I recently tried posting a prepaid parcel here. I have done this many times before. The person…read moremanaging the till at the post office was unable to send my parcel but could give no reason why and could offer no advice what to do next. I took it to another post office and posted it without problems. Since losing the original post office , the services provided at the COOP are not efficient. Largely due to ill trained staff I suspect. Not the fault of the staff as they have to multi task and do their best. I will avoid this for a post office in future and go to Bishops Cleeve where the staff are professional and very helpful.

The whole place needs a proper refit. When I worked for the Post Office in the 1970s both the management (which was usually time served) and the government still had a sense of civic pride largely absent today. Lunch time rush, queue 30+ minutes long, two people on tills working painfully slowly, two in the back counting money. Any other shop would have put two and two together - literally, on the tills. If there was an alternative, I'd use it.
