At the front of the shop is an espresso bar that offers lots of tasty treats and alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. I got a oat milk cappuccino and a small chocolate mint cookie. The cookie was only 1$ and so tasty, like an elevated and adult girl guide cookie!! Excellent prices and kind service. This will be my new go to when I have some time in Ottawa South.

Also, if you register with them you earn store credit with every dollar you spend, which in a store like this is dangerous motivation. More dangerous motivation is that the prices are fairly reasonable. If I lived here, I'd be in that store weekly. If you're a bibliophile, go! Regardless, if there's something you can look for, you can ask a staff member who'll probably know where it's located. It's a broad assortment of varying genres, and you might find something you didn't know you wanted. Found myself a bunch of nonfiction history books that I keep promising myself I would read. There's also a selection of books for display at the front of the store with a deal going on: usually "$5 each, 3 for $10". The only point of concern is security, as it seems fairly susceptible to theft.

The owner can cater to whatever crowd they want, but be open about it so that potential customers can make informed decisions.

Putting the priced inventory online would possibly wipe out half the stock in a month. And would still leave the problem of finding the listed book in a random pile. The main issue for me is price. Some oddball oxidized third rate Sci Fi paperback is listed at $5. An old water-stained and crumpled 5 kg surgery textbook is $50, and took some ironing to make it readable. Service? Owner seems to know where everything is, and people seem to like the hunt. As for me, there was little parking space, and I got a $70 ticket. Read the signs! Patrols are frequent. In parting: come with an agenda, but browse. Be prepared to respectfully haggle. Dress down (easy for me) and mess up your hair. Dont rub the belly of the cat: he bites at that.
