My experience with this bank has been stellar. All the employees are friendly and patient and I really feel like I have a banker when I call or visit this bank. They did stop taking Ira deposits this year and I was able to easily close out my Ira account and transfer it to a savings account. I have also used this bank for mortgages and found them to be very fair and efficient. I enjoy using the shady parking lot in the back of the bank because in the summer it provides a cool area to park your vehicle. There are also spaces always available. When I walked in the other day, I saw that they had redone the reception waiting line area into a very inviting lounge. They were just about to put up the Christmas tree so I can't wait to see what the Christmas decorations look like! read more

If there was a zero star option, I would choose it the way they treat people at this bank is ridiculous to know I've had other people have horrible experiences specifically at this chase and that chases overall experience has not been that good for me or other people I've been around I went in there this past Saturday super pregnant out of breath obviously exhausted. I didn't know I would need a second form id it's been a while since I've cash checks and I don't remember the regular protocol if you don't have a bank account at the place so I took an Uber all the way home with my baby who I also had with me got a second form ID made an Uber went all the way back in less than an hour mind you instead of them handling things properly they were rude and hadn't attitude and ended up telling me they couldn't even cash the check even though the check was made by Chase. It was a Chase check made out from my property management they did something to the check so I ended up not even being able to cash it the vindictiveness and the attitude from this place I would never recommend going there or doing business with them. They will do the smallest thing to sabotage your day just to get off on it not a place to do business at all. read more

Love this bank because their bank employees are wonderful. Whenever I have a problem, they are prompt in resolving it. Never a problem with parking, either. They greet my dog and offer her a treat. She likes coming here even more than me. read more

RUDE!!! The woman in the parking lot (today,) who was making sure that only customers park there, was screaming at drivers such as myself, acting as if everyone was there to park illegally. As a legitimate longstanding customer, her behavior was quite upsetting, and made me quite angry. Especially in these trying times, people should be given the benefit of the doubt, and treated with courtesy and respect, rather than treated poorly. She deserves a reprimand, and I deserve better. I went in yesterday to order checks. An employee came up to me in line and asked what I was there for, she then discouraged me from waiting in line and told me to get online to do it. I asked a few questions and she said, you can find all that out online. Instead of continuing to listen to her deter me from staying, I said okay left. I went in for help and came out with nothing. I really hate bad decisions that make my day longer. 7 people in line, one teller, 20 minute wait. Is it any wonder why the small independent banks are kicking these guys butts in small markets? They had a person asking what we were on the bank for, and a few people sitting at desks, but only 1 teller. Three tv's talking about the great service, while 7 people stand in line. Went in to cash a check written on the Bank. I do not have an account. First tole they cant cash a check over $2,500 if the account holder didn't set a higher limit. Then they couldn't cash the check since the check was made out to my name Dan but my ID all said Daniel. I think if these are the policies they are horrible, and applied inconsistently. I cash a check there several years ago for twice the amount of this check, ans same ID I have now. read more

Chase is the worst! My student account was hacked and they did not resolve it, did not return my money and they sent it to collections. Customer service is a joke. Their Fraud dept was rude and told me "once we make a decision on your case, and it is denied, there is nothing you can do." Do NOT bank here. read more

Worst experience ever at a bank! Waited over 10 min in line with 4 other people while one teller worked. Finallly got my turn only for the teller to tell me that I had basically wasted my time because my last name wasn't written on the check by the signee(it was a Christmas present) . he said I need to go back and have the person write it on there. CONSUMERS BEWARE! After being a Chase Bank customer for over 25 years (Madonna Branch), I had the SHOCK of a lifetime last week when I tried to pay a bill using my Chase Visa and was told the authorization did not go through. I called the Visa department and was told my account had been CLOSED!!! Who closed my account and why? She could not give me an answer. She said that another account of mine had also been closed and a letter from Chase was in the mail. I called my branch to see if they knew what happened, and I was told that my checking account had also been closed!!! I asked the store manager to see what he could find out. He called them and told me they did not give him a reason and had no other information. I received the letter yesterday and it said "We have decided to close your accounts." That's it! No explanation! My parents migrated to the United States from a communist country. I thought those things ONLY HAPPENED in Communist countries!!!!!!!!!! read more

