Odille, the hostess and owner, is warm and welcoming, the rooms are comfortable and decorated in a Provencal manner that is in keeping with the area. Castel Mireio is located in the midst of the some of the best wine country in the world in a village with great restaurants and good services and is close to Roman ruins and beautiful, historical perched villages. The restaurant at Castel Mireio offers a lovely breakfast with fresh crossants and delicious coffee on a pretty terrace when warm or the lovely, cozy dining room in winter, and traditional provencal lunches and dinners are available on the premises, as well. The house is very out of the way, quite hard to find among the windy roads and the road leading to…read moreit from the main road is bumpy. but this place is so worth it, set amongst vineyards in the South of France, the house sleeps 12 but is big enough for many more, an outside swimming pool, fully equipped kitchen, 2 bathrooms, conservatory and large Sitting room as well as outdoor bbq area and large barn area. Stayed here for a week in the summer and had a fantastic time, the swimming pool is a good break from the sun and the house serves as a great base for exploring the countryside around it, 1hr from Bordeaux (approx) and about 30 mins from Bergerac there are absolutely loads of places to visit in the area. The kitchen in the house is massive, open plan to the sitting room so you can entertain in style (in winter, in summer you have got to sit outside!) and plenty of room for a few people to help with the cooking. Youll need it as the house sleeps 12, and theres plenty of room for more if you want a couch or floor space. The house is fully equipped, and all they ask is you leave it stocked like you find it, the shelves are full of books which people have left over the years, your encouraged to take one and leave one and the cupboards have all the essentials. The guest book is full of comments going back 20 years, so the past has seen many happy families and groups of friends rent it out I would recommend this for somewhere to stay if you have the money, perfect for a large family, or a group of friends to spread the cost. This rental house is cozy and quaint with a well equipped kitchen, a dining table large enough for family dining and a terrace for those early morning rays. Two bakeries, a cafe, grocery and hair salons all in the village a quick walk from this lovely house. Sarah the owner is a lovely ex-pat who knows the area in detail. She directed me to the Rasteau wines on my last visit and I brought home 4 bottles.

Citotel de Provence isn't one of the more charming hotels in the region, but what it lacks in…read moreambience, more than makes up for it in service. Although we weren't thrilled about staying in the area near the train station, CDP was one of the few hotels in town that had a family room, as most of the more charming hotels required that we book 2 rooms or squeeze in a rollaway bed into a small space. Therefore, we were happy to find and book a room with 3 beds at CDP, and even more so when we arrived in Orange late in the evening after a daylong road trip to be greeted by a friendly and welcoming reception. After traveling through many parts of France, we've come to appreciate the hospitality of the inn keepers, which is not to be taken for granted, and especially after an exhausting drive, we were grateful that the owners made every effort to accommodate our needs, like finding a covered parking in their garage for our car. We really appreciated their hospitality and will definitely keep CDP in mind the next time we're in Orange.

Great price(worth every penny, I think I paid around 90 Euro.) Very near Vaison La romaine, and directly at the foot of Mt Ventoux. This awesome location has you close, but not to close to the village. Just enough to get away from it all and have a romantic time. The furnishings reflect the owners style. The wife is an artist, and our room (beautiful by the way) has alot of her paintings and sculptures in it. If I could post pictures I would. The BEST breakfast I have ever had at a B & B The hosts take great care with it, and you find yourself feasting in the morning feeling like a king, as he serves you individual tapas fruit, yogurt, eggs, local jams, fresh bread from the town, all served in little tiny cups. Fresh pressed juices as well. The pool was a nice touch, and also the use of a fridge to put your items from the market into. Honestly, the only drawback I had about this place is that they didn't offer a Table Du Hotes (Basically a dinner that you pay for, and they cook for you and you share it with them), but I couldn't really call it a drawback. You are in the center of the medieval village and have fabulous views of the village below. They even have guest parking across the street--very rare in this district of narrow, one-way, cobblestone streets. The breakfast is generous and the setting is dreamy--if it's nice you are eating in their garden. I also found the rooms large and well appointed--a plus in France where hotel rooms are often too tight. You won't be sorry if you stay here.

The review is make it to 4.5 stars rating. Not yet 5. They do have special check in time. 5 pm to 8 pm. We arrived at 4:38 pm and we were able to check in. I like the remote farm area and only 10 minutes to town. Since it is farm area, we saw a horse there. The owner was very friendly. She have two white dog also friendly. Love to play fetch with you. They raise their paw to indicate if you want to play. Our room is very nice. We have our own jacuzzi shower area. Nice size bedroom with twin bed. Bed and room are clean. The breakfast has good selection. It includes farm made jam and more. Breakfast at country side is beautiful.
