    Beautiful Days With Brandi

    Beautiful Days With Brandi

Hello! I would like to be transparent and say that I did not end up using Brandi all the way to…read morecompletion, but I will say that from our first call we connected and I can tell that she is a really good hearted person that means what she says. I am in California, so not super close to her (haha) but she assured me that it wouldn't be an issue. I needed some help for my husband's 50th birthday party. I have 3 year old twins so I wasn't sure how much I was going to be able to do on my own. She immediately sent me ideas for a theme on his birthday and discussed finding venues. I also started going to work looking at venues because I was nervous she wouldn't really know the area out here. I ended up finding a few and she called on them immediately. She booked me a tour of two of the venues I wanted. I ended up picking one quickly and she immediately put down the deposit for it. At the same time as she and her team were working on my event, i was working on it too coincidentally. I guess I had more time than I thought I did! I ended up really enjoying the process of researching vendors, reaching out to them and then when it came to booking them, I would kick them back over to Brandi. That's when things got a little slow and I jumped on them. She did let me know that she's not slow, I'm just really fast lol... I guess what I was really in the search for was a day of coordinator because I LOVE doing the planning (I hadn't realized that before though). I asked to cancel the contract for the reason that I was really just doing it all myself. No testament against her! She did have files and files of things she was working on for me. I just am a rush rush get things done now kind of person. She has a good heart and will make events beautiful I'm sure! Very willing to work with the client as you can see from below!

Let me be the first to say that I am a disgruntled bride; however, my review is an accurate…read moreretelling of the events of my wedding on 10/10/2020. I honestly hired the cheapest planner because I didn't think that I needed much help for a very small wedding. The first problem was the invitations, which were completely off-centered. I told her that she needed to call for a refund immediately, and she said that she would call right away, which never happened. I followed up with her, and she never responded. She insisted that she checked the first and last invitations and that they looked perfect, which seems strange since she must have seen all of them since she mailed them for me. I later learned that EVERYONE received a wonky invitation. Two invitations were sent to me because they didn't have stamps. Friday before my wedding, she picked up the cake from the baker, telling me that it looked "beautiful". A couple hours later, she sent me a picture - Oh. My. God. I thought that the picture was a joke. She then said "I didn't think that it was what you wanted" even though she confidently told me earlier that the cake was "beautiful" and then said "Oh I had only looked at the bottom tier". The cake was the ugliest, sorriest looking thing I have ever seen. Our cake was an important centerpiece as we wanted to display photos of our parents and grandparents at their wedding cakes. I told her to get my money back, and the baker didn't even hesitate to issue a refund. Brandi called in a favor at a local bakery, and the problem appeared to be resolved, but the second cake fell over in her car. Brandi said that she had been in a car accident, although the staff at the reception site said that they didn't see any damage to her car when she pulled up with the new cake. At the cake display, she didn't include any of the photos from my husband's family; only my family's photos were displayed, which really hurt his parents' feelings. I called her immediately, and she argued and insisted that those were the only pictures that I had given her. I told her to check again, and 10 minutes later, she was trying to sneak his family's pictures into the display. The most shocking moment occurred when we were about to cut our cake. I asked where the photographer was, and Brandi told me that she had left but that she (Brandi) would get some beautiful pictures on her PHONE. Standing at the cake, with everyone looking at us, I told her that I was really upset about the photographer, and Brandi responded-with everyone looking at us because we are IN THE MIDDLE OF OUR CAKE CUTTING-"are you unhappy with MY services?!" I responded, "Yes!" Then, she started mouthing off until my husband stepped in and said, "we'll talk about this like PROFESSIONALS later." Later, Brandi would accuse me of "verbally assaulting" her in that moment - what?? Then, someone informed me that the second cake had never made it, so I told her that I need my money back for the 2nd botched cake, and she said "you have 2 cakes, you're FINE". Then, things escalated and she was fighting with me in the middle of my reception, accusing me of picking a fight with her! I told her to get out and escorted her to the door while she exclaimed to my entire family that I was "just drunk" (I had barely finished one drink because I was busy talking to my guests, so she was clearly just trying to embarrass me). My guests later told me that Brandi was still decorating the church at 5:45 for my 5:30 ceremony (yes, we were late). I texted her several days later to very inquire about my wedding photos, and I received an obnoxious influx at hate-filled texts disparaging me and several photos of her in the hospital because of damage that she claims that she sustained during my wedding, acting as if I had caused her alleged accident. She also accused me of forcing her to do things that wedding planners "don't do", as if I am some expert on wedding planner duties. If I had asked her to do something outside of her job description, all she had to do is simply decline politely. She was supposed to help me with a brunch the day after the wedding, and she carried on about how she was "doing the brunch for free"-again, all she had to do was say, "yes, I will do the brunch for a fee", and I would have paid! She said that she should have made me pay a $2k decorator bill rather than have her decorate because that's not part of her job, even though throughout our year of interaction, she never once indicated that this was an additional service and happily picked out décor with me. I finally texted her "Please just stop texting me". I contacted her once more about a $1600 charge, and it took 3 messages for her to respond, only because I finally threatened legal pursuit. She called me pushy and told me to stop harassing her, and I told her that if she potentially had $1600 missing, she'd probably want answers too. She accused me of thinking that I am the center of the universe and other nasty remarks.

