We stopped here as we were headed home from a weekend in Maine. Chase is my maiden name and my son's first name, so we HAD to go. Upon arriving, we saw all the beautiful Christmas trees for sale and were immediately greeted by a very nice young man who asked if we'd ever been there. He welcomed us to check out the store and that there was complimentary mulled cider, apples, and fresh-popped popcorn and coffee, and a whole sitting area to enjoy it in. We purchased their own Cryovacced beef and sausage, some fresh veggies, homemade baked goods, and some cider. The staff was AMAZINGLY friendly! As we were leaving, my children saw some very small broken Christmas tree twigs in the parking lot and wanted to take them home for the ride so they could smell the pine. Another young man called over to me and said he had a better piece for them than what we found on the ground and he gave them a large branch! It just made their day! Then, my daughter saw the horses and he invited us to go and look at them. It was such a gorgeous setting and we really enjoyed everything we purchased. The sausage is out of this world!!! Not a fan. Guest and foremost, I won't be coming back because a side by side tasting of tomatoes from the stand v the grocery store, the tomatoes were more flavorful from the grocery store (which should be impossible). The produce is very very overpriced. While I'm happy to pay a small premium to support a local farmer, charging up to 3x Whole Foods organic equivalent seems outrageous. It is also cash only, while is just extremely inconvenient and impractical at the prices being charged. This is all topped off with less than friendly service by both the gentleman lady who work the stand. read more

Sometimes, you are out and about driving in an area you don't know so well (because you volunteered at an event in what feels like the middle of nowhere). And, on your way home, you drive by a sign that says "Maple Cream Donuts" and even though it's crappy out and you are tired and really want to get home - you pull over, turn around and go back to see what this sign is all about. And, sometimes - that was totally the right call. This is what happened to me this Saturday. I wondered into this cute roadside farm stand looking specifically for the donuts and was overwhelmed by all the other lovely items that kept distracting me. This was a very full farm stand - with fresh vegetables, a decent selection of other grocery items (milk, butter, eggs, etc) as well as some farm raised meats (steaks, bacon, pork, etc.). All in all, I purchased a variety of items - mostly maple based, as it was Maine Maple Sunday Weekend. The good news - that Maple Cream Donut more than lived up to my imagination. When I got home and opened it to eat it, I thought to myself - I'll just pick at this, eat the good parts. Well - lo and behold - the WHOLE THING WAS THE GOOD PARTS. I devoured that donut. It was so good - maple frosted, perfectly raised donut, and filled with maple cream filling. I was blissfully happy. I will figure out a reason to get back to this area just for this donut! read more

I love the convenience of this farm stand, it's closer than going to the actual farm OR the grocery store, if I just need a tomato or something else for preparing a meal/recipe. Staff has been friendly and the produce delicious! Stop by on your way home from the beach! read more

I love smaller farm shops like Chase Farms. You always find unexpected cool items. It was fairly busy on a Friday afternoon. The cashier was so friendly and was going out of her way to help customers. They have a great selection of fresh produce, fruits and meats. They advertised chicken pot pies on the sign but were out when we inquired - bummer. Prices are really good. I got a strange peanut butter marshmallow spread, a steamed hot dog, small cider and huge bag of potatoes for around $12. The hot dog was nice (side note - are steamed hot dogs a thing in Maine? I saw several signs for them outside shops). They also had a great Christmas tree selection that had many nice candidates but I live too far away to take one home that distance. If you're in the area and looking for a tree or a wreath the farm had a really good selection. read more

What a cute farm stand/ store! We were in the area and were craving some unpasteurized cider and we stopped in to see. They had some!! So many local fruits and veg's, meat, dairy, breads, honey, and baked goods. Prices were very reasonable and not insanely expensive. I love these small local stores. read more

Yes, this place is 'awesome.' They don't leave you guessing about what they themselves have grown, which is most of what they have to sell. Their corn is great, the peppers are fantastic and, in season, their small bunch-onions are the best. Seems a bit early for apples but what they've put out now look great. Will update! You better get here early if you want one of their special maple-sugar donuts! They sell out fast. If you're lucky enough to get some, don't wait till you get home! Celebrate your good fortune at getting one of these tasty treats, count your blessings to be in Maine and celebrate this wonderful business with a cup of coffee sitting on the glider with the handy table. read more

Awesome farm stand. We stopped here on our way back from Vaughan Woods. They had TONS of amazing pumpkins (our main reason for stopping) as well as mums and other flowers, and when we stepped inside we were amazed by the selection of local produce (much of it coming from their own farm), meats, baked goods, beverages, pies, and sauces/salsas! This review is for the farm stand that's alongside Route 1 in Wells, near Buffum Hill, not the stand at the farm itself. We stopped here a couple of times while we were staying in Wells and then Ogunquit. The first time we bought blueberries and Paula Red apples and a couple of freestone peaches. The blueberries were wonderful, the apples were tasty and the peaches were just OK. It may be toward the end of their season. They had Ginger Gold apples, w/ which I was unfamiliar and the nice woman at the stand hadn't tasted them, so she couldn't give me a description. I looked them up online and they were described as very good, so on our second stop I got 4 of them, thinking Alan might like them. He tasted one and it was too tart for him, so now they're mine to finish. They have an assortment of vegetables but we didn't buy any. Like most stands in these parts, they are open seasonally. read more

We recently stopped by here during Maine's Maple Weekend. There was plenty of maple goodness to be had, with boiling going on, syrup samples, lots of goodies for sale, face painting for the kids, etc. They put on a nice time for all. This was their first open weekend of the season, and they still had a decent selection in the farm store. Meats, produce, baked goods, etc. If I lived closer, I'd be a customer. read more

Chases Farm is the BEST !! We're regulars from Berwick and Wells Beach We puchased a Christmas tree one week before Christmas, The smell is still there and no needles on carpet !! 01/05/10 We're not taking it down yet smell is to good still !!
