Waterfall at Charleson Park, doggie off-leash area during certain seasons and times.
    Veronica Z.

Beautiful, wide-open doggie park. Both my dog and me had a great time at Charleson Park. From the doggie point of view, she had plenty of room to run and play with other friendly dogs. We went to the waterfall section that is off-leash, and she loved getting into the water. From a human point of view, the scenery from this park is absolutely gorgeous. Stunning Vancouver skyline across False Creek, there is a small lake and lots of beautiful plants. This is a walk for yourself as well. Tip: it can get muddy during winter/fall season, bring your rain-boots.

Wicked view. Wicked people and dogs about. Dragon boats drumming by. Charleson rocks. There's something about walking by the ocean that calms the soul. Night or day, you can't not smile while walking here. In stark contrast with the Yaletown seawall, the land of dogs dressed in LV with matching prissy fake women, the people here are friendly and actually smile. People are dressed to run, not to show off. Off leash park is wide and spacious. Turbo approved.

The views are lovely but if there is even a tiny bit of rain be prepared to be up to your ankles in muck. Poor placement for a dog park! Obviously created by people who don't have to walk their dogs!!

Best dog Park in the city!

Probably the best dog Park in the city during summers. It's not fence din but it's large and there are lots of playmates. If the summer heat gets too hot there is a waterfall with a small pond for the dogs to wade in. The view is really nice too since either is along the seawall. The downside is it pretty much can't be used during winter as it gets super muddy

Beautiful park, there are cycling, walking, jogging, paddle boarding, kayaking, or canoeing. Dogs are allow through the whole park and the trails. You can walk from science world to Granville island and that takes about 30mins to about an hour depending on how fast you walk. Nice flowers and two lanes one for walkers/runners and the other is for cyclists. A couple cute stores and ceramic studio there and nice views!

The most beautiful urban dog park I have ever been to. Restorative and wide open.

I also love that it's right by the seawall so you can go for a nice evening walk in the summer after letting your dog run around for a bit!

Over the summer, I came here quite often since I happened to be in the area a lot. I had socially distant picnics and also came here to hang out by myself and read. They also had Salty's Lobster Shack posted up here so I could treat myself to some lobster rolls while I enjoyed the sunshine. There is plenty of trimmed grass to lay your blanket on, benches, and shaded areas if it gets too hot. There's also a community garden, a skate park, playground, and basketball court close by. Additionally, there is plenty of street parking if needed. I love me some Mount Pleasant and I love me some Mount Pleasant park!

Mount Pleasant Park seamlessly checks off all three. There is actually a school playground on top of the hill with monkey bars, slides, the usual. We started there and saw so many kids in this other playground at the bottom of the hill on this dome-like structure and wondered what it was. The 2 playgrounds are separate by a long fence so you have to go around it. And the swings were between the 2 playgrounds for some reason, isolated on its own. Once we got a close-up, we saw the inside of the structure was a series of paths allowing the kids to weave in-and-out and climbing different heights, and also includes a longer slide as one of the exits. More for older kids 5+ though as the younger ones will get lost in there. The bigger kids really liked exploring the different paths. And walking distance to Marine Gateway shops and Coco Tea if you want to grab a bbt/snack after the playground.

The playground equipment, which is due for an upgrade this year, was quite limited and only had two swings -- a regular swing and a bucket swing for toddlers. There were more swings in the playground at the school next door, but they were all regular swings and not suitable for younger kids, such as our niece who was two at the time. Luckily we didn't have to wait long for the one bucket swing to become free, and not many people came by while we were there, but a second toddler swing would be nice for busier days.
