I called Charlie Roofing to set up a bid and left a voice mail, Carlos called me back in the next hour to set up an appointment. He arrived exactly on time for the appointment and provided a bid the same day. I selected his bid out of three because I believe in supporting local, small businesses plus his bid was much more reasonable than the other small business. I also referenced checked the heck out of his company, and the products he uses, and was pleased with my results. When I accepted the bid, he called me right away to set the start date and time. On the day we scheduled, his crew showed up on time, on the dot, and began working. They were pleasant, respectful of my property and cleaned up at the end of each day. It was fun watching them work, they were like a well oiled machine. At the end of the second day, Carlos called to let me know they'd be back for a couple more hours in the am to finish up and to make sure everything was cleaned up. We then arranged a time for me to pay him the balance owed and he showed up on time again. I hired Charlie Roofing in August. His crew showed up a couple of days later and replaced my 30+ year old roof. There were leaks and several roof boards that had to be replaced. The roof I have now is beautiful! The quote matched the work that was done to the penny. I did my research! I got 5 quotes. I then researched the roofing material brands that were quoted. The material Charlie uses was #2 in quality and there was very little difference (except price) between the #1 and the #2 brand. Reading Charlie Roofing reviews I found only highly positive reviews including one who said if he could give more than 5 stars he would. Well, that is exactly how I feel! I had a very short timeline to deal with a roof that was in bad shape. I wasn't sure whether I should opt for extensive repairs, or a new roof. I had a few local companies out for their suggestions and quotes, and it was clear I needed to replace it. I dealt directly with the owner Carlos at our initial meeting, and he was wonderful from the start and immediately made me feel that I could trust him. I'm so glad I trusted my gut and chose him for the job! He quoted me a very reasonable figure and was able to get his crew out within about a week, and they worked very efficiently to get the teardown, new roof, and cleanup done within two days of work. I hate to leave a negative review on a local company, but I requested a roof inspection of the exterior and interior (so someone would have to crawl in the attic) to fully assess the damage and give an accurate estimate of the work needed to be done. The inspector came out and everything was going well, they assessed the roof's exterior and possible reasons for the damage but they did not bring a ladder to assess the damage from the attic; the employee contacted the owner and said they would not be able to assess the interior damage today but rescheduled to have the owner come back in one week. A week later I call the company to confirm the appointment time and I was informed they do not enter the attic to assess the damage! I asked the associate (who I think was the owner) how can you provide an accurate estimate without a complete assessment of the roof? He did not have an answer, he just agreed with me that the estimate could be inaccurate! Also, I informed him that they had an entire week to contact me and update me with the fact that they don't enter attics; I can't speak on the quality of this companies work, but if you need a thorough inspection of your roof, this currently is not the company to call. read more

We ended up needing a new skylight and flashing after the snow we had this year and Carlos responded quickly and sent a crew a few days later. They were efficient and polite and got the job done. Only reason for 4 not 5 stars is because he doesn't take card and I had paid a chunk of my credit card to allow for this project, and then had to pay with a check. Also, his business address is his home address and I left the check with his wife I think ? I would have been okay if I knew this all up front but I didn't. I had liked what I read about Charlies Roofing so I decided to give them a try. I was concerned that I may need a new roof so I called and spoke to Carlos who said he would come out. He was prompt and very honest, he felt that I needed to kill some moss on the roof, and replace a couple substandard roofing vents (an older style that were cracking). He felt that with that there was no reason to replace the roof, and that my roof could last another 7-10 years, was his guess.
