stated, "I'll put it into the system as soon as we hang up". I thanked her and concluded the call at 1011 hours. On or about 010800DEC2022, I called and scheduled an appointment with an orthopedic oncology specialist. I received an appointment for 131500DEC2022, but the scheduler did not see the referral in the TRICARE system from my "primary care". I stated I would call my "primary care" and check on the status of the referral. On or about 010810DEC2022, I called my MWHC "primary care" on 12006 Kilarney Drive, and, of course, had to leave a message. Once again, Caitlin PROVIDED A LIE INSTEAD OF A REFERRAL! Caitlin again FAILED to perform her DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, and OBLIGATIONS as a healthcare associate. On or about 011016DEC2022, Claudia returned my 0810 hours call. Claudia informed me that my referral WAS NEVER PLACED into the TRICARE system. Claudia also stated that Caitlin purportedly left a VM on my cell phone. Yet again, another Caitlin LIE! I informed Claudia, "That NEVER happened". Claudia stated, "You need to come in because you have not been in since June 2021". I stated, "I have a referral from the ER Doc, may I speak to Caitlin". Claudia transferred me, but Caitlin NEVER took the call. Left a VM for a returned call. Call ended at 1023 hours. On or about 011110DEC2022, I called MWHC "primary care" and spoke to Caitlin. Once again, I asked, "Why isn't the referral in the TRICARE system?" She stated, "It was policy". I asked, "Why didn't you simply schedule an appointment, this is a priority for an oncology consult. Don't you believe this is priority?" She then informed of a telephonic appointment potential. I again restated that I had a referral from ER Doc as well as my Orthopedic Surgeon. My Orthopedic Surgeon had referred me to a particular Orthopedic Oncology Specialist! Caitlin stated, "I'll get the referral in today and if I need to schedule a telephonic appointment, I will contact you by 4:00 PM". read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Nguyen for years. She is the most caring, compassionate doctor that I have ever met. No matter how busy the office is, she will never rush me and take the time to listen to my concerns. She is the best!! read more

Today I was refused care by Dr. Nguyen because I scheduled my annual physical with a NP instead of her PA. She said if I would not see her PA, I would not see any provider in the practice, despite having waited 45 minutes for my scheduled appointment with the NP and paying the copay for my private insurance. As a practicing RN for 20 years, I found this disgraceful. Patients have the right to choose their medical providers. I choose to move my family to another practice. read more

When I first started going everything went well. I have been seeing Mara Cate for a couple of years now since my Doctor retired. Anyhow, the practice was apparently bought by MWH. They said they notified patients however I never received anything advising me of this change so naturally I was surprised. At my last appointment I was told they were changing some things around and I could not make my follow up appointment that day. They told me someone would call me to schedule a follow up when everything was set up. Fast forward to 3-4 months later ....still haven't heard from them to make an appointment but I did get a message saying the Doctor wanted to put me on a medication that I already take ....??? So the nurse was surprised and said she will check with the Doctor and call me back...that was 2 months ago. I decided to call the other day to make a f/u appointment until I am able to find a new Doctor and was put on eternal hold only to get disconnected. So I attempted to call today and make an appointment. I was told she only sees patients until 3:30 because they changed the schedule. I guess they do not realize people work. Very disappointed. They let me know they were being bought out by Mary Washington and to call back on April 1 to make an appointment. I've been calling since then (now 19 days later) with no response. I've left voicemails that haven't been returned. I certainly understand being busy with a transition but not 19 days worth. I have been in their office on three different occasions, and had to walk out after waiting each time for almost an hour; today being the third time. Every person that came in after me was seen before me. Imagine having to leave your doctor's office, and go to an urgent care center because you can't see your GP. I like my Dr., but they always overbook their appointments, and the patients are the ones who suffer. I am so done with Chancellor Internal Medicine. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Nguyen since I moved to Spotsylvania in 2002 and I have only positive things to say about her, her staff, and Chancellor Internal Medicine. I have had excellent care, normally get an appointment whenever needed and have referred a number of patients to Dr. Nguyen who have also had very positive experiences. read more

I called this morning to make an appointment with the nurse practitioner that I normally see for a persistent cough. Because my visit is due to a symptom that could possibly be COVID, my appointment would have to be a telemedicine appointment as I am not allowed in the office. I questioned this because wouldn't the most important part of being seen for a cough be to listen to my lungs?? The receptionist said that if I felt that I needed someone to listen to my lungs then I would need to go in person to an urgent care or the ER. Excuse me... what? First, my symptom could be related to COVID... it could also be so many other things. What has the world come to where your normal doctor turns you away for a medical problem because it could POSSIBLY be something contagious? And why is the staff at Chancellor internal medicine more important than the staff at an urgent care or ER? I would understand being asked to wait in your car until a room is ready but to refuse to see current patients all together for a cough? I love Mara Cate and have been extremely happy with her care but this is unacceptable. read more

It is too bad that the scheduling is broken here. I really like meeting Dr Ross the one time and is a really good doctor. The issue is that today is third time I had to cancel due to waiting over an hour for appointment. Of course the bills are on time and you will be charged if you are late. Last appointment I waited 2.5 hours only to cancel and today was over an hour. I was told I needed to come in urgently to review blood work. Talking with the others waiting they said you always have to wait over an hour to see her. Why can't they just schedule people correctly. Would be one star but I really like the doctor. read more

Dr. Clemo was competent and I liked her personally, but the staff left a lot to be desired. I had an appointment with Dr. Roopareliya. I am 61 years old and in good health. Dr Roopareliya was very condescending and spoke down to me during the 20 minute visit. I have never in my life had a visit with a doctor to could have been more horrible. I realize he is new with the practice and the practice is trying to build his client base. However I will absolutely not recommend him to another person. Most terrible experience I've had in my life with a doctor. read more
