Chase bank is in general very frustrating to deal with, but the employees at the second avenue branch are a delight.

What bad experience with this chase. Walked in a rainy day for the Atm . I checked from mobile chase application for atm available and gave me this location. It's about a mile away and I had to walk while it's raining like cats& dogs . When I get the location they had two ATMs available and non are working!! Surprise!!!! Actually they do work but no cash dispense both of them.. What a bad day I had never forget. I understand it's a busy side of east village, busy area and no other chase bank around. But still if your ATMs in your branch is not working, do not show it on your mobile application.eatleast day no cash dispense or ellse so we don't have to walk a mile in a rainy day and get wet for nothing. This branch offers many promotional financial services particularly to newly high school and college students. Efficient and prompt teller service that produces a humble and humane "hello, how are you" greeting was a delight as a stellar for customer service. Wow, this world does contain roses who are human to project compassion, sincerity and genuine human emotion!! I was able to attain a free pen that appears very sketchy quality at $.99 bulk order by headquarters. The manager was chit chatting off-the-job nonsense to an employee rather than ensuring all patrons are serviced for fulfillment, which I interjected to attain a business card from her very precious chit chatting. This is the worst experience I have ever account with a branch manager, Pattie Liang She was rude, and belittling. She told me I need to learn how to bank, and its not her job to teach me. I looked at her like why are you talking to me like this. Chase didn't inform me of a few that she admitted a mistake, and charged me 444$ in 2 weeks. She returned 90$ and told me that I'm lucky to be getting this. That shebis doing me a favor. She kept cutting meniff and making me feel like I should have know things that were obviously concealed to me at the time of opening the account. Then she literally talked about me right in front of me to someone else. It's extremely rude and I feel so angry. I'm opening an account with a credit union. Not bad spot for cash. I stuck my card in reader and then it said place card in and dont remove....what!!!!! Well I found out NYS is last state to use chip enhanced card readers. We are way behind the curve in credit card fraud....I wonder why??? If there is anything better than cash its a way to protect my cash from fraud. I am not used to this protocol but I dont mind it all. Stick your card in and receive your cash after it has been verified. Was expecting a good workout and to get my heart rate up with the "chase" I was promised. Very disappointed to find out it was a stationary bank. Maybe change your name to aomething more fitting like bank of America since you are a bank that is in america. If you are looking to get more customers, maybe instead of having free coffee and lollipops you could leave out baskets of endless breadsticks. Amazing experience! Everyone there is great to talk to, and know how to help you out. The bank offers a lot - their website's capabilities are excellent, and the bankers introduce you to it quite thoroughly. Also, as someone with a business and rather large balances in his accounts, I was very pleased with how they were able to utilize their J P Morgan access to put me into great investments. I highly recommend their business and investment services. I do hope they install more ATMs soon; the lines can get long. Minus one star. read more

Chase Bank AKA Chase J P Morgan Bank ---they have become the worse bank I have EVER DONE business with --a family member wrote me a check for 3,000 for helping them in the past Chase treated me like a thief as if I had forged a check or was doing something legal--money laundering---the check was paid out to them by the check drawn on bank the same day I deposited it--but they refused absolutely refused to release the funds they held them for 10 days --they would not even release the first $200 the next business day they are trying to justify it by saying they were waiting for the other bank to pay good on it WHAT LIARS --UNGODLY LIARS--- the next thing they have done is we need to have our house appraised the bank informed us that it would cost about $475 so we gave the company our charge card. What's the point of doing business a banking institution over a period of years if, during your time of need, they cannot extend an auto loan to you. This is problem I had with Chase and why I'm taking my business elsewhere. Despite me paying off two car loans within the past ten years (ahead of time), never late or defaulted on credit card payments, a track record of stability, guaranteed lifetime pension, credit score in hi 600's and low 700's, they rejected an application summit-ed by the dealership on my behalf. I was unaware of this at the time. However, my story does have a happy ending, I was immediately approved by another banking institution, no questions asked. I will now "DUMP CHASE", advise others to do the same and take my business to the bank whose motto is "We treat customers human!" read more

Frantically I dashed into this branch, to cash a check written to me by friends on their Chase bank account. My bank is in California and has no branches here in New York. I needed $500 cash to secure my dream East Village apartment. The teller wouldn't cash it because I myself did not have a Chase account. I looked at her and asked "what do you suggest I do?". She sent me over to the customer service agent, and I was in 7th heaven from there on out. My personal banker attempted all avenues to get me my cash. I returned the next week to do a certified check for three months rent and a different personal banker also used 120% of his brainpower to help me get what I needed. I have opened an account here and plan to use them for all of my financial services once I move to NYC on June 1. It's a small branch, I imagine there may be quite a wait on busy days, but my first experience, and under dire circumstances, was stellar. read more

I was in search of a notary and previously I've had very good experiences getting papers notarized at other Chase branches. I was directed to this location by the Astor Place location because their notary "had an expired stamp and didn't get a new one yet." When I arrived at this location I was informed that their notary is only there from 10-11 and 4-5. What good does that do anyone?? I came back a week later during the AM time frame and was told it would be up to 20 minutes wait time because the notary was in a meeting. Maybe if they were there for more than two hours a day they wouldn't be stuck in meetings and could take three seconds to stamp my paper. read more

Chase had recently told all of its consumers that it will no longer offer overdraft lines of credit to cover overdrafts on checking accounts. The only overdraft protection they will offer as of August 20, 2016, is by transferring money from a Chase savings account. No other bank in the country has taken or is taking this unprecedented step. Chase has the nerve to say that this will "simplify" overdrafts going forward. I think NOT! I'll be closing all of my Chase accounts ASAP, thank you very much! read more

Horrible Bank..... I see why a class action lawsuit was filed and they had to pay money out. Chase charges over draft fees for any amount over $5.00 thats not too bad but Chase also changes your transaction dates and place them in an order that causes over draft and additional cost to the customer. Ex.. If one transaction came in on 10/3/14 for 7.99 that overdrew your account you have until 11pm to deposit the money to cover the over draft once you deposit the money your back in good standing, Right? Nope! Wrong because if another transaction come in on 10/4/14 Chase back dates the transaction causing an additional overdraft for 10/3/14 and who are we to dispute when it was received. We pay Chase to hold our money, and we have no control over it while its in their possession. Horrible! A Chase representative told me today that Chase can change the date and time a transaction is received to benefit the banking institution. Closing my account asap. I will be stopping my direct deposit Monday morning. I should have listened to the Media when they discussed Chase involvement with federal and criminal activities. Now once again another class action lawsuit this time its for mortgage fraud. HORRIBLE! read more
