I then was subjected to waiting 20 minutes for my sub to me made. They had four employees who needed to do all their work duties prior to making my sandwich. Autumn brings foliage, pumpkins and apple picking. Spillers' Farm offers "u-pick" from their apple orchids which is the perfect fall activity. We came here on a Friday afternoon with only a few customers with the same idea as us. Once you park in their private lot (that's another story....), walk to the stand where an attendant will offer you plastic bags and show you the basic rules. Do: Twist and turn apples upside down. Please keep children with you. Don't: Pull apples off trees Climb trees Throw apples After crossing the road to the orchids, you're given a variety of trees marked by tape with the variety of apples. At the time of my visit, we had access to "Macoun" apples which were easy to remove. The cost is only .99¢ a pound which we ate throughout of trip. This activity is enjoyable for everyone and at most probably takes less than 30 minutes. So go eat an apple a day picked by yourself at Spillers' Farm! ** parking tip: If your car gets stuck in the mud, grab some of the hay in the farm and place it under the tires. What a wonderful STOP HERE, SLAM ON THE BRAKES place. First time in Maine, wandering the back roads and came upon Spiller's farm store. They have everything here, from the pumpkins to a great wine find that paired well with their fresh apple cider donut holes and chocolate chip cookies. Once we left the store we walked around the property seeing beautiful fall foliage, a replica of a covered bridge and some goats and geese. It was a great stop. read more

I live down the road from Spillers and have always done a lot of shopping there. The fact of the matter is, the owners don't wear masks and I've been in there multiple times where half of the patrons aren't wearing masks either an are not abiding by 6ft distancing. The owners don't seem to mind, so I'll be going elsewhere. read more

I will drive the extra 25 min to go to another apple orchard before i ever return to this place. The women who runs the place (short white hair) yelled at my 3 year old for picking an apple off the wrong tree, then proceeded to scream at my husband for tossing the half rotten apple on the ground. Then she proceeded to tell my husband he was "not a nice person" and is a "bad role model" for our children! Umm seriously, for tossing a rotten apple on the ground?! Lets not forget who yelled at the 3 year old for picking an apple off a tree without a ribbon. She is rude, humiliating, and has no respect for PAYING customers or children. Spillers advertises in the local paper that they have the best pizza "bar none." This is untrue, the crust is pre-made, tasteless cardboard. The sauce is only around the edges not over the entire pizza. I will NEVER go to Spillers for pizza again. I suggest you heed this warning too! read more

If you want to pick your own farm-fresh Maine blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries, and not venture too far off of I95, then this is your spot. They have a "pick-your-own" area, which is open only in the mornings, and they sell a variety of their pre-picked fresh produce in the store portion of the farm too. I wouldn't go so far as to dub this place a "farm stand," (a conclusion I came to as I gazed upon their frozen pizza and other convenient store goods), but they've got some awesome freshly-picked ripe berries for sale, and it didn't take us too far off the beaten path on the trip up to Portland. A leisurely chat with the nice elderly gentleman behind the counter, farm smell, freshly harvested produce, complete with an outhouse! The city girl in me was strangely exhilarated. read more

Wow, I have never been so mad in my life after leaving spiller farm store!! I was in there with my 4 yr old daughter and told her to pick out candy by the register while I wait to cash out. A rude lady came out and gave my daughter the most evil look and told her not to touch the candy. My daughter looked at me with tears in her eyes cause she was so confused after I told her to pick one out. First of all ma'am who are you to talk to my daughter that way? Second of all candy is for kids, so your saying they are just there for show and not to be bought?? I didn't want to make a scene in front of my daughter so I left the store. Not long ago I noticed Spillers Farm sold hay...I bought ten bales as I was running low and the hay looked good...When I started stacking it some fell apart and I noticed lots of pretty big size twigs all through the bale..I discovered not only large twigs but downright small branches also...I tried pulling out the branches and twigs then let out a yelp when I was stuck by a thorn!!!!!! These thorns were bigger then you 'd find on a rose bush....I proceeded trying to pull all the tangled mess apart but it went from bad to worse! I checked the other bales and they seemed a little better than the first ....I called Mr. Spiller and he graciously told me I could replace the bales and he would see to it his workers stayed where the hay was without all the debris... I went back yesterday to get two more bales to replace the ones that were so very bad...One bale which was way in the back was a decent size but when I got it home once again, I couldn't even pull the flakes apart...I wondered what help them together when one came apart after much heavy pulling and it was MOLD! The hay was so moldy it took my breath away! I was speechless! I have Never seen such horrid hay in the twenty five years of buying hay...the other bale also had mold Plus thorns and branches in it.....I'm Not calling the Spillers again but will be buying my hay where I use to which for me is a 30 minute ride one way....I wish someone had warned me about this very bad hay ( to put it mildly ) I would never have purchased it....The only thing this hay is good for is to start a burn pile with!!!!!! It's Not fit to feed to ANY ANIMAL!!!! Nor is it good for Bedding due to all the thorns and sticks!!!!! read more

we loved this place. went with a large group of people. we went into the orchards and got delicious apples to bake, eat, and throw at eachother. recommend this place because it's a bare bones new england beauty. it's not one of those over-commercialized fall festival bullsh!t things. This rating is for the farm not the store. We had an awful experience and I do not recommend anyone coming here! I came on a Tuesday morning with some friends and our children (strawberry picking). Our first interaction was with the owner (I saw her picture on the website). She was very rude to my son while explaining the rules (no running...) I was very surprised that he did not burst into tears. During our picking we had a fine time filling our baskets. We did NOT try ANY strawberries because I must admit we were kind of scared of the owner. I did walk by and saw other children eating some. Our final interaction with the owner was when she yelled (no exaggeration) at my friends to move their strollers (parked out of the way of the patches). She was riding on her golf cart. She then sped past us and and yelled at us that we should be done filling our baskets and that we probably ate a lot! We were furious. So we left, without our strawberries. I was sad not to have the strawberries that I was looking forward to , but could not give that horrible woman my business. I ask you to do the same and pick another place to get your strawberries. read more
