The menu looks great. Reviews looked promising. But the experience and service we had was horrible. Signed up for a table to have waiting 15 minutes to have two groups that signed after sat first. We were finally sat for a table, the server didn't acknowledge our table. When the server came, never introduce herself, acted like we were a burden to even be in the restaurant. She took drink orders, didn't let us order milk or cream for coffee. Brought the drinks never took out, proceeds to take order for other tables. It felt like regulars the knew were prioritized, over other tables. We walked out after 45 minutes. When we went to pay for the drinks we didn't consume. We find out the server never even made a ticket making checking out difficult. We were really excited to try this restaurant,the menu looked great. It came highly recommended, but with this experience we can't really recommend this to anyone. read more

Generous portions. Food was great! Plenty of seating area. A friend recommended and this was our first time there. We will definitely be going back. Exactly as anticipated - not bad, not great, local midwestern style menu. I ordered an omelette with hash browns. The omelette was a tad undercooked and more egg than ingredients on the inside. The hash browns were good to go and would happily get them again. Service fits the sane mold, not bad, but not wowing anyone. Looking for a breakfast establishment while in the area of Chatham. Found this one on YELP. Reviews sounded good, so tried on a Saturday arriving at 8AM. Plenty if seating (tables & booths). Greeted and seated immediately. Multiple breakfast options. I had the TITAN omelet which had bacon, sausage, ham, green peppers, and cheese. (Skipped the onions). Came with pancakes , fresh fruit ( or hash browns). Wife had SPARTAN omelet which had spinach, tomatoes , mushrooms , feta . She had the hashbrowns and pancakes . Hit coffee topped the meal. Service as friendly & attentive with out being intrusive. Definitely will add to our favorites while in the area. read more

We have eaten here twice. Dinner and breakfast were both great. Catfish and walleye fish dinners were both excellent as well as the omelette and french toast breakfast. Service was also noteworthy. We stopped in for breakfast this morning. They were very crowded and seemed a bit disorganized about seating. Got a booth and our server appeared quickly. We ordered coffee and water. Coffee was fast, but we didn't get water until our food came. I got Eggs Benedict which comes with hash browns. I asked for onions to be added to the hash browns and they were cooked perfectly. DH got an omelet with sausage, bacon, ham, onions, and peppers -- menu says with cheese, but he asked to leave that out. It was a huge omelet but much browner than I would have liked...but it wasn't my food and he was fine with it. We both enjoyed our breakfast. They are a little pricier than most diner-type places, but the food was really good and plentiful. Pancakes and waffles going to other tables looked wonderful. I wanted to try the Bananas Foster pancakes, but really wanted eggs, so the Eggs Benedict won out. read more

In the past I have enjoyed this place. I had the pork tenderloin today, senior special. I realized that senior special means it can be smaller size. However at this place I found out it means lower quality. Instead of the normal tenderloin they substitute a frozen ground meat Patty that you might see served in schools. I am familiar with the food wholesale industry. This was a frozen product that sells for 50¢.The white gravy was a solidified chunk of white stuff. We were visiting at our table so we we were there close to two hours. During the period our drinks were never refilled. Another one in our group ordered swiss steak. This is a diner-type restaurant within a few miles from our house, so my husband and I go pretty regularly for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I prefer breakfast because the service tends to be more consistent. The omelets are light and fluffy; you get a lot of food for your money. My husband and usually split an omelet and it's more than enough for the both of us. I've had a few times during lunch when there was a wait to get the check. This hasn't happened at breakfast or dinner, so I wonder if the wait staff just isn't as good at lunch or if they aren't adequately staffed. The manager/owner wasn't onsite during those times, so perhaps that is a factor as well. I would've given the restaurant four stars if they were more customer-friendly, but that hasn't been my experience in terms of food selection. For example, I've asked to substitute fruit for the potatoes at breakfast. Server just said no; they don't allow it. This is a first for me. I go out to breakfast every weekend and all the other places let you substitute fruit for potatoes. It's a common option for the health-conscious. Some charge a small uncharge and that is fine wit me. I would just like the option. Along this same line, the cafe doesn't have many healthy breakfast options. It's standard greasy spoon fare. If you want egg whites in your omelet, they charge you a $1.29 uncharge. This is higher than other place I've been, where charges range from 0 to $1. One other thing: their caesar salad does not come with parmesan cheese, even though it's listed on the menu as having it and caesar salads always come with parmesan. I asked the server about it and she said they just don't do it. Ok, well then update your menu or better yet, don't serve a caesar salad if you aren't going to do it justice. read more

We had lunch yesterday and it was so good we came back for breakfast! Yesterday was their lunch special of lasagna which came with soup or salad ( I had salad, the only thing we weren't wild about, pretty lack luster) & dessert. I had to take home half the lasagna & the dessert. My husband had the horseshoe and are the whole thing, which was a lot! The service was great and the food was very good.
