After an initial "free" phone consultation, and having NOT signed a retainer agreement, we decided to go with a different firm - informing Maronick in just 24 hours. Tom called me out of the blue, days later, aggressively questioning me as to why we not moving forward with him. That affirmed our decision to go with another lawyer. After three weeks of asking them to close our file and refund any unused balance of our $1,000 deposit, they finally informed me they were keeping the entire amount. No work was done, no agreement was signed, and the office would not respond to us for weeks. Treating people like this at their most vulnerable, looking for help with criminal matters, is truly vile.
