I first asked the staff member ( I am a tourist) friend if I could photograph my friend and I in hats in the store. He enthusiastically said yes, absolutely! This store has amazing hats at very reasonable prices. I am old-school and I like to touch, feel and try on my stuff before I buy it. This store is old school like me

I came to NOLA from Albuquerque. Barbara was immensely helpful picking out my hat. She is very charming and fun to chat with. She's a major babe in my book. She was a LOT of fun, I could have spent the day hanging out in her store. She even helped me pick out a feather. I can't wait for the hotties to check out my new chapeaux.

Another shop located in one of the more touristy sections of the French Quarter in the small retails shops overlooking the Jackson Square Pedestrian Mall... But this is a legit store that has some great product And yes, the store is all hats but not like the baseball caps and beanies you'd find at your typical mall hat store... no, these are beyond those hats. They have novelty hats like Steampunk and themes like high hats and hats that are great for unique events (that only NOLA can host). Stylish fedoras, newspaper hats, large brim hats... and they are name brands too. I ended up being impressed by a particular flat hat from Brixton Hats; prices are up there but nothing too excessive from what we could find from visiting some online stores. All in all, it's a cool shop that the staff will encourage you to try hats on and there is no pressure to buy anything... they'll help you get the correct size without that extra push to buy something that can't be sized properly or doesn't make you look good.

Ms. Barbara was so lovely !

My boyfriend and I stopped in here during our recent trip to NOLA. We were enjoying a nice afternoon near Jackson square and stumbled across this store. I'm extremely sensitive to the sun so he suggested we go in and see what types of hats they have. For the record, I wasn't hopeful that I would find anything simply bc I have a big head lol and I have lots of hair (locs) so it's always hard to find good looking hats that fit. Boy was I wrong! Ms. Barbara and Ms. Tracy were soooooo helpful, welcoming, and just such a joy that we left there with 3 hats for myself and one for my boyfriend (and he's not a hat wearer). We even went back the next day and purchased 3 more for his mom. I'm absolutely in love with my hats and the customer service, I had to make it my business to leave such a great review and post these pics. Thank you ladies for the incredible customer service !

Amazing hats here. Different period styles, low costume fun to very high end sofisticarse styles. Something for everyone. They have a huge selection of removable facinators on headbands as well. You can try on everything, they don't mind and are very helpful folks. The whole family found something they loved to ware to the races

My husband and I visited Chapel Hats over the 4th of July weekend. I had the time of my life trying on all of the different hats (cowboy, fedora, herringbone, bowler, fascinator, etc). YOU NAME IT, THEY HAVE IT!!! Ms. Barbara helped us, she was very knowledgeable and has over 25 years in the hat business. I will definitely be ordering from them online!!!

When I worked at a Pandora store in Chicago several years ago, I was made aware that every city has their exclusive charms, and I knew I needed a New Orleans one. The sales associate with red hair (she never gave me her name) who helped us was really sweet, it didn't take long for her to notice that I needed some help, and she even left the charms out for me to look/touch while she went to grab her glasses. I can appreciate her for trusting that I wouldn't walk right out the store with the product, and the one charm that caught my eye was the Cathedral with a blue backdrop. She was sweet to explain to us that the cathedral is right around the corner just walking distance from the shop, and we actually saw it right by Jackson Square on our way to Bungalows. I love how this is a boutique but they also carry so many different brands of jewelry (Alex & Ani, Brighton, etc), and they had a designated Pandora section that's visible right when you enter. I'd recommend Bungalows to anyone in the area looking for some Pandora charms or a boutique.

Ultimately, Swap has singlehandedly eliminated my need to ever go to Lakeside Mall or Canal place, and has given me the wonderful ability of clicking delete when I get a sale notice from Banana or J. Crew because I know I can get the item at Swap in the same condition for less money. First, the owner, Michelle, is fabulous. It is like she has read every how to make your employees and people around you respect and love you book on the market. Or maybe it's innate for her. I don't know. Michelle is a genuinely kind person, who signs every single one of her business' emails with every single store associates name. In a world of faceless corporations, that means a considerable amount. Swap discounts items on a schedule. I know they do at 30 and 60 days, so you can take a gamble and watch an item if you are in love. Swap has only been open for a little over two years, and nearly half of my wardrobe went to be consigned there and the other half has been rejuvenated by it. My finds include Theory shirt dresses for 15 dollars, silk Club Monaco skirts for under 30, Coach wallets and wristlets, Tory Burch clutches for under 100, a Guess red peacoat that was Blair Waldorf worthy for under 70, banana republic silk tops, etc. How did this happen you say? Michelle opened her store in a section of town that has wealthier liberal arts schools literally 2,500 feet away (tulane and loyola) and is wedged in a wealthier part of new orleans. So, an influx of a revolving market with a disposable income. Brilliant! She works her butt off to get the word out about her store to New Orleans' ladies who lunch who then bring their garmets here. (Thankfully) There is no hipster ridiculous pretentiousness here (Im lookin' at you Buffalo Exchange) and they are always kind when you consign your items. I have never been treated anything but wonderfully by Michelle and her crew. If you are in the area, make a point to stop here. Honestly, I would work here for free if it were legal, but well, we both know there are labor laws. note: sign up for store emails because Swap loves coupons as much as you budget fashionistas do, and they also have an ebay edition of their store.

Then I found out from the shop attendant that the state flower of Louisiana is the Magnolia! What??? My boyfriend's mom was born & raised in NOLA and loved our dog. She has been gone for a year and half, so finding this out strangely makes me feel connected to her and that she is still around. :*) Anyway, the sweet shop guy asked me to tell him the story of how my dog and I found each other. I recounted the tale of how I found her at PAWS Chicago, where she came from originally (Oklahoma), that she had a brother named "Steel", how she saved me from a life of stress, and then our connection to NOLA. I always appreciate when someone can create a warm and fuzzy moment. So thank you, Shop Guy! The collar is high quality all around - material and construction. I have purchased MANY custom collars for my baby girl and this has been the best so far. It's worth the money because I know it will last for a long time. I will be checking out their website for Christmas gift ideas since we won't be back until next year!
