I am a reasonably new customer to Suncoast. I recently liquidated some personal assets and deposited the check into my Saving account. I had no problem with the week hold on the check, however when I attempted to wire funds into my USAA account, I was not in any way supported. After going through the ponderous call-in to the general number, I finally got to the Wire department, which you cannot get to directly, you MUST be routed there by the "Customer Service" operator. By the way Customer Service seems more an oxymoron than a fact. I any case, I asked to send a wire transfer to a domestic bank and was told that I MUST contact the bank directly and obtain their procedures. Strange I thought, but I did as asked. It took me only 5 minutes to get the directions: Need exotic information: name and address of the bank, phone number, Routing number, account number for the deposit, then my name and address. I already had all of this information since this is not my first wire transfer, but that is not the point. I then had to call back Suncoast....Over a 15 minute wait later, I got to speak to a "Customer Service" rep who, when I complained about the wait, told me that I had to understand that they were very busy and tonally, told me to stop complaining. She transferred me to the wire transfer department where I held for another 5 minutes then hung up. I have left 3 messages with the CU, and understanding that they were sent Friday afternoon, am still waiting for the messages to be read and, dare I hope, responded to. My experience is that the facility people are very nice and seems competent and well trained, but the telephone staff are rude and ill trained. I am 95% ready to remove my funds and deposit them in a more user friendly bank/CU. Terrible. read more

Suncoast credit union financing department, and loans department as a member is horrible. I have been a members for over 3 years with a credit score over 730 and I cant get approved for their services then why do I bank with them? I am looking to closing all my accounts with them and wouldn't recommend them to anyone... Suncoast doesn't support their members at all. Is it possible to post zero stars for the worst customer service you have ever experienced? I guess one start will have to do. I have a new auto loan that began in September 2022 with Suncoast. Typically, I always get my auto loans from USAA but Suncoast rate was 1% less. As a 40-year-old I can proudly say that I have never made a late payment in my life and have a credit score just under 800. You'll understand why that important as you continue to read. In September (first payment due) I used a system called Speedpay since Suncoast does not have an agreement to accept outside funds from USAA online. My payment is due on the 15th of every month. So, I scheduled my next payment in October for October 15th. On October 15th I noticed that my account had not been credited for a payment. I immediately called Suncoast concerned that a payment had not been posted. The rep informed me that even though I scheduled my payment to be deducted on the 15th It could take three additional days, therefore my payment would be 3 days late. The rep reassured me this is not a big deal because they have a payment grace period. Anxiously, I checked my Suncoast auto loan account on the 16th of October and the 17th of October. Finally, on October 17th the payment was posted to my auto loan and the balance of my loan went down as it should. Today, November 15th I receive a call from Suncoast stating that my account is past due and they request payment ASAP! I immediately check my Suncoast app and find that the payment was taken from USAA and credited to Suncoast on the 17th. The rep tells me the funds were sent back to USAA because the USAA account number I entered was wrong. Hmmm Question 1: Why does it take 3 days after a customer schedules a payment on time for the transaction to actually occur. If I elect to have my payment deducted on the 15th, it should absolutely be deducted on the 15th on-time. Question 2: How can my account number for USAA be wrong, If it was deducted in September and then again for my Payment in October? Question 3: If in fact my USAA account number was entered wrong (could be human error on my part). If the number was in fact wrong how did you receive funds from an incorrect account number? Furthermore, how did you send funds back to a wrong account number. I would assume if the account number is wrong you would not be able to pull any funds. Yet, somehow my payment was successful in September, pulled in October without a problem and then sent back. After I was placed on hold after asking the above questions I was hung up on after waiting on hold. I called back and asked another rep the same questions as above. Totally unprofessional, the rep continued to talk over me. At the time I was calm as I wanted a solution to an error so my credit would not be affected. I asked the rep to please just listen to me and stop talking over me. I was being respectful and listening them and I ask for the same respect in return. The rep continued to tell me that they never received the funds in October. I'm sorry am I delusional? I see the funds coming out of my USAA account and posted to my Suncoast auto loan on October 17th. The rep then has nerve to say "you are responsible for making your payments not Suncoast. Are you planning on making a payment today" I responded with "I want answers to my logical questions as you did in fact take the payment and I can prove it. If this is my error I will own it an make the payment immediately." By the way, the rep could not answer my questions, she just kept telling me to make a payment. I informed the rep that Suncoast did not contact me once until 30 days later to tell me funds had been returned and the account number was wrong. The rep tells me three letters were sent to my address in October. Luckily, all of my mail is scanned at the Post Office and I can see my incoming mail every day. I took the time and looked through every single day in October and no scanned mail from Suncoast. I then told the rep, not only did I not receive any of your three letters and can prove it, I did not receive a call, text, email, or app notification. With no solution and me being incredibly upset I hung up the phone and called back and made a payment because the rep said the wait was too long for her to place me on hold. I called back an waited less than two minutes. I made the payment and was charged an $8 fee. I also doubled check my confirmation to make sure my November payment had the right number. Again, the same number used in September, October (although sent back) and hopefully November. Upset my credit would be negatively affected neither of the two reps could answer the questions above except to tell me to make a payment I made, they returned without notifying me. Now, granted I could have check my checking account in October. But, why would I check my checking account in October when I looked on the Suncoast app on the 17th and had seen my payment posted. POS. Suncoast CU has terrible customer service. Their customer service is Walmart-level at best. Their banking service is still in the stone age. If you call they will talk in circles and put account holders on hold out of spite until you get annoyed and hang up. I would not recommend this business to anyone. There are better banks on every block around here, pick one, just not this one. read more

Location, location, is everything and that is why this location has decided to permanently close and move near a more accessible location to the majority of their customers who work for the county's board of education, sheriff's dept etc and teachers. Do not waste a trip here they are not open. read more

I tried to call to find out their CD rates. After waiting 8 minutes I couldn't talk to anyone. If they can't answer the phone for new potential customers then they don't need my business. read more

I have been with SunCoast since 1979. I financed several cars over the years at great rates. But the best feature is their low fees for checking services and credit cards. Service is always good. The tellers in Ruskin are friendly and helpful. They are building a new building nearby that will be stand alone. read more
