Good little liquor store. Nice wood interior. It feels more like going to someone's house than into a store, with all the hardwood and creaking floors. The parking lot is huge, compared to patronage, so you'll never have to worry about not finding a parking spot. Staff are friendly. The selection of liquors and beer seems pretty limited, but they actually have a pretty good and decently wide selection of wines. Prices are pretty fair, too. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come to this package store, but if it's the closest one, it'll serve you just fine. Oh, the exit doors are sensored and auto-open. Ok so when did a bottle of Kettle One vodka become basically the same price as Tito's? I feel like growing up, I always thought Kettle One was a very expensive bottle. Charlestown W&S sells it for $30. THIRTY DOLLARS- is it just me or are they basically giving it away? They also have great deals on a nice selection of wine, a nice selection of beers and they support/sell a nice selection from local RI breweries, distilleries and vineyards. During the summer months, it's convenient to get to, they have all your adult beverage needs, a freezer full of ice and some of the best damn peanuts (they come in a can) you can find! This place is the only liquor store within 10 miles of a beach/summer community. Their prices are terrible. Their credit card processing system is frequently down. They don't carry popular rose brands we've become accustomed to elsewhere. Their chianti selection is terrible. The best thing about this place is the parking lot. read more

Underwhelmed. Went in looking for a craft beer in any number of categories. All the craft beers seemed to be IPAs. No saisons. No sours. No seasonal wheats. Asked for a specific brewery, the clerk said we don't carry that brewery and walked away. No helpful input based upon what they did have. Felt unwelcome. They have about 30 bombers. Nothing to write home about. Maybe if I were looking for wine, they would be able to accommodate me. I walked away, bought nothing. A little customer service would have gone a long way. read more

I think this might be the only liquor store in Charlestown & it's now one of my favorites. I have been impressed with their beer selection! They have the selection & variety of most larger stores especially with craft beers & bombers. Plus, they have Berkshire Brewing Company growlers which bumped them up to 5 stars for me. They have a beautiful & new building which is easy to navigate. Plus the staff are helpful if you need a suggestion or can't find what you're looking for. SHOP HERE FOR WINE and everything else. Charlestown Wine & Spirits is not just the best store in the area, but one of the best wine stores on the east coast in my view. The wine buyer here is a true pro, so embrace your wine life and buy by the case. If the other yelp reviewers don't appreciate what this store has to offer, then I would guess they are hard people to please anywhere. I can't speak for the spirits because I gave those up a long time ago, but I can say the beer selection is more than adequate and the wine selection is definitely the store's strength. For example, some great wine finds are the Vino Verde Rose, Italian Contrade Negomano, Spanish Guerra Mencia, The Whole Shebang California Cabernet, and some French Chardonnays that are among the best I've ever had. The staff is always helpful, the store is super clean, and the post and beam architecture is groovy. They also sell ice. read more

We have been visiting this store with each of our summer stays for 10 years. The renovated modern, spacious store is a huge change from the small package store that was on the same lot. While the selection is great and the artisan cheese offerings are always delicious, the staff can appear less than welcoming. After previous visits, we thought there was a need for "dealing with diversity" or basic "customer service" training. It wasn't clear if the cold shoulder was related to discomfort with minorities (small talk seems to come easy with other patrons) or an acceptable annoyance with out-of-towners. We keep going back, with hopes for improvement and are conflicted each time - we enjoy supporting and promoting local businesses but shouldn't have to feel put off doing so. read more

I only recently re-discovered Charlestown Wine & Spirits in the past 6 months and wish I had found it sooner. I must say, the wine and beer selection here is top notch!
