I love that the space encourages wandering. Take your time. Explore the storefronts. Grab a coffee, a cocktail, or a bite to eat. The skylit arcade, brick walkways, and European-inspired atmosphere make it feel unlike anywhere else in Charlotte. The real star here is the experience. You can stroll from Tryon Street through the arcade and emerge into Brevard Court, a lively courtyard filled with outdoor dining, people watching, and some of Uptown's most beloved local businesses. It feels intimate, walkable, and full of character. A word of advice: parking can be challenging. This is not a destination I'd recommend driving to unless you already have a plan. The best way to experience The Alley is on foot while exploring Uptown. Park in a nearby garage, take the light rail, hop on the streetcar, or make it part of a larger walking tour of the city. I expected much more from a company positioned as a luxury retailer with premium pricing. Two…read morefailed deliveries of the same furniture due to quality control issues should never happen. I ordered two French Contemporary Closed Nightstands from RH. The first delivery arrived in a shipping box with a severely damaged corner that was torn open. Given the obvious condition of the packaging, common sense would have been to inspect the nightstands before they were loaded for delivery. Instead, they arrived with damage, including dented corners, lifted veneer with protective packing foam embedded in the wood, finish damage, and other cosmetic defects. RH replaced the nightstands and assured me the new pieces would be thoroughly inspected before shipment. The second delivery even arrived with orange inspection tape indicating the cartons had been inspected. Despite that, the replacement nightstands still arrived with many of the same issues, including dented corners, manufacturing and finish defects, inconsistent veneer, and cosmetic damage. After two unsuccessful deliveries, the nightstands are now out of stock, leaving me to wait another two to three months for replacements. This delay is entirely the result of repeated quality control failures and has been incredibly frustrating. To RH's credit, Customer Experience acknowledged that the inspection process was not handled properly and admitted that getting the items out quickly was prioritized over ensuring the nightstands had been adequately inspected. They also refunded my $299 handling fee, which I appreciate, although I believe that was the minimum appropriate accommodation given the circumstances. I expected much stronger quality control, better handling procedures, and more consistent execution. Before this experience, I was seriously considering purchasing additional RH furniture for my living room, dining room, and bedrooms. After two failed deliveries, however, I'm no longer confident making that level of investment until RH demonstrates more consistent quality control and delivery standards. I remain hopeful that the replacement nightstands will arrive in the condition they should have from the beginning, but after this experience, my confidence has understandably been shaken.

When a server walked over he kindly stated can I help you? Lol yes, I've been sitting here for over 40 mins. I ordered breakfast and there was a hair in my food. I ordered another meal to go and somehow got a steak sandwich but I ordered steak frites. Overall, not a great experience at all especially when there really isn't anything on the menu under $20. Beautiful restaurant however subpar service and subpar food.

However, as with many decks, people have a tendency to fly around the corners on the levels. Can be a little frustrating. However, plenty of parking. Patron parking is on the first two levels, while tenant parking is 3 and above or gated if you live in the building. This is such a developed area and more residences, stores and facilities are coming soon. With SouthPark Mall across the street, it's a win to live, work or visit The Center!

Dining here: Brio (Italian), Georges (French), Del Frisco (Steak house), Taco Mac (Mexican-ish), Terrace Cafe (great breakfast and brunch items - best bloody mary ever), AZN Asian (Chinese) - there is also a wine bar, cigar bar, frozen yogurt place, hair salon, dry cleaner, YMCA and other corporate businesses (like scott trade and etrade). I think there are three Starbucks locations here plus fast food Wendy's, Chick-Fil-A, Firebirds, Smashburger, Nothing but Noodles and banks. The driving routes do a good job of keeping the higher speed traffic away from the areas where people are walking, so that's a good thing. And at Christmas time, this place is a zoo. Given the proximity to our home, we've been visiting here quite a few times. Aside from loving the easy location, I must mention that the best part of this strip is the lake and sitting areas located behind Spice Asian Kitchen, Napa and Taco Molino. The strip is impressive in size with a variety of restaurants...but honestly, it's not the most beautiful. All very brown, almost industrial...I'd say it's one of the most masculine looking shopping strips. The thing I don't like is how busy it is! By 5:45 pm, parking lots are packed...and the place is just a tad too busting at times...often with many kids. However, it has this near picturesque lake scene (complete with ducks, even a fake waterfall!) in the back that we really enjoy! If only there weren't office buildings behind that lake. :\ We usually get ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery after dining somewhere in this super-busy complex (So many restaurants here!), walk out to the lake, sit on one of their many comfy loungers and enjoy our dessert with a view. Makes for a relaxing time after any meal at this strip!
