I struggled writing this because I don't want to negatively impact someone's business, but…read moresomethings just isn't ok. As a parent I witnessed the owner handle a group of 100+ players parents and coaches in a very disrespectful manner. Ending time of the event was 1:10, and at 1pm he shut the lights off and got a on a microphone and said "Get out of my building". I can go on about his tone in my opinion but it's not necessary. There are better ways that could've been handled, a simple conversation with the host would've sufficed. Would not recommend this place to anyone unfortunately.

I would come in the mornings and afternoons after work and respected any event that was going on and would get verbal approval from coaches. Around a week ago during their youth football camps, I was there at 4:30 PM, around one and a half hour before their camp was about to start. The manager and staff told me I couldn't workout even though I only needed the field for 15-20 minutes. I asked the coaches and they encouraged me to use the turf field. As I was setting up, the manager, Donnie Laing, came up to me and started showing aggressive behavior towards me. I kept it extremely respectful since I am the customer and only using their equipment and don't own anything there. I tried to reason with him and explain that no one but him had any issues with what was going on but he wouldn't budge. After that interaction, I decided that was the last straw and would stop spending my money at this business. As I was heading out to cancel my membership, I tried to talk to him and apologize for what I did and going behind his back. But once again he wouldn't buy it and went on to call me "useless and retarded". I do not have a disability, but I was extremely shocked to hear those words come out of a manager to a customer in a professional setting. Especially with kids entering the building. Would you want your child to hear those words come out of a manager you're giving your hard-earned money to? This isn't the first time I have had an issue with Donnie Laing. He, and the rest of the staff and managers only care about the name and image of the athletes and people who come into the building, not the people who spend their well-earned money to use the equipment and are serious about training. It is the unfortunate truth but I just want everyone to be aware of who they are doing business with and know what the type of people these managers are.

What no reviews? Let's fix that…read more I've spent many hot afternoons watching my daughter practice during soccer season and most weekends of her high school career lugging chairs to the field and cheering her on. The fields are massive here and a bit hard to find your assigned field of its it's not on the outlying area, but the grass is always freshly cut, the parking areas are nice and plentiful and there are restrooms and vending machines all throughout this place. Some other great things about this park. There's a very nice stocked lake for you to fish in. There's a separate dog park for you dog lovers and an actual pond they can jump in to cool off. It's close to an Albertsons grocery store, a few fast food places and a brand new WalMart.

It's blistering hot there and there's all of 3 pavilions in the whole complex and very few trees. Also, maybe some more water stations and bottle filling stations? Again...hotter than the sun. The road is also narrow and not pedestrian friendly, which is unfortunate since the loupe is almost exactly 1.5 miles. I have used it for running but am always dodging cars because people are in a hurry and there's not enough space. I feel like BREC missed an opportunity there. Bathrooms are what you'd expect at a park...kinda dirty and lots of spiders but there's *almost* always soap and toilet paper. I also agree with the other reviewer, the traffic gets insane when there's games/practices at the same time. Lines of cars wrapping around the park. There's so much space and opportunities to make it an excellent park other than just for playing soccer! A playground maybe? There's a dog park in the back that's actually pretty great, but I haven't been in awhile. Even has a pond for training hunting dogs!

A year later, I moved to Baton Rouge and discovered Premier Soccer Center indoor soccer facility on Nicholson Drive. I was thrilled to have a place to play again.... but wondered if I'd be able to make friends like I had at Sport Port and if there would be the sense of friendship, comraderie and respect. After playing with a few teams, I can honestly say this place is the highlight of my week, I play here at least 2-3 times every week. I've made a ton of new friends, to my surprise some of the guys even named a team after me! It was a surprise because I can kind of be a jerk on the field. The facility is TOP notch. There's a well run bar usually staffed by hotties and the owner Jason is an honest, sincere, great guy. Yes, he's extremely busy making schedules, keeping teams full and he's unafraid to do any of the work for the place himself... but if you just take some time to talk to him you'll see. In Shreveport at least once a month I'd drive 30 minutes to the facility and there wouldn't be a game because the other team didn't show or there wouldn't be enough players. That has never happened in the 18 months I've been at Premier Soccer Center. Jason works every day and if he thinks a team is going to be short he gets on the phone and texts and calls players to fill in. I know, cause he's always calling me to come fill in! He even broadcasts games on the Pelican Sports Network weekly... this place is a great asset to Baton Rouge and it's surrounding communities. I for one am super glad it's here!
