Not surprised that they have a score of 1.7 .WOW. So you won't be shocked at my experience- I go in…read morethe bank at 4:15 (they close at 5) I get greeted at about 4:20. I tell the friendly red head lady that I have a letter that said I need to come in to the bank and claim funds before the amount is sent to the state. Apparently it was a check I never cashed. Anyway. She says that the woman that handles that is about to leave and can I come back tomorrow . I say no, because I'm flying out to Chicago at 7am. She then says I can go to a WF in Chicago or I can send in the form myself, but get it notarized. I then say - "that's terribly inconvenient since I'm standing here now and you don't close until 5" she them repeats "but she's leaving now" mind you - no one was packing up or walking out. In fact she went to her office and closed the door. That had to be the worse customer service exchange I've had in any professional establishment. You are in a community that depends on you with the average age of 87 - DO BETTER Wells Fargo! I am not elderly and I bank at CHASE - but I know what the community expects and it's better service. You get 1 star because 0 wasn't an option.

I had no problem with the week hold on the check, however when I attempted to wire funds into my USAA account, I was not in any way supported. After going through the ponderous call-in to the general number, I finally got to the Wire department, which you cannot get to directly, you MUST be routed there by the "Customer Service" operator. By the way Customer Service seems more an oxymoron than a fact. I any case, I asked to send a wire transfer to a domestic bank and was told that I MUST contact the bank directly and obtain their procedures. Strange I thought, but I did as asked. It took me only 5 minutes to get the directions: Need exotic information: name and address of the bank, phone number, Routing number, account number for the deposit, then my name and address. I already had all of this information since this is not my first wire transfer, but that is not the point. I then had to call back Suncoast....Over a 15 minute wait later, I got to speak to a "Customer Service" rep who, when I complained about the wait, told me that I had to understand that they were very busy and tonally, told me to stop complaining. She transferred me to the wire transfer department where I held for another 5 minutes then hung up. I have left 3 messages with the CU, and understanding that they were sent Friday afternoon, am still waiting for the messages to be read and, dare I hope, responded to. My experience is that the facility people are very nice and seems competent and well trained, but the telephone staff are rude and ill trained. I am 95% ready to remove my funds and deposit them in a more user friendly bank/CU. Terrible.

I had 2 $500 money orders that I purchased from Western Union for a deposit on a home site. The…read moredeal did not go thru so I picked up the money orders & brought them to Western Union to have them switched out & put in my name. I thought this would be easier to deposit them into my account. Well it's against Western Union's policy to do that. They recommended I bring them to my bank. So I did. It is not something that any bank would do ! I explained the situation to Nancy (teller) who told me it couldn't be done. But with her quick thinking, she brought it to her manager, Jason's attention. After several phone calls, Jason gave me the options. None of which I liked ! After looking at my account & seeing that I have been a customer for a long time, he allowed me to sign the money orders & have them deposited ! Great job Jason & Nancy ! Nobody likes going to the bank anyway, why would anyone think it's a good idea to exacerbate this by letting me know it'll be just a minute? I'm second in line, I know I have to wait a little longer.