Was greated with a very friendly good morning as I walked in, that's was about the extent of the service I received during my visit. I was trying to cash a cashiers check, they wouldn't do it for one reason or another. I set up my accounts here and opened new ones, each time I've been treated with respect, professionalism and kindness by tellers, personal bankers and the receptionist. I recently had the pleasure of meeting Jonathon Castro as my private client banker. Jonathon is outstanding individual and has "the customer comes first" mentality. Less than one star! I banked with Chase before I moved here. Our family runs a business account here and I almost opened another businesses accounting with them. Which I have decided to go elsewhere, for the following reasons. I live one block away and if I have to do something more than use the atm I go to the Maddona road location. There are a couple of people here that are extremely rude and incompetent. The other employees are nice but not very experienced. There is a woman for business accounts that is horrendous and doesn't know what she's talking about. She has been extremely rude when making inquiries about new accounts, pretty sure judging for our age or dress. Funny thing when people act like they own the place when they are just a little employee pushing buttons, we're the ones bring the money that pays your check! They keep a parking cop that has just as bad an attitude who won't let people park (even if you show you are a customer) for a nearby business when the lot is almost empty. I also like when I stay in the car for a minute on the phone or filling it paper work and she creeps up trying to figure out what your doing, I'll actually take more time before I go to the bank or ATM, it's kind of funny but also an invasion of privacy. Although I'm always polite, don't try to be too friendly or say hello, this just confuses her. Chase and the local management is responsible for this ridiculousness. So I blame them. San Luis Obispo is stuck viewed as this small town when it is not. So companies and people refuse to provide the level of service that is required. That goes in hand with the lower wages in the area which doesn't attract good employees or talent, even though cost of living is so much higher than average. This forces most people worth their salt to move to larger cities where their worth is rewarded. Others have already mentioned the brilliant implementation of limited staffing (tellers) during the busiest times. Almost forgot, they just installed new exterior lighting that violates lighting laws, it's not supposed to shine off your property, and these babies light up the buidings across the street. Maybe city of SLO building code enforcement should do something?... read more

I love banking with Chase. Prior to banking with Chase I had Rabobank and they were absolutely Dreadful I had so many issues and problems with them it was unbelievable. I switched to chase approximately a year ago and I have had no problems at all. And if any issue did arise the employees at teeth were always very helpful. Today I met with a banker named Gustavo who was so helpful , patient and knowledgeable. I usually don't look forward to having to go to the bank but this guy made it totally chill and I actually look forward to the next time that I need to meet with him. Horrible service, horrible people. I was told that I would be able to talk to a personal banker any time I called instead of having to call an 800 #. However, every time I call I'm directed to call an 800 number after which I get transferred and put on hold multiple times every time. And in the latest horrendous customer service move, Chase has refused a request to refund two $34.00(!!!) insufficient funds fees caused by my account not displaying the correct balance before I made a transfer. I spoke with someone at the branch, who said they couldn't refund the fees and that I should call the 800# on my card. Typical. So I called that 800#, only to be told that someone at the branch specifically put an alert for the 800# customer service reps to not refund any fees (after the person at the branch told me to call the 800# to get the fees refunded)!!! What kind of person does something like that? I called the branch back and they straight out lied and told me they had not put any block on refunding the fees, and that the Branch Manager Jill couldn't be bothered to speak with me about such an urgent issue at that time and would have to call me back later. So now I'm being referred back and forth from the branch to the 800# just to try to get these excessive fees refunded so I can visit my family for Christmas without worrying about my bank account balance. I've been a customer for several yeas and have put up with Chase's underhanded tactics only because it's such a hassle to switch banks. But this is the last straw. Time to find a new bank... and warn everyone to stay away from a bank that would treat a customer so horribly, especially right before Christmas. Shame on Chase - just reprehensible. Thanks Chase - you get the award for the Scrooge-iest business of the year. And I'll be telling everyone I know about this. read more

Thouroughly annoyed right now. Your parking attendant wouldn't let me park in the parking lot while I grabbed my paycheck which is half a block away. I had to drive around for ten minutes looking for a parking spot so I can go pick up my paycheck and then walk to Chase to go deposit it. This is so stupid! This errand should've taken me five minutes to do and now it's taking at least twenty because I couldn't park there for five minutes to get my paycheck before I deposited it. Your new parking policy sucks. I'm a paying customer and should be allowed to park there while I walk across the street to get my paycheck before I deposit it into your ATM. I wouldn't have this problem anywhere else and am considering switching to a different bank that will allow me to park there while I go pickup my paycheck to deposit! read more

I love CHASE! A relative of mine started a savings account for me last year and every time I've been in the tellers are very professional and efficient. The banker who opened my account was Jennifer, she is so sweet and is always willing to help with questions and advice. She really will go the extra mile for you, I didn't know there were still people like that out there! I have a checking account at another bank in town and I don't get how I can wait 10-15 minutes there when the wait at CHASE isn't painful at all. The first time I came in I almost walked right out because there were so many people but I was amazed at how fast it went. I'm nervous to open a checking account because I'm so happy with how things are going now I don't want a disappointment, but that's just me being pessimistic ^-^ read more

Best service ever! Money can't buy the amazing service Dylan Rhoades provided for my wife and I. Went to get a joint account with my wife and Dylan went above and beyond to show us each feature our account is capable of. He walked us through even the little things like Apple Pay and how we can use it for atm money withdrawals and to lock out our account through the mobile app Incase we notice suspicious activity. Extremely pleased with my first visit to Chase Bank. I recently moved to SLO and needed to find a new bank. I walked in and was immediately helped by Bob. As someone who is fresh out of college, Bob was absolutely terrific in answering all my questions and made sure I understood everything before I left. I received even more personal help from him afterwards when I forgot to give him a coupon code during my visit. He went above and beyond to make sure the coupon was applied to my account, even though it was my fault for forgetting it!
