My family recently requested Landlord policy quotes for two properties…read more As Tanner was recommended to us for Landlord Policies wit h Erie Insurance by my sister. We contacted them over a weekend, through both the Erie website and the Tanner website. Later in the day on Monday we had heard nothing and placed a call. We were assured that Ashley had been assigned and was working on the quotes. On Tuesday I called to discuss details and to provide anything needed, only to be told that Ashley was out for the day. Tish said she would get right on it. A few email exchanges took place to clarify some things. Pictures were sent. Thursday - Called for a status report, only to be told that the request had to be forwarded to Cheyenne, a Commercial agent. Tish could not handle our request. Friday - Called Cheyenne in the morning to discuss our needs and after a few words, I suspected that Tish had not forwarded notes about our discussions. Or, Cheyenne never read them. At the end of the day I was told by email, that Erie would not insure us because one building had never been insured, and we had to replace the roof and siding on the other. Aluminum siding and Cedar shakes do not need to be replaced, and the roof was less than 10 years old. If the other building had never been insured, why would we even ask for a quote? After nearly a week, and three agents later we had no resolution. No Quotes! The agency never inspected the properties. Never asked for a Code Compliance Certificate. And, Cheyenne never asked pertinent questions. This company seems to have some serious organization issues! The initial request should have gone immediately to the Commercial agent and questions quickly resolved. This was a week wasted! We would not recommend them for any insurance needs.

Finally I looked into car insurance with another company, and got exactly the same insurance for $250 per month less. Business insurance lower with another company by $32 per month. These were auto-deduct policies and when you get ready to cancel, you find out they bill you after the fact - your current payment pays for the prior month, so you still owe another month after you cancel. I never complain, so this is a first. You have to watch out for yourself. There are no deals for being a long-time customer.