So, I'm not planning a wedding, or a wedding planning business, so I might not know the specifics…read moreof what a bride is looking for. But I have definitely been around my fair share of event spaces. And Hawthorne House seems like a good one. There is a nice little chapel. It's crisp and clean and bright. Also, I appreciate that it's a "chapel" but it's not remotely religious. It's basic, to be sure, but I think there's a lot to be said for simplicity. My only complaint was that the acoustics here are ROUGH. Plan on adding some sound absorbing features if you want people to actually be able to hear what's going on. OR, ban loud, noisy children from attending. Seriously, I couldn't hear a single word of the ceremony because of a few irritating babies. You cross a nice little bridge through some trees, and then you're at the reception venue. I was quite impressed. The aesthetics match the chapel in that it's simple and clean. There are quite a few windows and the lighting is fancy without being overly ornate. The bar is completely adequate, and has room for 8 taps of beer, if that's your thing. Around the front of the house is a wraparound porch that just felt great to be on, as if you were at the house of some wealthy relative. And the front lawn is expansive with a pretty nice little gazebo. Not sure what you'd do there, but I'm sure it would fulfill your gazebo needs. My only complaint about the reception hall itself was the limited number of bathrooms. I can see with a larger event how there'd be a line for the facilities. The staff was all friendly and helpful, an stayed out of your way. The food was provided by the venue, and it was alright. It wasn't all totally to my liking, but that could be the menu the couple selected, or the cooks could have had an off night. But they kept the buffets filled and hot and did a good job otherwise. I can't say that I was OMG blown away by Hawthorne House, but I was certainly impressed. Any bride-to-be that chose this venue would be making a wise decision.

Outdoor weddings at the gazebo are lovely and so are the indoor weddings in the chapel. The bridal suite is spacious and has and area dedicated to hair and make-up. If I were a bride, I would just soak it all up - take breakfast and eat on the balcony outside of the bridal suite, in the morning and enjoy every moment of my time there. I haven't even talked about the food yet... Lets just say, AMAZING! I've had Chicken Marsala, Parmesan Crusted Tilapia, Sirloin Tips (my personal fave) and that's just the entrees - the mashed potatoes. The roasted red potatoes, the steamed broccoli, the glazed carrots... There is nothing that I've eaten there that has been less than fantastic. They had an appetizer item at the last wedding I shot there that was so good I looked it up to pass it along because I wasn't sure of the name - it was the Rosemary and Parmesan Shortbread Crackers with Roasted Cherry Tomatoes and Feta Cheese the crackers were heart shaped and looked awesome on the tray. The ambient light from the chandeliers at night is stunning in the reception area and the natural window light flooding the room during the day is a photographer's dream! If you are looking for a classy, elegant, charming chapel or a floral picturesque outdoor wedding this is definitely worth your time checking it out. Irene and her staff will take very good care of you :)

Warning: LONG review. I truly cannot say enough good things!…read more Michael did a wonderful job coordinating, planning and DJing my April 2014 wedding reception. Yes, he played music, but even more, he performed the role as our reception coordinator. Like many brides, I originally thought that I needed to hire someone who could just play music. After seeing many positive reviews of Michael's services online, my fiance' Justin and I met with him in person. During our meeting, we realized that Michael was the real deal and that we needed to work with him. Michael explained how he would do much more than just play music -- he would help with planning the reception events with us, he would routinely meet with us throughout the whole planning process, he'd make sure the flow of the entire event made sense, etc. And he did exactly that! We Skyped with Michael on one occasion and also met in person on a few occasions. We also met at our reception site with Michael so he could plan out the event details, the location of the grand entrance, etc. Throughout our planning, Michael also was very prompt to respond via email whenever I reached out with questions, ideas and concerns. Michael told us time and time again that our job as the couple was to just enjoy our reception; his job was to make sure that it ran smoothly. And Michael kept that promise. Justin and I danced, mingled, enjoyed our food, and had a wonderful time at our reception. We never had any question about what's next, where do we go, aren't we supposed to cut the cake at some point? When we needed to perform a specific task at our reception, Michael found us and briefly gave us a reminder. On the music side of things, our dance floor was crowded the entire night. Of course as the bride and groom, we were busy talking with so many people, so we were not on the dance floor too much. Following up with one of the bridesmaids next day, she said, "I was on the dance floor the whole night!" Michael's planning and organization services combined with his DJ expertise was worth every penny. I would absolutely recommend him to any bride and groom looking for a DJ -- and then some. We will forever be grateful for the contribution he made and the hard work he put in on our very special day.

As the date became closer, we started to feel a bit overwhelmed with all the details. I received Decemeber's information from a friend, and from our first interaction, she was a true professional! Because we were less than two months from our wedding, Decemeber moved to schedule our face-to-face meeting quickly. The introduction discussion was well organized and she walked me through all of our vendor details, wedding party, must-haves, etc. My fiancé and I thought we had covered all our bases, but it was obvious after our discussion that there were many other details we needed to address. Decemeber made this feel like a breeze, and immediately helped wrap up finishing touches and assembled a "day-of" timeline. She began coordinating directly with our vendors, to eliminate the stress from the groom and me. Because of all the work Soirée did up front, the day of our wedding was well executed, relaxed and most importantly fun! As the bride, I didn't have to worry about who needed to be where and when. Decemeber had all of this outlined for us. She even found a new hairstylist two weeks before the wedding, after I decided to make a last minute change! From the first phone call with Decemeber to giving her a hug at the end of our wedding reception, she made wedding planning a stress-free process and our day was executed to perfection! (And if there was a hiccup, she handled it and we never knew) On top of her professionalism, Decemeber is a joy to work with to plan a major event.
