I fell on a financial hardship due to obtaining full custody of my son and having to change jobs which put me in debt by taking a lesser paying local job. my account was in negative and I got financial assistance from the state, verve told me if I brought my account up to current they would give me a hardship loan and it still says 6 months later that im approved but they said they couldn't help. my son and I needed that money... moving forward I have a truck loan, sig loan and credit card thru verve all of which linda was working with me on and claiming she was helping to set up payment arrangements and then boom get a right to cure letter.. so I paid the right to cure by getting an advance from work. paid them 3952 dollars which was a payment for all three things over right to cure to make me over 1 month ahead on payments. next thing you know 30 days goes and they want a truck payment again?? the account balances are not showing this money I deposited on the truck meaning in interest or principal. they will not give me a straight answer on these issues so having an attorney look this over. next up watch your checking account. I've noticed money randomly missing and let me tell you they love slapping out 32$ over draft fees and not covering the charge. I've currently shut my debit card off and stop my direct deposit from going to them because I cannot trust my money in that account. stay away from this bank. they will lie and act like they are helping but at the end of the day you won't know where your money goes and why your loans aren't going down. I've paid year to date over 6k on my truck loan and it hasn't moved 200$ and the interest paid isn't even right . they will be getting looked into

There's no way to truly be prepared for the death of a spouse. And the decisions about what to do…read morewhen your spouse dies can be overwhelming at a time when you're dealing with a flood of emotions Most bank accounts that are held in the names of two people carry with them what's called the "right of survivorship." This means that after one co-owner dies, the surviving owner automatically becomes the sole owner of all the funds. If you and your spouse open a joint bank account together, it's very unlikely that anyone would argue that the two of you didn't intend for the survivor to own the funds in the account. However that's not what happened when my father passed away. My parents had a joint account for years. My mom's name has always been on this account. They went in the local branch together on March 22nd 2022, to make sure when something happened to him things would be fine for my mom. The bank didn't lead him to believe anything different. On April 19th 2022 we lost my dad. My mom has been contacting all of their finical institutes to move on to the next steps. All of them were very helpful and displayed empathy for what she was going through. Until she had to contact her Credit Union. There was checks in his name that at first they refused to cash because "he's deceased, we can't cash deceased checks." Words from their tellers. She left in tears and was afraid to go back because of how rude they treated her. I went back with her and they said they couldn't help her that she needed to make an appointment to see someone else. The teller attempted to yank the death certificate out of my mom's hand claiming she needed that. Even though she told us she couldn't help us. My mom again leaving the bank crying. She received a call from Cassandra scolding her for "not treating her employee better". After that call, she called me in tears. I attempted to call Cassandra to explain what's been going on with the account, and my mom. She basically said I'm not talking to you I will deal with your mom who is a member of the CU. No empathy given by any of them. No let's sit down and see what your options are. They did not want to help her at all. We decided to go with another bank that was willing to sit down with her explain their policies and find a solution to her financial needs. She started to withdraw money into the new account but moving bill pay and income that is directly deposited takes a little time. She's waiting on the final deposit from social security to completely close the account. However that wasn't good enough for the FDLCU. On July 19th, 2022, 3 months after my dad had passed they decided to send her a letter stating, Donald is deceased, sorry for your loss, but you need to close the account because we can't send any tax forms to someone who is deceased. My parents were married for 53 years. I remember when the CU opened down the street from us and my dad opening the account. All of these years with this financial institute and this is how she was treated. When they went in March they could've told them issues that were potentially going to come up. He was filling out POA papers. But when I asked Cassandra about this she stated they don't give out financial advice. Good to know, a bank that doesn't give out financial advice. Or better yet, disclose their policies. It saddens me to know that they're allowed to treat people this way. I'm sure my mom isn't the first one to go through the loss of a spouse, or loved one. Just wanted people to be educated on how they treat their customers.

Finally I got served court papers saying that they took all the money out of his accounts to pay his credit card and are coming after me for the remainder of the balance. I have been and talked to other financial institutions that have informed me that they have never heard of a place doing this.
