What a gorgeous place to spend the day! While staying in Princeton we drove out to otter lake day…read moreuse beach twice and spent the entire day there. The park is clean with lots of shade and picnic tables and it is not overly crowded although I still recommend going early to get a prime picnic area. The lake is calm and was the perfect temperature. I look forward to spending much more time here with my family next summer

If you are willing to make the drive (approximately 4 hours out from Vancouver) you will not be…read moredisappointed with Otter Lake Provincial Park and the camp grounds here. Some of the best campsites at this location are definitely the lake sides ones as these give you direct access to the lake without having to leave your site! However, it isn't too difficult to either walk to the lake or take a short drive out to the day use area if you have one of the inner sites. One of the big draws of this location was the lack of RV's which makes for an amazingly quiet and relaxing experience. The site also has strict rules about when you can run your generators which definitely helps as well. Many of the sites that we passed by where mainly tents with smaller camping trailers. There are also a variety of trails near by as well as access to some cool looking mountain biking courses. It is important to note that there are no shower facilities here or full bathrooms. However, all their porter potties/washrooms are actually fitted with flush toilets! They are also cleaned very frequently. Overall, this place is great for families and perfect for car camping enthusiasts that want a more peaceful and relaxing experience. Additional notes: The campsite is located just 5 or 10 minutes from Tulameen which means easy access food/supplies if you need a top off. Also if you need propane you'll need to go across the street from the town's general store - look for the motel, and call the posted number to get service. The owner lives pretty close by and can generally get there in 5 minutes or so of the call. They take debit/cash.

I recently visited this camp ground for a week long vacation. We were able to book in advance…read moreonline which is always nice. We got one of the last spots available. Lac Le Jeune was hit hard a few years ago by the Mountain pine Beetle which forced them to remove some of the tree's in the area leaving some camp spots without shade which is tough in the day time when the sun is super hot. But it's also something that can't be helped. The campground has RV dump and fill so you can fill up and then dump your waste for $5. My family tented for the week which was nice. Each campsite has a fire ring and a picnic table. Our spot was quite dusty but again it's nature and that can't always be helped. The campground has "out house" style washrooms however they are flush toilets. There are "Double" sites available for larger families or friends who enjoy camping as a group. The campground is right on the lake so if you're lucky and can book early enough you can get a campsite by the lake. The lake itself is great. It's a grass style beach with a "sandy" slope. But it's not really big enough to build sandcastles. The lake isn't full of rocks like most lakes can be which was nice. There is also a changing area with washroom or changing booths you can use to change. There are an abundance of picnic tables near the beach, making it very easy to picnic. The camp ground is located close to Kamloops and Logan Lake so you don't have to drive far if you need supplies or want to return to civilization for a few hours. The negatives? On some advertisements they claim to have wifi, which isn't true. The women washroom near our campsite was clogged and uncleaned for 2 days despite Park crew being made aware of the situation. Some advertisements also say they have showers. I was there for a week and did not find the showers. Would I go back? Yes however I would book earlier than I did this time.

Douglas Lake Ranch - Dining room in Stoney Lake lodge

Not worth your time or your $$$. Stay away. Very far away…read more Every year they need to hire a new chef and wait staff, so there is no consistency. Food and service here are hit and miss. Customer service has declined precipitously over the last decade. This place is run to the vast exclusion of all other fishing opportunities on the ranch. Nevertheless, the biggest fish in Stoney Lake are no bigger than medium-sized (3-4lbs), if that. The sister lake, Minnie Lake, is far, far worse. What used to be one of the premier trophy lakes in the province has been turned into an unmitigated disaster by the latest manager in charge of Fishing & Rec at the DLR. He is a self appointed expert (in all things fishing), and has taken on the role of deciding how to stock the two lakes - despite the fact that he has no training and no clue what he is doing. The result? Massive overstocking, a lake full of tiny tiddlers, and sick and starving fish. These lakes will never recover until a few years after they finally fire the manager. He should focus more on promoting himself on social media - constantly putting out films of himself getting spooled by 2-pounders, calling 3-pounders "hogs" and "slabs", and killing fish with his throat pumping technique. Find another venue if you value your time and $$. There are several other fishing resorts that will value you as a customer a short drive from this one. Drive there.

The cabins were recently renovated and super cute! No restaurant or other amenities on site, which was totally fine, as the kitchen is super well stocked, and there is a BBQ on the deck. Very peaceful and quiet, people were friendly, nice walking nearby, field to play games in. We also enjoyed the scenic drive in and out, passing by so many cows and their young calves. We plan to return.

The customer service is on the lax side and not as attentive as your typical resort but it's a cute little getaway just a few hours out of Vancouver. The prices are decent, restaurant isn't anything to write home about but it's ok. I prefer cooking my own food anyways. It had a concrete pool to tan at if you do t want to swim in the lake. They have little boats with outbound motors for rent at $70 day including gas. No complaints. It's under new management so I think they may just be trying to work out the quirks so I'll give it another try. Be prepared to bring bug spray because the mosquitoes are really bad. The manager did say that this year was really bad for them. The place I was in was clean and decorated beautiful and rustic. It had a true cabin feel
