Today I got to sit down and eat inside Charles for the first time! It was packed and understandably so with their delicious pizza! We walked in with a party of 8 and they seated us right away (miracle). We ordered taco pizza, cheese, veggies, and Hawaiian (all customized with no meat) and it was so yummy! Our server, Payton was so friendly, informative, and quick! The atmosphere was chill and old fashion. Not the guy to leave reviews but, this restaurant was terrible. Waited an Hour for food and was not good and small for the pricing. Granted this was a Friday night. However, we had no communication from our waitress and eventually found out that our order was lost and the kitchen had to toss our order because they had messed it up. I absolutely loved this restaurant. I was visiting from Texas on business and a local resident recommended Charlie's. This restaurant reminded me of when I used to frequent local pizza establishments as a kid . The outside sign, the interior decor, the friendly employees, the video games, and the incredible pizza. Wow. This is the perfect family pizza joint, a great place to visit after a game, have a beer and pizza w/ friends, etc.... I hope this restaurant never changes a thing. Ordered 2 small pizzas. They both literally had a layer of salt on them. I couldn't figure out at first why it was so salty, I took off a pepperoni and put it in my mouth and it was CAKED w salt, burning my mouth n throat it was sickening. Otherwise it wasn't bad pizza just regular , crust kinda cardboardy. Service was good . Dinner salad was not so good , warm, no croutons or cucumbers. I understand only open for a week the pizza was great but the small is The size of a personal pan pizza the medium is the size of a small and the large is the size of a medium and out $33 for a large pizza kind of expensive and the wait staff really messed up all of our bills and they couldn't figure out how to straighten them out tried it great pizza but won't be back. We had 3 couples and they couldn't figure out how to do 3 separate bills he had everyones bills all screwed up it was very simple he tried but failed, ended up paying more than we should of ! Not sure what went wrong, but I'm updating my review to reflect my most recent experience. My previous review was 4 stars so I'm giving it 3 stars this time even though I would put my most recent visit at 2 stars. This time when I went I ordered take out just like we always do when we get Charlie's pizza. This is about the 4th time or so I've had pizza from here and all the previous times have been great. This time I ordered a 12 inch pizza and a full order of hot wings. Which is 12 wings and a cup of ranch. We had never had the wings before so we tried them. The wings were pretty good, almost $10 though, and hey don't have boneless which is what we prefer. However they were good. I would order the wings again. The pizza... here's where something went wrong. We had a 12 inch pepperoni pizza and it just was not very good. Previously when we have ordered this it has been great and almost the best pizza I have ever had. This one the cheese was rubbery, the crust was so/so and there wasn't really any flavor at all. If this was cheap pizza I probably would not care so much and maybe even expect it but for the price of this small pizza I was highly disappointed. It was like $17 or something close to that. When I called to order they informed me it would be about 45 min, which was fine with me, I was honestly expecting an hour on a Saturday night, I arrived a little early and the food wasn't done yet, so I waited a little bit which is fine. When I called I was looking online at a menu I found online, the date said it was from 2013 but I didn't expect there to be that much of a difference in menu prices from then and now. I was wrong! When they told me my order over he phone I thought I heard $27 something, but I was like what, that can't be right they must have said 20.70 something. NOPE. A 12 inch pizza, that's their medium, but it's pretty small for a pizza, and 12 wings was $27 and some cents. I would have been fine paying that if he pizza was good. But it sucked! First time we came here.....we were invited for a wedding rehearsal dinner. We had never been before so we werent sure what to expect. The food is delicious !!! They have a wide variety of pizza favorites but we usually have the Betty Davis (real ooey and gooey mozzarella) and the Works! The bacon cheeseburger is another favorite! The dining room is dark and cozy with a fun aquarium in the bar area. The people are very friendly and the service is fast! Salads are delicious with wonderful cold dressing and crunchy lettuce with juicy tomatoes and a red onion as garnishes. Location is easy to find and you can even eat outside if the weather is nice! The night we went it was busy, but we still had great service. Went to Charlie's for a business dinner. Pizza was okay , extra salty crust - avoid if you have high blood pressure. Okay pizzas(cheeseburger pizza , chicken wings) . Just bland and boring , nothing exciting or especially tasty here. The coupe de grace came as I was leaving , racist "retro" ad on the wall - black face ad. Threw my take - home crap in the trash as soon as I got home . Bad experience , kids will see that crap on the wall and think that's an ok way to see people of color . So NOT cool, food is meh.
